Sonic Heroes I feel is the game that needs a remake the most. I always said that if it was polished it wouldve been fire. On top of this many people have nostalgia for the game too since it was out on all consoles back in the day. It makes the most sense to bring back and frankly I cant wait!
Sonic Heros was the first Sonic game I ever played, and is still one of my personal favs. I played this game so much when I was a kid, and became a huge Sonic fan from this game. I am VERY much looking forward to a Heros remake, and I really hope they do it great.

In terms of remakes it comes down to a few things; the game’s accessibility as of right now, how much they’re enjoyed by fans/critics, how a remake can benefit the game, and how it sold back then.
Finally, Sonic heroes will finally be good For real though I’m super excited for the potential of this remake cause even as someone who loves heroes, it is FAR from perfect
Sonic Heroes getting a remake would make a lot od sense not because it was the first multiplatform game, but anywhere before Sonic Generations, Seaside Hill was essentially Sonic Team's poster stage for a while.
This could be the start of something very interesting as they can add changes and ideas that were part of the initial concepts but were discarded due to external factors such as limitations of the time, lack of time to work on these ideas, etc. imagine if the Sonic Heroes remake works out with improved and polished gameplay as well as high quality graphics and they decide to do this with other games like Secret Rings, Black Knight, Battle and so on? Could they reformulate the gameplay and do what was not possible before and further improve the original proposal and perhaps even correct certain things that could be considered plot holes? Seems like a good chance in my opinion

Actually I think one of the reasons they're considering the Unreal Engine is that it's MADE for bigger open world games, so I can see them using that for Frontier-esque stuff going forward, and most Boost like games would still use the Hedgehog engine. For example if they did a Modern 2.5D style game, like a Rush sequel they'd probably use Hedgehog engine for that.

There’s no way Sonic Team are just gonna abandon Hedgehog Engine 2 after they spent like, 3 years making it for Forces and using it in Frontiers. The Engine is a good one. The only real problem with it is it just can’t handle large render distances. Even Hedgehog Engine 1 with Unleashed, Colours and Gens had this problem. But it wasn’t as noticeable cuz you would Boost through everything. It was most noticeable with Frontiers and the open zone Unless the Heroes Physics and gameplay simply doesn’t work in Hedgehog Engine 2, I don’t see why they’d stop using the engine
As someone who loves Heroes, this has a ton of potential. I’ve always wished Silver and Blaze were in that game and a remake would be a great chance to add them.
Before getting into the action, you will select the game’s difficulty. Easy: falling only takes half a heart away, and you have infinite lives. Medium: falling into a hole costs you a full heart if you lose three lives and you restart at the checkpoint. Jumanji: once again, falling will cost a full heart; the enemies hit harder, and losing three lives restarts you at the checkpoint. I remember playing sonic heroes on gamecube and everytime I play team sonic and team dark and in in frog forest level I would be chase by a alligator and I would fall off from the stage and start the stage all over and it made me upset.
something important to remember about game engines i think is there's a lot more to them than just the physics or systems of an individual game. the engine is used to BUILD those physics and systems, so it can oftentimes be more versatile. it's case by case though, so we can't really say how easy it would be to use Hedgehog Engine 2 for a Heroes remake without seeing the engine for ourselves. either way i'm interested to see where this goes

if we’re getting new content i wouldn’t want them to mess with the story and introduce random characters that have no place in the heroes timeframe. i’d rather them do a full metal sonic campaign. just him. you can even give him the same playstyle switching i mean he’s a robot he could have a flying mode and a power mode to make up for it but just as a single character. this is HIS game let metal be raw again

Sonic Heroes makes sense because most of the Sonic crew will be made in the Heroes remake and modified into other remakes. Rouge and Shadow being the ones who will be re-used in Sonic Adventure remakes. Also the game is very cheap in the amount of assets made and re-used. And the amount of cutscenes to make.

