Of all the members in the gang, I think Scooby got the best treatment in Velma by virtue of avoiding being in it.
The dog had more dignity. Or at least a better agent.
"WHERE IS THE F***ING DOG!"😠🤬
Scooby's agent needs a raise
Him and Shaggy. Norville is his own thing
He had to take his nephew Scrappy out on a walk and avoided the bullet.
This show did the unthinkable and united the entire internet.
You know you're right it does feel good when we can all collectively hate something together very good bonding I hate this show and I love you for hating it

Don't worry. A month from now we'll be back to destroying each other. I hate the Internet.

Congratulations Scrappy, you are no longer the most hated thing in this franchise.
Oh ya scrappy, wonder what he thinks of this show
Perhaps we treated you too harshly
Honestly, I hated Scooby Doo in its original form, so this probably not great, either.
Weird to think that Scrappy was actually popular when he was first introduced No, really, the ratings of the show were tanking and went back up _after_ Scrappy came into the mix
Duh duh duh DAH duh DAH! SLOPPY WRITING!
This is the closest I will ever be to watching Velma
If you haven't actually watched the show, then you have no right to pass comment on it.
@@goodtimestobehad The trailers for this show did itself no favors. Trailers are to hype interest and granted there have been movies that had great trailers and did not perform well when watching the whole thing but if Velma's trailers are a highlight of the show, ya I don't blame anyone for not watching it. By your logic I bake you a pie and put whatever I want into it, but you can't judge it because you didn't eat it even though you can see what I put in it & it isn't going to be pleasant, but you still can't say anything bad about it because you haven't eaten it. Also, word of mouth is very powerful and generally (not always) it is a good indicator of something being worth watching.
@@goodtimestobehad you can pass a comment of a show based on a trailer or review, stfu Go enjoy this garbage and know your place

Respect to the Honest Trailer writers who actually suffered through this mess of a show just to bring us this video
Mon Mothma: "Many writers died...to bring us this Honest Trailer."
Agreed.
They have my prayers and some holy water.
Someone had to I certainly won't XD
They went through she hulk and the transformers movies they have suffered so much love them ❤️🫡
"If you can't tell what the target of the jokes are, it's you for watching it". This is such a perfect sentence describing the humor of this show.
They tried to be South Park by being edgy, mean-spirited and "making fun of everyone equally". But they forgot the key ingredient of South Park: be funny.
@@EnclosedPoolArea hot take: being mean-spirited will never be funny
@@noalowenstein6741 it can be, but it takes skill and finesse. The writers for Velma clearly lack both

@@CartoonHangout That is an unfair comparison. Trey Parker is, quite literally, a comedic genius. We writes these episodes and produces them within the span of weeks. Utterly amazing!
Velma definitely feels like it was written by people who hate Scooby Doo and anyone who watches it.
No Duh
Thats almost every classic franchise currently
@@Jetstoanywhere Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, even Marvel is turning that way...
I find it bizarre how often that happens. Sometimes when you bring passionate fans to adapt a popular franchise it can still flop but you rarely see people who dont like a franchise making an adaptation that turns out good. Reminds me of how some old comic book movies flopped and the people making the movie say they hate comic books. That's like hiring a militant PETA vegan to cook your steak and having them flop a T-bone that's been cooked to charcoal on your plate and acting surprised about the result.

