  • Wish I could give this video more than one thumbs up… I’m so relieved that you managed to take care of the interlocking armour plates at the front. They’ve been haunting my dreams ever since the glacis was installed. 😂 Please don’t take that as an insult. That’s not my intent. Cheers

  • y Saturday morning, Tony, and thank you again for another excellent video on this build, I have to admit that I would find myself utterly lost in that warren of electrical wiring, motors and various components, amazed that you feel so "at home" amid this tangle of wires and such, especially considering the very confined space in which you are now working, in retrospect the previous two projects must seem cavernous by comparison, and something I found very interesting (to me, I doubt another would even much notice) was watching you simultaneously on my screen AND on your own phone, there seemed just the slightest delay on your smaller screen, I'm sure there is a reasonable technobabble explanation but I found it fascinating in a mildly diverting way, and of course it's quite wonderful to see the M26 sitting there in the background, very much like seeing an old friend while visiting a new acquaintance, as always, I'm looking forward to our next visit

    • Thanks Jeff and apologies for the delay in responding. I was helping my two sons at the London ComicCon. I must admit, I have grown in confidence since I started and I do feel very comfortable with the electronics. I am looking forward to tidying the mess up and setting positions for switches etc, but as you say...it will be a challenge with the space and geometry restrictions. The M26 is still very much my favourite...I love the way it looks and drives. Thanks for your continued amazing support.

  • Hi Tony, happy to see another installment. I agree the idea to add those acrylic pieces was spot on. I wanted to add a comment about doing the weathering. In the end this is your build finish it the way you see fit. I made some suggestions, they were just that, just saying. It's looking amazing! The devil is in the details. Looking inside this model, it going to be a squeeze getting the speakers and everything else in there. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished interior. Yes, please do the Tiger maintenance video. Have a great weekend sir! Cheers!

    • Hi Michael and thank you. I have taken on board the weathering suggestions as I agree it needs to be done on this tank. I really want to step up the finishing aspect on this kit and I will be bashing those side skirtings for sure. It is going to be a very tight squeeze, but I am looking forward to setting up and setting out the electronics...The speakers are huge in comparison, but I am looking to stack some of the units using clear perspex on velcro to help make room. Apologies for delay in responding, I was helping my two sons at the London ComicCon where they launched(forgive the pun) the draw for their ESB Snowspeeder. Have a great week ahead.

  • Of course we want to see you maintain your Tiger... all your tinkering, or tanke'ring is worthy of a video. Its good content for those who may encounter problems down the line. I had a video pop up in my recommendations from a guy inside a Hetzer Jagdpanzer at Arsenalen, Sveriges försvarsfordonsmuseum - I was quite surprised as to how spacial the interior was, although the chap Hilary was fairly small, he seemed to get around with ease. Compared to Mr Hewes (another great channel) trying to move around in a cold war Russian T-55, I really have no idea how the crews operate those cold war Russian heaps! Great vid as ever, even though the electrical diagram looked as if was written in gibberish!!! 😆

    • Hi Martin, and hope all is well. Apologies for delay in responding I was helping my two sons at the London ComicCon over the weekend. I will definitely now film the maintenance of the Tiger thank you. I have seen some videos of the inside of the Hetzer and I am only 5 foot 8.🤣 I think I would struggle...three operatives, kit and shells...I think it would have been hell. Thanks for your comment on the initial electrics....If you think the diagram is Gibberish🤣, looking at the inside of the tank even without the addition of the speakers, audio unit and smoke unit, it's going to look like a huge bowl of spaghetti🤣 Have a great rest of the week.

    • @tonys_workshop no need for an apology... The Comic Con weekend sounds good, I must visit one of the capital events at some point. We have small local ones here in Norwich, and in Gt Yarmouth, plus Ipswich, but they don't really draw big star names. Although 2 years ago I met Brian Muir, who sculpted the original Stormtrooper armour (from the neck downwards) and Lord Vaders helmet, etc... he and his wife Liz were more than a match for any 'star' I'd like to meet... Hope you all had a good time and here's to spaghetti 🍝

There was mainly Doc Who celebs there and a few comic artists, but I had no time to meet them The boys are trying to get into the big MCM event in October and I will definitely be there. If you gat a chance to go to this, it would be great to meet you. It is in the Docklands London Excel.

Thanks also for your continued support.

  • Looks like my comments re a Lazy Susan turntable on an earlier video got deleted by YT - possibly because I included the name of a UK bearing supplier offering a wide range of Lazy Susan bearings. They are widely used in kitchens etc and come at various load ratings up to 500 or 1000 lbs. I've been looking at including one as an add on to your motorcycle stand idea, and recessing it into a 'pit' on my workbench to make maintenance jobs easier in the future. If I crack on a bit it'll also help me with the construction of my M26...

    @keith-morgan@keith-morgan2 ай бұрын
    • I think that is a great idea...Not sure why YT would do that, but what an exceptional idea....How is your build progressing?

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshopАй бұрын
    • Thanks for asking, Tony: I'm still at the lower hull stage, but unfortunately my M26 build has stalled due to some major domestic building works but they're due to end in a couple of weeks time and I'll get my workshop back. You were right in an earlier message when you said I should get other distractions out of the way first, but at least I've got all the option kits at hand now so there won't need to be any back tracking to fit them once I can get started again👍 At least it's given me the opportunity to re-watch your videos and properly read the Armortek instruction manual in the meantime!

      @keith-morgan@keith-morganАй бұрын
    • If you get stuck on anything, please do not hesitate to ask me and I will try my best to help. Did you have the same issue with the cast front section and mudguards or have they resolved that now?

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshopАй бұрын
    • Yes - your video was very useful, thanks. Currently my casting is marked out ready to grind or mill the excess strip off it in the same place as yours. I ordered and received a set of die grinder tools for my garage air tool but I kept putting off the actual removal of the metal, and I'm now toying with using a flat faced tungsten carbide milling cutter instead. If all else fails I'll just file it by hand like I was going to do originally! As well as some excess casting in that area there were also a few missing patches so I used metal filled car body filler to deal with those. Slow but sure... @@tonys_workshop

      @keith-morgan@keith-morganАй бұрын
    • Oh yes...the cutting out and removal of that section was so much fun🤣 Which ever way you find to do the job, I am sure it will work...it is only aluminium so relatively easy but somewhat time consuming. I wish you well for the rest of your build Keith and thanks again for your continued support.

  • I added a link to a Hetzer walk around to help, looks like YT removed it, it showed good detail of the glacis join, there should be no step where the mud guard attaches, perhaps you can do a search yourself. Hope this helps. A late Panther would be nice…….

    • It is those fine details that make the difference on builds like these. I touch on this in my next video, but I love the fact that we all place our own stamp on these models and although the kits are manufactured so they are identical, each and every one completed has their own builder inspired look. @steve1315@steve13152 ай бұрын
    • Hi Steve, thank you...yes that is incredible. On this model in particular I was concerned that the servos are working and engaging correctly with the links, as once I have completed the mock welding, it would a nightmare to remove the Glacis plate to access. The Tiger gets a lot of use..I think it is the main turret rotation motor that has slipped from its slotted fixings, but will be looking at this very soon.
