"Don't you love grain?" I don't like grain. It's coarse, rough and it gets everywhere.
bruhhh😂😂😂
Nice.
Top tier Anakin whining reference
😅😅😅😅
This movie is so bland it dosn't has the guts to have bad dialogue like that.
If Snyder’s movies were any slower he’d technically just be a photographer.
😂😂😂😂😂
Good one!🤣
Ya got me. Take my thumbs up.😝
best comment so far in 2024!!!!!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Having watched the movie (please have pity on me and my poor choices) I have to say you nailed every aspect perfectly. None of this is even satire, it's all exactly what the movie did. Well done.
I think most of the people in this comment section have watched the movie, so pity for your choices won't be necessary.
I haven't and based on this HT I am so glad I didn't.
Too many of us watched this...we are all pitiable in our choices.
100% this honest trailer is on point. It is Seven Samurai in space. Done horribly. It may sound fun! But nope, it is just a really horrible movie. And I will watch the 2nd part and the full cut. Because someone has to.
"I don't have time for pity!"
'This is nemesis, she's got my back' 😂😂😂👌 elite reference
They made 2 such references. For the barbarian guy right afterwards.
"I dont know if I can love, or be loved", "they told us love was weakness" ten minutes later At the academy they encouraged us to fall in love with a colleague so we have something to fight for
Quality writing if u ask me
Oh Grow up! You just don't understand a Zack Snyder film -something a Zack cultist would say
Two different "they"s, I suppose?
Watch out not to lose the imaginary argument you're creating in your head@@chickenpit9991
That was a whole ten minutes ago…keep up
The callout to the Netflix CC guy almost made the whole movie worth it.
I was not expecting that. Sheer brilliance--er, I mean sheer sagacity/inventiveness/perspicacity!!!
Yes
That was by far the best part of the entire experience this movie offered.
Move over, “squelching.”
The closed caption comment was risible. 😜 Seriously , I’m hard of hearing (and an English major), and we’ll be watching a show, and not the dialog , but the little SDH description will be some $10 dollar word … “wait! Hold up, what the hell word did they just use?!”
I'm so glad they called out how this movie has both actors who played Daario Naharis in Game of Thrones. That was all I could think any time I saw them both on screen
I’m glad the “she’s got my back” line now has its own trilogy. All it needs is a Snyder cut version and we’ve come full circle.
What was the second one?
@@OmniversalOrca it’s in the Avatar trailer I believe.
Audiences: "Why do we have to wait four more months to the sequel to Dune?!" Studios: "Nonsense, we have Dune at home!" Dune at home:
I forgot there was another Dune coming tbh

@@CrypticCocktails march???
'Can't we just watch Dune from 1984? We won't understand it, but at least it has a great soundtrack.'
@@NeoConnor1 Oh you can understand it. You just have to watch it like 2...maybe 3 full times. With a bit of time between each one for your brain to reorganize itself accordingly :P
Rebel Moon: Part One had more blatant exposition than slo-mo cinematography, which is REALLY saying something for a Zack Snyder film.
Interestingly Snyder can do show, no tell. He can make the most terrible fascinating movies
Plot Twist: Part Two will be the greatest Movie ever
@@mani3390only with a director cut. That too in black and white. 😂
Zack Night Snymalan
@mani3390 You mean part 2 of Dune, right?
you missed the Harry Potter scene with the Hippogriff where you need to bow down before flying
Whenever a big budget movie lets us down, at least a fantastic honest trailer follows to lift us up.
"A man hated by his own barber" with a zoom in got me lmao.
Maybe he's so paranoid that he cuts his own hair, like Kim Jong Un.
Some foreingers try to steal grain from farmers and someone related to the crown goes on an adventure to find heroes to fight back is also the plot to Pixar's 'A bug's life'
But even that movie had more twists and depth cause the "heroes" were fakes.
@@coleedgecombe5944 A Bug's Life is much more interesting way of playing with the 7 Samurai's plot. This is just bad.
A bug's life IS the 7 samurai, is a known thing
I love the part in this about DC holding him back because I'm now already seeing people say Netflix is holding him back. I wish they would. Truly. He needs to be told no. He has good ideas in there but he needs someone to help him make it not suck. This is like the nonsense I wrote when I was 10.
Also, Zack Snyder should not be allowed to write. In most of his movies, his characters talk like no actual human being should. Zack Snyder thinks his writing is poetic but Zack Snyder is wrong, DEAD WRONG.
He doesn't need to be held back, he needs to be held in contempt.
So he’s pretty much the George Lucas of his generation?
I am still shook by the fact that the Dario Nahaaris looking guy wasn't Dario Nahaaris but both Dario Nahaaris actors are in this movie playing other people.