We all owe Scrappy-Doo an apology after watching this show
No, he still sucks more than this..
some people are still actively looking for flying pigs after this revelation...
No, no we don't. We just need to dig another grave beside his.
The only thing I owe Scrappy-Doo is a case of C4 shoved where the sun don't shine. Followed by a Hydrochloride Acid gargle.
Puppy Power!!! 😂
This ‘rucking’ show managed to get people to miss Scrappy. That’s an achievement in and of itself.
Not many remembers Scrappy anymore. And it's sad.
I actually like Scrappy, though the only stuff I’ve watched that involved him was the ghoul school movie, the movie where Shaggy became a werewolf (at least I think he was in there) and the live action movie when he was the villain. So I guess I dodged what made people hate scrappy for
Scrappy wasn't even that bad.
@@DimkaSulegnaa The Reluctant Werewolf is great. It's like Wacky Races, but with monsters.
Honestly I don't stiill don't miss Scrappy. I actually kinda like him tbh but at the same time, I know how to laugh at the Live Action movies (the ones where Scrappy was the villain lol) but Velma the series is crap.
"Jokes that sound like an AI mixed Family Guy with blue check Twitter and somehow didn't kill itself." I found it. The greatest line ever spoken.
They nailed it.
Funnier then anything written for the show....
Post-season 4 family guy to be exact.
I really thought this would be a mediocre trailer like the one for Incredibles II or something like Ghostbusters 2016, but *nope.*
Hey, remember how the Scooby gang are supposed to be friends!!! Like they actually value each other, get along, and don't ruthlessly bully each other for things they can't control.
Pepperidge Farm remembers
I do.
What happens when you allow a petty narcissist to take free reign of artistically reinterpreting the show. She threw out all the things she doesn't understand lol
This show motivated a friend of mine to contact some editors to publish some of his writings. He told ad verbatim that "if something like that can get greenlighted, then (he) had more than his chance." Thank you show for being so bad that you might have kickstarted my friend's career.
Did he get published?
"If you love revisiting your favorite childhood cartoon but also hated everything about it." Such a perfect summation.
Damn what you doing here homie.
Too true Shady.
Yep. This trailer is a godsend.
Basically what a lot of remakes do sadly
Wait...FRANK WELKER IS IN THIS!?!? FRANK!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!
It’s amazing how they try to make Fred unlikable, but he’s actually the most likable. At least, in a sympathetic way.
They tried to give him "privilege" while also clowning on and abusing him every chance they got. Literally tried to have their cake and eat it
A good rule of thumb for writing is that if you’re the butt of all the jokes, you’re not the most privileged character in the show.
Not really because he might be a serial killer. Wait a second...I think I might be mixing him up with the golden god.
He's literally the only one with character development.
@@lilywoodrow7881 Just like real life "white male privilege". Remember how n*zis persecuted j3ws because "j3ws control the banks, j3ws are rich, eat the rich"?
“Ruc no!” This was funnier than anything in the entire cartoon.
True.
That's a low bar. But accurate.
Every joke in this trailer is funnier than the show
Funny!
What's actually painful is the animation and art for the series is unironically on point. Like these animators are seriously putting in work while the show itself insults its entire audience. There's nothing more sad than that.
The animation looks boring and generic.
The voice acting is decent too. Complete waste of talent all around.
@@AlphaQHard in terms of character design, perhaps, but the movement is actually very fluid and expressive. Shame I despise literally everything they are expressing XD

"They canceled all the wrong shows..." That line hit me right in the feels. The Venture Bros gets canceled after seven epic seasons that felt SO CLOSE to an organic conclusion, and Velma gets approved for a second season after being critically slammed from every corner of the room. Mystery Incorporated is what finally showed me how high the character writing can be. Velma showed me how low they can sink
It's like they they got a bunch of writers who knows nothing of the show, did no research and only from a basic sentence purposefully torpedoes the characters
“In this day and age, comedy equals issue plus reference.” Exactly what I’ve been thinking. I can’t believe the amount of movies that shamelessly reference other movies just to make people giggle. It’s so insufferable

You're much better then any therapist.
It's not useless. It has served us in letting us know that just when you think something isn't possible it is.
If you're not already a motivational speaker, you should be. I support it! 🤚
Bad does mot equate to useless. This show was HBO Max's number one animated premiere and just got green lit for a season two. In a lot of ways BECAUSE it's bad and everyone hates it and talks about it.
ok
You can hear the agony in the honest trailer guys voice. We salute you for your sacrifice.
The worst part is that the original idea of the show was that the scooby gang was faking the ghosts for views on social media. And they had finally found a real demon/killer. The show would have actually being interesting.
That sounds like a much better show 😅
It's also such a great set up thematically. Like they are through all the fake ghosts in town after town because they are all using basic tricks the gang used to use themselves.
It was smart to show a lot of footage from the show because they knew none of us acrually saw it.
Ya I basically watched like only 30 min total of the whole season, the rest I listened to it while working at Amazon lol
I still can't believe the advertising actually had Velma's 420 "joke" in it. They simply didn't understand the difference between cynical and mean spirited.
Im one of the people that just watched reviews of brave youtubers who went thorough all the pain just so we didnt have to
I never watched the show, but I argued that it is actually good in youtube comments. It's really very entertaining and I'm glad they made it the way they did
Facts

On top of stating how literally EVERYONE feels about this show, it's actually quite catchy
The SAVAGERY of HT right here! Love it! 🥰
Both Zombie Island and Mystery Incorporated showed how the property could be done with darker storylines while still being true to the heart of the franchise, a group of people and a dog solving mysteries. Not a vehicle for a has-been actress.

