    • Well, they were not actually related, were they? He had different parents, and she did. Only his mother then lived with her father. But I never understood it the way they shared a parent. I don't say it's ok but, well, it's a bit different from actually sharing a biological parent.

    • She was very charming and Cher had growth. With the wrong actress it could have been just a shallow vapid teen girl but I felt like Cher had a genuine heart she just kept messing up when she involved herself in other people's lives which is the whole plot of the movie. Alicia Silverstone was perfect

  • I love how the movie relishes in the fact that it's the '90s. Much like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, it defines the decade so well that it becomes practically timeless.

    • @@Cuzjudd the movie is SOOO dripping with 90's culture that it almost feels like a modern period drama set in the 90's. it doesn't feel dated - it feels intentionally vintage. you watch it totally aware of the context of the era it's set in.

  • “There’s not really much of a plot to this flick…” Funnily enough, that’s the joy of it, to me. When Amy Heckerling stops focusing on plot and lets the actors be themselves, it becomes a funny and thoughtful character piece.

    • The '50s was the nostalgia decade for the '70s, the '60s was the one for the '80s, the '70s was for the '90s (though anti-'70s attitudes thrust the '80s into that role)... After that, I lost track at the time. But by this time, the tendency to make it 2 decades back, the nostalgia decade for the 2020s should be... the 2000s. (okay, NOW I feel old!)

  • I have based my entire parenting style around Dan Hedaya's portrayal of Cher's father. Gruff, scary, intimidating, genuine, loving, never abandons people under his care for any reason, and most importantly, will threaten to kill potential dates. "If anything happens to her, I have a shotgun and a shovel. I doubt anybody will miss you!"

  • If we want to play with young Paul Rudd, he did a movie called "Overnight Delivery" with Reese Witherspoon. If you did an Honest Trailer for that, you could pretty much mash it up with Road Trip to show how they both have basically the same plot.

  • Clueless is one of those movies that you expect to be crap but actually is a great flick. The writing saves it, truly. It’s definitely from a bygone era - nowadays when you expect a teen romp movie to be crap, it is.