Snyder’s rudimentary understanding of humanity always makes his work a fascinating watch. Why should we care about the characters? Because they are strong and good looking he would probably say
Oh yes, this. What also fascinates me are the producers and investors giving him big bags of money to do whatever he wants, when he has so clearly demonstrated he does not understand how humans normally interact. He's good at cinematography though, and...mainly just that.
@@egregius9314and then those same investors will get all the blame from his fanboys whenever people have the nerve to not been blown away
Meh, I think he does a good job of picking diverse but good looking cast to strike the right balance of wanting to watch. Kind of tired of all the old granny superheroes in marvel lately
So you've just literally never watched any movie of his, have you?
Ah, Michael Bay logic
The Katana joke was absolute perfection.
For sure
I wouldn’t mess with Nemesis if I were you. Her swords trap the souls of her victims. Probably

Sounds like Greta Van Fleet's next album.

I think we can all agree that our favorite scene from Seven Samurai is the slow motion shots of people running.
Nope, it's the samurai jumping from the roof with the blade held high onto a wagon full of henchmen. IN SUPER SLOWMO.
Kurosawa rolling in his grave lmao
For me, the best part is the slo mo of samurai throwing grain into the dirt
@@92HazelMochain slo mo
Snyder graduated the Garth Marenghi’s school of film. His dedication of using every moment without dialogue for slow motion, I’m sure, makes Garth very proud.
Garth Marenghi would explain those subtitles.
"I know people that use subtext and they are all cowards" - Garth Marenghi
I too found it ridiculous that the General you risked your life to bring out, the strategic genius is just a foot soldier in the rest of the movie 😂
I thought that was really weird too. Like, huh? They recruited a tactician and just had him on duty like any grunt. Okay...
I like that Ab-Guy just never put on a shirt the entire movie, it made sense for him to not have clothes when he was a slave, but after he joins them no-one gives him anything to wear 😂
You are responsible for your own equipment on this mission :D
He was hot, I thought it was great
If there was a Beewb-Girl, I would also prefer her to stay topless, regardless of her being a slave or not. Who cares about character arc, anyway?
our dark-skinned Matt McConaughey
It's reverse Dobby. If he accepts a shirt some anyone now that he is free, he would become their slave.
1:47 "So we're gonna start the movie with some big ol' lady space parts." "What was that?" "And a big ship flies through the lady parts." "Oh, traveling through space privates is tight!"
My thoughts exactly when I saw that
I need you to get all the way off my back about lady space parts.
Nice quote from the Movie Pitch KZhead Channel.
I hate how the space hole opens floppily
Screen Junkies gave up "lady parts" jokes for Lent.
I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one who noticed the overachieving audio description captions 😂
LOL 5:03 The Trade-School AVENGERS!
Astral energy crepitates bit was so funny to me.
Especially considering "crepitate" originally meant "fart"
I didn't even know the word, but it looked so perfectly pretentious.
Kora and her band of space rebel friends were going for a walk. A very enthusiastic walk.
Oh cool, I like Space Walk.
Like Alucard?
Should have called it Kora the Explorer
And kill homicidal vampire priests?
A moon walk would you say?
his new trope, making is latest Turd into a bigger, longer, uncut Turd
"if your brain works in slow motion" 😂😂😂 biggest own lol
I eagerly await Screen Junkies releasing their R rated directors cut of this honest trailer!
same lol
The Snyde Cut?
@@reappermenyes, an Snyder Cut because Snyder can't do a good story under 150 minutes.
I read fanfics. I go to Wattpad sometimes. Let me just say that this movie plays out *exactly* like a fanfic. Down to the character names. Darrian "Bloodaxe"... seriously?
Just to be clear, a fanfic written by a 13 year old. (Older people can write bad fanfic too, it just has different terrible tropes)
Bloodaxe is named after a real warrior from history, just like Titus and Balisarius
@@thebeast268 Yes, but I had a huge let down when the guy showed up and didn`t had a HUGE EFFING AXE. P.S. Sorry for the caps.
I have literally read hundreds of fanfics far, far better than this movie.
Yeah, and ''Scargiver''. I'm just like what? It's a bit on the nose that one.
Is it just me or is Screen Junkies getting funnier with every trailer over the past few months? I love you guys 😄
they are, there was a slump but they are slowly coming back up
They reshuffled the writers a few years back and the pacing and timing felt real unfunny for a moment, but I’m glad they’ve worked things out, these are great!
I think it's just movies getting more pathetic.
@@BadFluffy the truth has been spoken
It's the material they are given to work with!
Robot and Spider lady were the most compelling characters in this movie and they both got about 5 minutes of action, or the equivalent of one Zack Snyder slo-mo grain sowing scene.
