With the rats proving reluctant to show themselves at night, we hit the farmyard in broad daylight to see if the rodents are on the move. And it seems that the rats here are keeping unusual hours, as Mat picks off a procession of scavenging scaly-tails in full sunlight.
There’s also a treat for those of you who like to hunt with night vision during the winter months. We’ve pulled together a roundup of some of our favourite shots taken with the Nite Sight night vision kit.

  • I love this dude. He shoots for insta kill and with mercy , notice how he is serious when he is behind the scope yet as soon as he takes the shot and looks at the camera he’s like a kid smiley and happy. I really would like too know more about the device he uses on his scope. Good hunting. 🤪🤪🤪

  • 2K thumbs down? Most farms use poisons that in turn kill birds of prey, snakes,foxes and other natural rat and mouse eaters. This farmer and this shooter are doing a great job of pest control and preservation of life for other species. I say thumbs up!

  • Sidenote: you mentioned starlings as protected birds in your location, here in the U.S. they're more than a pest, they invade native birds' nests and throw out the original occupants to take the nest over for themselves. It's always open season on starlings here.

  • a dead rat is a good rat! I use to hunt rats with pellet rifle as a kid, the rats would chew the legs off our chickens while they roost at night, once on the ground the rats would sometimes kill the chickens, sometimes not. it was awful to see our chickens flopping about on stump-legs.

  • I’ve been dealing with a rat problem in my garden for the last few weeks and don’t like taking lives, but I totally respect this guys attitude towards clean shots, the neighbours have put poison and traps down and have mainly caught blackbirds and hedgehogs. You can only deal with a rat problem using targeted human intelligence.

  • Bought an airgun at Walmart here in Crowley Louisiana paid $110 fit the rifle. Withh a 6x scope. It's rated for pellets ,and the velocity is 1250 feet per second! Very powerful weapon indeed !! That's 600 feet faster than a. 22 rifle bullet ,and this is an Airgun single pump ,pellet rifle! Sizzling pellets seem to penetrate Stop sights trash and,barrels ,tin and slays varmints easily!
