  • Tony, great to see the Tiger back once again, although sorry that you’ve decided to sell it, particularly after all the hours of hard work that you’ve spent on it. However, as I’ve mentioned before, space and funds are so vital in maintaining a ‘fleet’ of armoured vehicles. I do hope that your find a worthy home for it. I’m really looking forward to your Land-Rover project, having spent many uncomfortable hours of my life in British Army Landies all round the world, although never in a Series One! Keep up the outstanding work 👍🏼

    • Hi Peter and thank you. I am fond of the Tiger, especially as it was the first, but as you say and understand, space and funds are vital to maintain this new 'tank building addiction' . My Uncle had an old Series 1 on his farm many years ago and I used to drive it...not easy, but still very fond memories...He has long since passed and have no idea what happened to his 'pet' I am looking forward to building this as it has a lot of sentimental value to me, but also a new learning experience...As this one is a '50's series, not sure how to militarise it, but researching now to see what path to follow. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thank you for your continued support.

  • Hi Tony, I used to use the spirals for document binding to tidy up cables, easy to fit and remove. If you have a soldering iron with removable tips you can fit a screw bit and apply heat much better to release thread lock without threat of other damage

    • Hi Steve and thank you. Yep...Tiger has now taken a deposit and will be off to it's new home at the end of April...I am a tad sad, but the guy buying it absolutely loves it and has followed the build since the start as well, so he knows what he is buying. Yes...James Taylor...also a doyen in all things 'Series 1 rover' Who knew?🤣🤣.

Weather has improved here in the UK...looks like Spring has eventually arrived.....Managed to get all my painting done over two weekends....but really pleased with results...videos back up on the Hetzer again next week. I would love to see your project when complete as it sounds incredible. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  • Glad to see you back. I'm a little bummed about the Tiger, but I do understand. Sorry to hear about the continued foul weather, we had a seemingly endless winter here in Iowa 22-23. I hope your new kit arrives soon, that should be an interesting build. I'm looking forward to seeing the painting portion on the Hetzer. I hope you have a great weekend/week! Cheers!

    • Hi Michael and thank you. Yes..me too, but nobody has come forward yet to buy, so I may end up keeping it. I really need to make some room and raise some funds so I can continue building...Fingers crossed some one ends up taking new ownership and looks after it as well as it deserves. Weather is now improving here in the UK and over the last two weekends have managed to complete the initial painting of the Hetzer...Videos up starting again next week...just waiting for my son Ben to do his magic on the editing. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thank you for your continued support.

  • Thanks for the insight into your maintenance work on the Tiger, Tony. Sorry to hear you're looking for a new home for it though. I saw your posting on the forum and understand the space and budgeting constraints, although personally I wouldn't let go of it easily... Good Luck, and Cheers👍

    • Thanks Keith and much appreciated. Yeh, I am sad about letting it go...that is if it actually sells, but I do need the space and the funds to keep my 'Tank build addiction' going. It is an incredible model and works so well...I hope it does eventually find a new home with someone who will enjoy using it. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  • Blimey, the Landrover project was quite a surprise to me! But, it won’t stop me from following you along on this one, too! Wise words and great show on the Tiger maintenance! Hope you find a buyer soon! I dream about the Jagdpanther. But, living on the first floor with no elevator, and no workshop as yours, I don’t know. Time will tell. Greetings from Germany, Thomas

    @Th.G.M.@Th.G.M.Ай бұрын
    • Hi Thomas, greetings from the UK and thank you for your amazing support. The series 1 made sense to me as it takes up a fraction of the room and the cost is more affordable. This would suit your current set up as it does not need a lot of room. Best of all, you can actually carry it...as it only weighs 12kg without the option packs...so, can't see it weighing much more than 15Kg when complete, thats lighter than the Turret on the Tiger🤣. I hope the Tiger does find a new home as it is an amazing kit. Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

  • Morning Tony bud whoever gets the tiger will be very lucky done a cracking job on the build Series one land-rover be something completely different from the Tanks, Look forward to seeing it take shape, The leopard you surprise me Didn't think you were in to the modern stuff Compared to the tiger bud it is massive barrel will be around a meter long and the hull will be much longer and it's going to be really heavy I saw the chieftain at the AT open day and boy what I bit of kit absolutely massive similar in size, sadly they won't make them again would have liked one Not keen on the Jagdpanther release? Look forward to the next one

    @garyrafferty8653@garyrafferty8653Ай бұрын
    • Morning Gary, thanks mate...yeh...a tad sad but I am running out of space and really do want to raise funds to build the Leopard. I know it is a modern tank, but from what I have seen from Armortek it is insane how well it looks and operates. I agree with you on the Jagdpanther....I would have loved to see them release the 'Comet'. I chose the Series 1 because of it's size, cost and to provide a different challenge...it is also something I can see me handing down to my Grandson...if he stops taking my tools🤣

  • Tony, the two item i am referring to look like spacers, or heat sinks. One has the on off switch and the other has nothing! I also assume you need two comfort connectors to charge each battery separately.

    @davidligon2003@davidligon2003Ай бұрын
    • Hi David, oh I see what you mean now...sorry....They are only aluminium angles set on timber blocks...I was going to mount the power switch and smoke control that side, but the leads were better served on the other side. I left them in place as one of them acts as a support for the speaker. Yes two comfort connectors required, one for each battery. Hope this helps.

  • Good video. What are the two items that are between the speakers and the rear of the hull? The doner figures, where do you get them, and do you need to supply the uniforms. The electrical connections of the figures go to where?one other question, on the remote charger leads, what do you have on the leads to keep them from shorting in the tank? Good job as usual!

    @davidligon2003@davidligon2003Ай бұрын
    • Hi David and thank you. I guess you are referring to the Smoke unit and the main relay block that connects the smoke unit to the sound card within the audio unit. The figures are either from the DID or Dragon range of 1/6 scale figures. You purchase these with what ever uniform you require and then send them off to "Churchill Creations" or similar and then he takes the head, the uniform and other parts, creates the animatronic figures and send them back to you. You decide how you want to power them I elected to have hard wired back to the batteries with connectors. I use the CTEK MXS 5.0 Battery Charger with Automatic Temperature Compensation units and these come with insulated connectors with caps to prevent any shorting out. Hope this helps.