Honestly the most Zack Snyder film Zack Snyder has filmed
For now.
Careful his fans will think that's a compliment
Snyder went full Snyder and that sucked.
@@micahjohansson7573 Never go full Snyder.
The *most Zack Snyder... I dunno. That "honor" goes to either Rebel Moon or Sucker Punch. But since Rebel Moon is eventually a 5 hour slog... I guess it does actually go to Rebel Moon
I was a transcriber for over a decade, and captioning was a small part of the job but... ...I appreciate the nod to the person doing the captions because it's a bit of an art. or it can be.
Especially when crepitation is involved.
My chakra energy is precipitating.
How do u get that job?? I’ve been told i would make a natural transcriber bc of my memory for conversations lol
Probably the right place to give a shoutout to the person who made the captions for Stranger Things - I guess it wasn't easy to find new adjectives to describe the mood everytime a new synth piece was played (so, like 100 times in Season 4). Didn't like the whole thing that much anymore, it tried to be too many things at once and used too many tropes cranked up to 11, but I try to value the small things.
I'm very much looking forward to the 4 hour director's cut of this Honest Trailer.
The fact that they were both Dario Naharis is insane!
In honor of the slow-mo inside the slow-mo in Rebel Moon, please say: “Yo dawg, I heard you like a Snyder Cut, so we put a Snyder Cut inside your Snyder Cut.”
Is that like a fourth-wall break inside of a fourth-wall break?
@@nathanlau3275 That's like...16 walls!
Circumsnydered..
I remember I saw ads for this movie, and I thought to myself, "This looks like Star Wars but with a crappier aesthetic." Then I found out it was literally a rejected star wars script and realized "Ah, that's why." No regrets missing this movie...
It's 40k, so you'd be correct
that closed cap was funny at the end of this video it is like something from Grammarly that you did not catch before turning in then you send your work to your boss and he is like I love it! and later the closed cap person rereads there works and is like "what the heck this is not what I wrote! I though they said they loved it!"
Rebel moon feels like how Zack Snyder feels like when playing Starfield in 15fps. Also the Netflix thesaurus thing....darn accurate. I learnt a lot already!
What's interesting to me is that I watched this movie a week ago and I cannot remember anything, even after watching this trailer. Wins my award for the most forgettable movie, ever!
I agree with this, I remember enjoying it. I put it on a few days later to see why I enjoyed turned it off halfway through. I remember orange.
I blanked out for an unspecified time shortly after starting to watch The Rise of Skywalker at the cinema. When I regained consciousness, the Emperor and a million star destroyers had just... appeared. I will never know what happened to me in those lost hours, and for my sanity - and the sake of humanity - I think it is best if those horrors remain undisturbed!
@@Nathan.007 yes, it wasn't an awful movie, just entirely forgettable.
@@MinesAGuinness Nope, that was just how the movie was. One scene, no emperor and no million starships, next scene, BAM! Emperor is back and has a million starships.... somehow.
When will film makers realize that people don't like an incomplete movie? We want movies that can stand alone. Even if a movie is part of a trilogy, it still needs a complete story and a complete three-act structure. We feel so empty and unsatisfied after watching an incomplete movie, that's just how human psychology works.
THE NETLFIX CLOSED CAPTIONING GUY SHOWING OFF HIS NEW THESUARUS!!! OMG HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA
I did the math after I watched this, and I can't remember specifics, but essentially the Empire wanted the volume of a standard Olympic swimming pool full of grains. The same empire that can rip holes in space time, turn entire planets into cities, and resurrect dead people needs grains. And yeah, what about that spaceport where they couldn't *POSSIBLY* have grains?
"A man hated by his own barber." That phrase reminded me why I'm still in this world breathing
A movie about recruiting people and that is it. Characters? who cares. Plot? who cares. Slow mo? Yes
Well that would explain why it's part one.
@@benwasserman8223 found the bot.
That would explain why nobody cares!
And one where the recruitment process is a joke, leaving them all 2d characters despite the entire film dedicated to it. Terrible terrible terrible.
Abs? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaabs!
Star Wars plus Seven Samurai has already been done, if you can believe it. Battle Beyond the Stars, a Roger Corman-produced bit of fluff starring Richard Thomas, George Peppard, Sybil Danning and John Saxon.
Yeah he did! And I saw it in the theater! We were starved for sci-fi in those days. . 😢
There was also the sci-fi mecha Seven Samurai anime. Which is literally Seven Samurai adaptation but with cyborgs and mecha AND regular samurai with katanas and regular farmers and setting still. It even had the whole ‘the evil overlord cloned himself an heir’ thing lol.
There is an ENTIRE CLONE WARS ARC that is overtly Seven Samurai.
