Mat Manning is out on a ratting assignment with a different. Rather than his usual night tactics on the farmyard, he is targeting rats in a garden by day and under the cover of darkness.
After setting up feeding stations to lure the rodents out from the undergrowth, Mat kits up with his FX Dreamline Classic and takes advantage of the daytime and night vision capabilities of the Sightmark Wraith Mini gunsight to make an impressive bag of the scaly-tailed rodents.
Also in this week’s episode, Mat shares some simple but effective tips to help you shoot more accurately with your airgun whether you’re setting your sights on pests or toppling targets in the garden or on the range.

Great video again Matt. I've been using a Webley VMX 2.0 .22 and am upgrading soon. You've got me back into airguns and i'm really enjoying the journey... Thank you.
Very good advice. Too many times forgetting the basics is the problem. Thanks for the reminder. Always enjoy your videos.
Im lucky I've got a hundred dollar hatsan airtact .22 spinger with a cheap 30 dollar barska scope that loves the very affordable crosman premier hollow points. That twangy gun gets 19 foot pounds of energy and hits dimes at 20 meters. I love it.
Its not going to last very long lol
Is your scope still functioning?
Mate, your job is my dream. Congratulations and greetings from the sunny Spain.
Great vid and advice. New airguns often need an initial barrel clean (Hatsan) as they are still contain bore fluid or grease. And you are bang on there... I do enjoy the odd long range shot but far better pest control results by stalking and waiting.
ffs another complete inadequate. stalking rats?! are you real?? I mean who would name their child Grant. Nobody I know that's for sure!
Matt, Really enjoyed your shoot!! Video quality and equipment was outstanding !! Great info and a pleasure to see the FX doing the job !! Keep the lead flying and the rats dying !! F.B.I Davey Crockett
I'm new to air guns. Thank You so very much. You do such a good job of explaining things to this new guy. I just can't say Thanx enough..
Loving my Thermal Pulsar XM38 using a CZ457 and CCI HP .22. But my Air rifle is a Gamo Phox with IR Nite Site ranged nicely for 25 yards.
Thanks Matt. Great video and sound advice.
Thanks Matt. Do you clear the dead rats after each kill?
Enjoyed the video and good advice given 👍
Great video Mat.A nice bag of Rats there, and good advice for accurate shooting.Look forward to the next one. Atvb👍🏻👍🏻😀
A very good Friday morning to you all from Wellington Somerset
Morning ☕️
Hi, from Manchester. Uk
Another nice shoot out. Could you tells what type, wt,etc pellets you USE in each video. Thanks .
great to see ratting in gardens as most of us don't have the luxury of farm permissions
Thank you for the video. I have a question if you don't mind, how do you keep the accuracy so perfectly, by keeping the target at the same distance every time with the feeders?
Thanks for the great tips.
Hi Matt great video. What gloves was you wearing as they looked nice and tight so good to shoot in. Thanks.
Great session Mat,pretty sure at 7.50 mins during segment the FX Dreamline is made by FX and not Daystate🤔
Nice episode some interesting points .Question i have a whirach HW 80 what would be a reasonable cheap night vision scope please ?
Live watching your videos, what would be in your opinion a good scope to be putting on a 22 springer Air Rifle.
Keep this nice videos coming great job
Thats a nice rifle!! Wow, wonder how much that costs!?
Thanks Matt
FX Dreamline:) Had one. Great gun!
hi m8 yet another great vid love the tips stay safe ian
What's the grain of the pellet you are using, or did I miss that part?
Great vidio Mat some great shots and plenty of kills :}
@ 3:29, that's a nice looking angle, I'd would've used that as the video's thumbnail, looking sharp man ! hello from Miami, FL
Love this Channel
Hi I have no idea on cost what are you looking at for your setup, cheers Steve.
What is the make/model of your tripod/stand?
What is the largest animal you can take down, within the law, with a .22 airgun? I am a beginner and I haven' received my gun yet but I want to know to be on the safe side.
That really is a gorgeous gun. I could listen to mat talk about shooting all day
In between wanking furiously obviously
Field craft is key 👍🏻
Is it expensive for that set up,, and do you need a license for it.
why when you flashed the banner for the FX did you have daystates web address on the screen. Great shooting and it looked like a blast
@Broad Side yup because the rest of it was a great as ever. Because that was the only thing interesting in the entire video... yup you got it
Good stuff as usual matt. Next? , permission on that turkey farm.. Pete in Essex.
Cracking tips specialy the diffrent position's on targets Cracking night on the rats 👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🦕😁✌🤞
Excellent tir super carabine belle vidéo bravo
First great video m8...but i have a question..where do all the shot rats are ????? do you go out and take them away?..in your session?..i do the same like you but no where near your proffession.i do 3 to 7 rat's at night time in my garden (read i live out doors ) just with a Hatsan Hatsan MOD 135 QE Sniper 6.35mm .and i dont pick them up because i am afraid to scare them..
Boom another flyer off the tree. Evening Matt master class shooting as all ways Ye looking unwell is the least of its concerns ah Boom 💥👍
Where can I get a quality squirrel feeder for shooting. Thanks.
What system do you use
How do you disposre of them?
Thanks for your well done video. You are really professional in your presentation. The rats seem humanely dispatched going to a better place.
Wish you could come to Cornwall we gave a increasing rat problem on the farm. They are getting resistant to all poison now. I've tried to shoot them but they are too quick for me.
Looking like alot good 👍 fun arat tat tat tat tat tat on the gun
Which tripod are you using here?