Assuming that a Sonic Heroes remake is indeed happening, I'm getting hyped imagining the Metal Overlord fight will be handled in the remake, as this is one of my favorite final boss fights in the entire series.
Hopefully the remake will tweak the Metal Overlord fight so "What I'm made of" doesn't cut out when you use the Super Sonic team blast. And actually give us Super Tails and Hyper Knuckles rather than just normal Tails and Knuckles in gold shields.

Sonic heroes was one of the first ones I played. Still have an old original Xbox at my gramps place, where I played that, shadow the hedgehog and sonic collection lots. Not my favourite but it be cool if rumours are true tho I don’t know why now. Wonder if for stuff like adventure 1,2 they are saving that for later. 💙💛❤️

I like Ian Flynns work, but I feel like we could be asking for better. Or at least not treat him like if he is the only option for competently written Sonic stories.
Heros makes the most sense for a remake, heros is the one game stuck in the past consoles ( aside from PC and emulation. ) so putting it on newer consoles and allowing it to bring in more fans would be a win win. ( Heros was my first sonic game so I would love this. )
You know what has to be fixed in terms of remaking Sonic Adventure 1 (and 2)? Lip synching, camera angling, audio mixing, character designs and overall level design.

I think Zippo’s talking out of his ass, I don’t he actually knows the game they’re gonna be remaking. He probably knows SOME things, but I’m pretty sure he knows less than he lets on. But Sonic Heroes does sound like the most probable game to be remade/remastered. Also the fact that they recently brought SA2 and SA1 to Steam in Japan make me think it won’t be those.

Right now the word going around is that it's only in consideration at the moment. But I feel like it most likley will come to be purley due to the fact that we're hearing about it. Like if we're hearing about it and it's leaking, then chances are they're SERIOUSLY considering it. Its also just an objectively smart thing to do

I'm feeling mixed on it atm, i have a feeling they'll botch it again since they couldnt even get sadx and colours ultimate right and those are remasters, and frontiers doesnt really look the best with its presentation cuz of the pop in and the cyberspace controls were kinda bad. But sega is hiring more staff to work on sonic games, plus theyre getting a bigger budgets again (shadow gens looks like a massive upgrade), and this will probably be made in UE5 with the switch 2 in mind instead of og switch so no more potato hardware For general improvements I want to see them fix the controls, fix the collision detection, fix the rail switching (use shoulder buttons like unleashed and gens) and pls fix the controls in the special stages, make it play like gens 3ds those were the same but u could actually turn Also give us new models instead of re-using the frontiers and forces ones, which were already a re-use. The heroes models were the closest we ever got to uekawa's designs being transitioned to 3d, and im not really a fan knuckles and amy's models. If they want to re-use then use the tokyo 2020 models And Ian better not be cooking with those flashback scenes again lol, imagine if they randomly put up a flashback of shadow falling to his death in sa2 during the cutscene where rouge finds shadow in eggman's base 💀
I'm excited for Sonic Heroes to get remade. I never played the original and this looks like the perfect opportunity.
I really think it would be cool if for the campaign if it would be one long narrative with the teams switching out every mission or two, introducing their own unique team play styles and varying it up as you play rather than having the divided campaigns.

Heroes remake would be great. Side note first at the beginning Midori is a woman not a dude. Also another reason which I think you know but forgotten to mention it . Heroes game engine "Renderware" is owned by EA and it's very likely SEGA didn't want to deal and negotiate with EA for porting Heroes so they would have to do a remake from the ground up. There are games than originally ran Renderware gotten a remake instead porting/remastering because of this. Like Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated. The OG version was ran by Renderware
Ive never played heroes before but I've heard very mixed things about heroes so I do hope that if this remake actually happens that they greatly improve it over the original to the point where Heroes can be more universally loved by everyone

In terms of the games I feel need to return in some form, I’ve thought for a while that Unleashed needs a Remaster, whilst Heroes needs a Remake, so it seems hopefully one half of that wish has been fulfilled

