It's looking great Tony, can't beat a good old drybrush, the welding and weathering will really set it off. Understand about adding damage, it's not exactly a cheap thing (in both time and money) to go hammer happy on.
Hi Russ and thank you. I am starting the welding technique today and this will be up on video in a couple of weeks....There is a lot to do, but I agree, it will really set it off. I think the hammer will be involved at some point😬
Hi tony thick you should get the big hammer out and go to town on those skirts .a camouflage net and some trees wouldn't go a miss .all the best to you and the family
Hi Steve, I think a small hammer😬 and a centre punch. I have come round to the idea of battering the skirtings as I agree it will look better. Hope all is well with you and yours.
My favorite part of Friday! Going to watch the video. Having done some research for some of my builds, I've found many photos of armor missing sections of fenders and severely damaged portions as well. I don't know how far you're willing to go with the weathered/damaged look. Your son is quite clever, his little "interruption" was pretty humorous. The tank is looking fantastic! Soldier on! Cheers!
👁👁 me too
Hi Michael...I agree and have decided that I will be taking a hammer and a center punch to the side skirtings, but I will probably do that after the painting is complete and then weather round the damage...well that is the current plan😂. Yes Ben is super clever with his editing...he has definitely contributed to the success of my small channel. Have a great weekend and thank you for your continued support.
Thank you.
WOW! Another great video! AND YOUR FOLLOWERS - 27K+!!!!!!! That's awesome. I think I started following you when you had 27 followers total! I can't wait to see what build is next!
Thank you...it is very humbling indeed. Just hope I don't disappoint. Thank you for your awesome support from the very beginning. Jury still out on the next project, but I will let you know towards the end of this one. Still a way to go on this Hetzer...it is smaller but quite complex. Have a great weekend.
The wheel camo is super crazy. But the Germans were a bit far out when it came to camo. Great vids. Cheers. PS I always drive with 2 sticks. like the on the spot pivot.
Thank you. I am looking forward to getting the Camo scheme on the Hetzer...Like you say...there is at least 20 different variants of Camo....very inventive as each one had its purpose. Two stick driving...now that is a skill.

sorry to hear that.
Tony: Nice technique on the "wash" work to show age. This is a nice finishing touch and cannot wait for the finish. Will be sad to see this show come to an end, so maybe time to pick up another to do. Any ideas for another build?
Hi Bill and thank you. Still in early negotiations with the boss on that😂
Another fine video, including the 'Metal Gear Solid' appearance of your son 😆 Also thanks for showing everything, including the paint spraying of the parts, boring to some, but therapeutic to watch for others (me) Interesting take on the weathering approach, and thoroughly understand your reluctance to 'beat it up' Always a horses for courses view I guess, personally I'd let my damage & weathering occur naturally over use, but unfortunately I don't have 1/6th projectiles to lay down fire, so I guess there's a need for the 'persuader' as my builder friend used to call his hammer! Anyway, sterling work as ever, and by the way, I asked at the local butchers for sausage fingers and he told me they had sold out! 😉
Thanks Martin. Ben does a great job in editing these videos for me and we both like to humour them up a bit. I did set out to show the entire build process so a better understanding of building these kits could be demonstrated. Glad to hear that you enjoy the whole process. Love that term "the persuader" ...defo will be involved at some point. Sausage fingers🤣. Hope all is well and have a great rest of the week.
Hi Tony. I had given up on weathering, but after watching this video, I decided to do it too, just like Tony did! Tony's videos provide motivation that finished photos cannot. Thank you for always giving me good inspiration.
Hi and thank you. I am very happy that you are finding my videos informative and motivational. This was my intention. Thank you also for your continued support. Have a great week.
Tony, nice build - you have a talent to build and converse with ease! I really enjoy watching your progress! What type (manufacturer) of paint are you using to replicate the dunkelgelb. It appears difficult to find in rattle cans.
Hi and thank you for your very kind words of support. I use: Fosco - 400ml Military Style SPRAY PAINT (Army Spray Paint - Dark Yellow (Dunkelgelb). Hope this helps.
hi tony, i was wondering what your thoughts are on concealing all the screw heads on the hull. i have noticed some people putty over them but i can see that this might be a problem if you have to take anything apart. how likely would the need be to take the hull sides off on any of the three builds you have done..........i am keen to see what your next build will be, i quite fancy the churchill but probably need to have a win on the lotto first, freight alone to NZ is horendous.
Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. I choose not to fill these fixings as I am always worried about having to gain access. Having said this, I have not had any issues with any of the tanks, so I suppose it would be ok. I will say however, that you really don't notice these when the tank is finished and painted, especially when you add accessories. I do hope you manage to get into this hobby and the Churchill does look a great kit. Armortek, do offer various payment plans, so this may be worth looking into. Hope you continue to follow me and thank you for your support. Best regards...Tony

Thank you
going to be a bit hard watching this coming to an end A bit like losing a treasured momento.
Hi Mark, thank you that is very kind. I have enjoyed this build very much but still more to go on this, as it is a complex model....And there will be more. Have a great weekend.
Are you not tempted to just let it weather through use.
Hi Terry and thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, but I think I would like to step up the detailing on this. I am planning to lightly weather it and distress only the side skirtings...The wheels and sprocket will find their own finish through usage.