Am I crazy or did that sound like They Might Be Giants?* *It's a trick question, I am very crazy.
Mindy is the sole definition of the word "Privilege" itself. She grew up in a upper class, went to an ivy league college & never had to struggle in her life to get where she's today now. She made Velma herself insert but this version of Fred is actually HER.
This!!!! There was a good commentary talking about this. Plus there are some gross comments about the poor in this show.
Not to mention her super problematic treatment of Jewish characters.
So, she's an Indian in America
Somebody her age being this bitter about "these days" is just tragic, too

1:46 WOAH WOAH WOAH. WHO DF LET SCRAPPY-DOO IN THE CHAT???!!
Let's not forget what Mindy confessed to Conan O Brian's show. If any of us did what she did being sued for sexual harassment would be the least of our problems.
Y'know, I think we owe Scrappy-Doo an apology. He's no longer the most annoying Scooby Doo character anymore.
Looks like they managed to make all the characters in this show more annoying than Scrappy-Doo and that is quite an accomplishment!
@@mlaridon RIGHT?!
Even when I was young, I don't find Scrappy too annoying
Thank you for recognizing the greatness that is "A Pup Named Scooby Doo". Never gets mentioned enough.
I loved the music in that show!
@@theaccursedj.e.2723 That music will forever be ............................ Legendary!!!!
And the Raja Gosnell movies too. They might not be perfect, but the casting is great. And, you know, Scooby-Doo and the gang actually solving mistery in a Scooby-Doo property. Crazy right?
@@enry2337 I'll say. So much so that the actor who played Shaggy in those movies went on to voice the character in future animated projects.
I remember watching that before school on Cartoon Network. Good times man
I have never gotten more entertainment from a show I hadn't watched, gad the outrage was hilarious.
"Who is this for?!" For Mindy Kaling's self-insert fantasy~
I will give this show credit for one thing: making me realize that maybe I was too harsh on Mystery Incorporated.
Wait you didn't like mystery Incorporated?
Come on how could you not love Mister E, the traps trope, etc. great show!
@@maiconsilva4205 I didn't like it either, wayyyy too dramatic for a Scooby Doo series
@@nightpandas7178 After re-watching some of it, the show has some good stuff in it for sure. It was mainly all the time spent on the love drama that ruined it for me, particularly the mess that was Shaggy and Velma's relationship. I didn't think I would ever see a worse take on their relationship than that, but this show proved me wrong.
I have not come to the same conclusion.
"Like if your typical Mindy Kaling creation was a more overt cry for help." LOL!! That line, whoever wrote that was genius. I felt like they were reading my mind.
Velma was actually really impressive. They managed to create Weird Al Yankovic content that nobody wants to watch.
I love when something so abysmal comes along and unites everyone from almost all different sociopolitical backgrounds in our shared abhorrence and disgust.
What I love most about this is that it’s mostly just clips of the show speaking for itself 😂😂
Yep, just had to let it roll and it was roasting itself no problem.
I love the parody song. It fits perfectly. 👌😄
A clip out of context with an insult spoken about it is not representative. You didn't watch the show, huh?
@@oakofthenorth Alright buddy, we get it: you like the show.
@@oakofthenorth u r the one of tens of people that liked the show
In seven and a half minutes the Honest Trailer managed to be infinitely funnier than and an entire season of the actual show.
"Cartoon Network's through, slashed in two. They canceled all the wrong shows." RIP Mao Mao
I avoided this show like the plague.... but even watching this I lost a few brain cells by just the few clips... Thanks to Screen Junkies for that the hit...
The narrated comments at the end were funnier than the actual show. Velma managed to unite everyone against it which was something I didn't think was possible anymore.
Right?