And bbts is entertaining. Rebel moon isn't.
You've missed out the best - Robert Vaughn, who was in the Magnificent Seven the first seven samurai remake.
please do the part 2, it's gonna be hilarious 😂
I was wondering where I had seen those two guys before. Thanks for reminding me they were both Daario Naharis.
Any movie that puts Daario Naharis up against Daario Naharis is certainly a movie that did that.
Casting Director be like "I Daario. I double Daario motherf***er!"
One of the movies of all time
Now I know why space ships and space guns and space gadgets always look so weird. It's because it makes them memorable. I couldn't tell you anything about the design of the ships, gadgets or guns in this movie five minutes after finishing it. The only memorable things were the lightsabers (obviously Star Wars) and the stuff they literally ripped off from Warhammer 40k (including the Commissar outfits and the shot of her waving the flag).
Sci Fi weapons fall into two categories: well-designed, distinctive props you will remember forever, and black-painted Nerf guns.
Also the Techpriests
@@brianalicePlus all the helmets and armor from Starship Troopers that got reused for the next two decades
@@nilus2k From firefly to power rangers, it always got a chuckle out of me.
Exactly! The design was so generic that it was boring.
Zack Snyder: “What if we make a Seven Samurai in the Star Wars universe” Disney: “We already did that. It was called Rogue One.”
That "flag in the stone" part at the end was just *Chef's Kiss*!!
When honest trailer is better then the actual movie
That's 90% of movies
Not the first time. Check Suicide squad
Honestly, for the last couple years, making a commentary more entertaining than the actual movie hasn’t been a high bar to meet
Not the first time it happened. WW84 and Dark phoenix trailer has entered the chat
Wait, it’s a movie? I thought it was a series.
I know a stuntman who worked on Rebel Moon. He said Zack Snyder was one of his favorite directors he's ever worked for, that he ran a great set where everyone was happy, treated everyone with remarkable kindness and fostered a really nice work environment. Honestly, that made me happy. His actual movies may be hyper-pretentious, dark, and just not very good, but at least everyone has a great time making them.
I'd love to agree with you (and I do really), but apparently Aliens was really stressful, and I know what I want to see replicated 😊
I wanna taste the stress and anguish through the celluloid
The quality of the movies are proportionally inverse of the kindness of the director Got it
This is what happened to Illumination too. Their movies are crap, but their work environment is goddamn amazing.
Isn’t this what we should expect of all bosses?
Thank God for Honest Trailers and Pitch Meeting. Saving my brain cells one release at a time.
I love how this movie is in such slow motion that 5 minutes isn't just enough time to outline the general script but to explain in detail ever single event that occurs in the movie. It's a great beer and pizza movie. You can pop out to grab the pizza while it plays and when you come back there's no problem catching up on the plot development.
So true lol I remember getting bored during the flashback with the princess and getting up without pausing the movie to help a roommate do something. When I came back the dog was slowlyyyyy running back in the snow lmao
I just didn't get it: 7 Samurai and Magnificent 7 are about organizing a small gang against a slightly bigger gang. This is about organizing a small gang against.. a whole empire (not just a battleship, which would be bad enough). I still don't get how a guy with a spear could just destroy a whole battleship.
A guy with a spear shouldn't even be able to punch through glass so thick it can withstand intergalactic travel.
totally agree, myself and my two children had a great time talking over the movie and pointing out all the bits that didn't make sense, but the bringing down a battleship with a spear was the pinnacle of bad writing.
Worse, he pierced the glass twice. After being shot in the chest.
So the 7 Samurai anime
Well they did it in Avatars. A lot.
Wow, watching that intro single clip of dialogue was absolutely all the Zach Snyder I needed. I’m set for life.

That scene with the robot was so good. The rest… yeah, This honest trailer is spot on.
The sequel better just focus on the robot and his quest to become one with nature and forget about all that rebellion stuff.
@@billybones1694 You know what the irritating thing is? According to the screenwriter, a ton of the scenes that got cut from Part One were about the robot becoming one with nature. They intentionally stripped out the most interesting part to get it a 2-hour runtime.
@@billybones1694that’s what the whole story should have been. The other characters are nonsense. And of course it’s the best actor too.

My favorite part of this movie was that it was the first two thirds of A New Hope with an Ocean's Eleven crew gathering montage stretched into the middle.
Is it just me that thinks that Snyder really regretted not casting Matthew's McConaughey's abs in 300 so now griffin guy ('s abs) is the closest he found instead ?
Even the way he talked (his 5 lines or something), probably Snyder direct him was "do your best Matthew McConaughey impression".
i swear this movie looks like me recreating my childhood fantasy characters with adult budget. it has all the looks and none of the depth.
