Especially since a total of 3 teen girls that need to be protected was pointless for the plot, and could have been done with 1 girl. Same result could be achieved, and cost less money. The movie is just so baffling...

  • "When you take on the responsibility, great power will come." Uncle Ben is turning over in his grave right now. You can't just swap the order of a famous quote around and call it clever writing.

    • Well, you CAN, if the point was supposed to be the reverse of the original. Ben's quote means "You get to be great, but that means you have to take care of others". MW's means "If you put up with this tedious stuff, you can have fun". They imply VERY different things about the character's moral alignment, and MW comes off worse for the comparison.

  • This movie is supposed to be set in 2003, yet has the song Toxic by Britney Spears that wasn’t released until 2004, and has someone using a PSP that wasn't released until 2005. So not much 2003 in this supposedly set 2003 movie.

    • Toxic Single was released in 2004, the album "In the Zone" WAS released in 2003. So they did get 1 thing right. It is impressive that they could not get the era right for only 20 years ago. Of the stuff that was not CGI in Oppenheimer, that is much older props that were found.

    • @@nygmail6499 Kristen Stewart is actually VERY talented...when...when she cares. She was great in Spencer and in Underwater. The rest of the time...eh... But Johnson...well, she's fanservice, though she did do a decent job in Battle at the El Royale. On the press tour you could see she was only there for the paycheck and KNEW it would be bad. Hey, at least Raul Julia and Dennis Hopper knew they were in stinkers, but still gave it their all. Especially Raul Julia, RIP.

  • I mean, there are literal water spiders. Some developed the extremly cool ability to use their silk to create little bags of air that they use like a scuba diver. Also, the barking spider (Selenocosmia stirlingi) is a spider from the tarantula family native to australia.

  • I still think it's funny that everyone blames those two hack writers. In this case, they only did the first draft. The actual script was finalized by S.J. Clarkson and Claire Parker. Almost all the bad dialogue was added by them

  • One of the funniest and most unrealistic things in this film is how quickly the kidnapping thing escalates Sidney's character shouts for help. 2 minutes later a whole bunch of cops show up. Another 2 minutes later there's already a news bulletin on the radio. A few hours later it's already front page news on a newspaper in New Jersey 😂