Nice shooting 🔫 👌
All i have is and old humbert 22 sub with a silenced barrel and hawkeye scope but it does drop fox’s and roe deer , i could never afford a set up like that
Who gets to pick the bodies between shots?
Hi Mat do you retrieve them after a certain amount of dead in the kill zone. Or do you find it don't matter.😊
I had the same question. I was wondering if you get so many, that the other ones stop showing up, seeing all the others not moving? Also do you ever need to take a second shot for any of the bigger ones? Why not take a heart shot, when you have a side profile of them??
You don't have to retrieve them, other rats will come out and feed on them and as for Hart and lung shots, they are perfectly fine but quite often they will run a short distance before dropping which will make it more difficult to clean up at the end, even sometimes getting where you can't find or pick them up which can get a bit smelly, happy shooting guy's and always try for a clean kill 👍👍
Pretty sure he says he is retrieving them and putting out more feed for the next day in the video..
Great video buddy, that scope is fantastic but pricey I bet.
700 usd
Rat: I heard there’s some cheese down over there by where the guys are there with that word stick :guy welcome to the air gun show
You mentioned the scope / gun "weak link"....Any suggestions on mounts? 😂🤣...(👍Nice shooting..as per!)
Sub 12 matt, well done keep it up.
Bullets a-zippin’, rats be a-flippin’ . . . Gunman maraudin’, viewers applaudin’!
.....what is there to say?................nice again...as ALWAYS!!! Greetz from the Netherlands!!!
NICE KIT .
I love it. I need one. By the way, whose cleaning up the corpses?! 😆
Its not clear what is the model of your riflescope?
@Broad Side Ok, please write this in the video`s description, thanks.
Good kiwi clobber. Cheers mate.
nice gun
No regrats! Friggin awesome
Good hunting !!
Fx from Daystate ??? Oops
Lol 👍👍👍😜🏴🦄🦕😁✌🤞
I have a Gamo Phox and today I shot a massive rat, in the head, and it just ran away. It was maybe 15-20ft away. Is that normal..? I expected it to die. Now I feel bad. It's out there, somewhere, angry and confused, and probably with a serious headache.
Do they die with the air gun or do they just get injured?
Die
What’s the tripod your using ??
Primos trigger stick.
@@BionicRusty thank you
@@danwilko6391 no problem, Dan. 👍
Nice rifle set up.this is so much better than the rubbish the bbc have got on tonight.....
Amazing video you are a great hero
If you use your gun alot you will need to clean the barrel less. If its not used often surface rust can set it if kept in damper condition or its been out in damp conditions. I have'nt shot air guns since my teenage years but i did shoot regular and never needed to clean the barrel much. A quirt with the legendary miracle wonder product wd40 didnt do it any harm. Shooting now is alot like Metal Detecting its getting harder getting permission to do it. Which is why i eventually stopped doing it. I took up metal detecting instead but i comb the beaches as i dont need to get permission in my area.
Pump lead Mat! Full auto!!!
Penembak yang jitau, kira²berapa harganya, Semua perlengkapan senjatanya...?
06/27/2022...ona video posted 06/23/2022, Matt has a timemachine! ;)
yeah, that stumped me too!
Always pleased to see the long-tails getting a lot of punishment......
Mat, what do you estimate your lifetime rat count to be?
Can I have that load out?
Does anyone know what kind of hat Mat Manning is wearing? Can anyone tell me?
He's answered that before eons ago, but said it was no longer available.
at beginning of video no pellet DINGY on feeder...9.06 it looks full of DINGYS
bộ môn thỏa sức đam mê :D mà lại có ích^^
Recipes?
Nice give me this work at in india also
Kind of annoying that you have to flip the safety switch every time you reload.
American Shooter is so yesterday.
👍✌
Plenty of meat in that garden! Rat is good eatin. A little cut behind the neck and you can skin and gut them with one pull, just like a perch. Then bust up the bones with a rock good t and throw them in the fire until done.
Just curious whats the equivalent of this in distance if it was converted to say you are shooting a human? Thank you
I'm waiting for rats to find our bird feeders again at autumn..
They are back but winter is cold for shooter
Nothing like old fashioned pest control! very entertaining
Sad and inadequate man. I'll bet you were bullied at school
Am glad that not my garden that’s for sure.
Wallace and gromit
sometimes I put a small drop of oil in the barrel, the shot gets a lot of power from a small drop of oil
I used to go to the local city dump...in the 70's there was no fence and only one employee so we strolled around with our .22's and shot rats, and a couple of seagulls...lot's of fun. Then we'd go to a local swamp and shoot red wing blackbirds right off of cat tails swing in the breeze.
Shooting seagulls and blackbirds is “fun”?
the funny part is he could be there 24/7 and still wouldnt put a dent in the rat population there but it would forsure stat to stink with all those dead rats layin around lol
... strange how viewing through a IR night sight completely obliterates the 'camo' pattern on clothing... exc vid! 👍... 🐀🐀🐀🐀🐀 = ☠
That doesn't happen on military uniforms, but if you're wearing a hunting camo, chances are that nobody is trying to spot you through a night vision scope, so the manufacturers don't have to consider how their dyes react to IR light.
Much rats no fox
Okay where's the rats his shot gone is his wife picking up the dead one's after each kill?? Fuckin wicked Air Gun n scope + night vision 👌
All that with only 50 bar
Very bold of you to assume i have friends or a friend. Jk keep up the shooting friend!