If this Heroes Remake does exist, I will cry manly tears of joy! Sonic Heroes was my first ever Sonic game and I just need it now. Hope this does happen at some stage. Also Sonic Heroes is a game you can't get legit really any more unlike SA1&2. So assuming it is in development, it makes sense to do Heroes first then circle back to the other two imo.
Regarding adding more teams I've always imagined either Silver and Blaze (and someone else), the Babylon Rogues, Ray and Mighty (and someone else), or Fang, Bark and Bean, there are so many choices.
I’ve said it on other peoples videos. It makes the most sense to remake heroes first because if they fuck it up the fanbase won’t eat them alive like if they would if they remade the adventure games and messed up there. If it’s a success, then it will just pave the way for more remakes specifically the adventures and unleashed.

I understand and agree with a lot of the issues with Heroes, I still like it purely due to bias but I do get the issues and I feel like a remake can go a long way in fixing everything with the game. I get adventure 1 and 2 are the ones people want but many still say these games hold up, they don't need remakes as much as others. To me, a good reason to remake something is to modernise it, fix it and or make the game the creators wanted to make but couldn't due to limitations of some kind and I really don't think adventure needs that as much as games like Heroes, heck I'd even argue that 06 deserves a remake more than the adventure games. I completely understand the want for a way to play adventure games on modern systems and I get the want to play them with modern graphics and all that stuff but I feel like it'd be much better if we got a remake on a more divided game, fix it's issues and over all make a better product so more and more people can play a definitive and better version. remakes like P3 and the resident evil remakes to me feel like a great example, even though these games weren't originally bad the remakes helped it feel more modern and (especially in the case of RE) gave the developers the chance to fulfil the original vision of these games with modern technology and game design. I feel like Heroes could really benefit more than adventure can from that treatment.

I said it, a Sonic Heroes sequel would be a great way to introduce the IDW characters. Maybe a Sonic Heroes x Team IDW or whatever their team was. Could be a good way to introduce those characters. A heroes remake would be interesting, I'd like to see how they handle it tbh
Sonic Heroes was my first Sonic game, and is also my favorite Sonic game. I’m very excited for people who havent gotten a chance to play it to try it for the first time, especially a newer version with (hopefully) all bugs/glitches/issues fixed! But since I’ve played the original so many times, I’ll also be highly critical of this remake- if it doesn’t maintain the spirit and feel of the original, I’ll be super disappointed

I'd actually argue that in terms of popularity the Adventure titles would've made more sense, that said however I do agree that Heroes has aged the worse and needs the touch-up a lot more. Plus it'd be a good opportunity to add more variation or maybe even completely new stages for each team so that it won't feel as repetitive.

Fadel, I disagree with your reasoning on why they're doing Heroes instead of the Adventure games. Sega is 100% using Heroes as a testing ground for their developers. However, the reason I believe they're doing Heroes is because they're scared of messing up the adventure games, because the majority just wouldn't accept that, the Sega building would get burned down if they messed Sa1 & 2 up. That's why I don't think they're remaking Heroes because its popular, it's because they're scared.

Although I'm the adventure(s) remake camp, I would LOVE a Sonic Heroes REMAKE, heck I would be happy with a PC remaster even but this is exciting if it's happening! Would love a more streamlined experience but this game with modern QOL alone would be already a good way to smooth the gameplay! Would love a new xtra team or a few new levels for the novelty! Let's see what happens but I'm personally excited!
Sad to see hedgehog engine get discontinued in some way but it's probably lacking overall in versatility compared to unreal engine along with the frequent updates and such.

6:41 Yes it was indeed on the OG Xbox, which was a tiny bit crazy at the time lol. I'm more than down for a Heroes remake. The OG Heroes, while I did have some fun with it, had some crazy fucking jank, ESPECIALLY with the god awful Special Stages.
I may not have to admit that I would have liked for adventures 1 and 2 to get the remake treatment, but at the same time I am happy for all Heroes fans 🤗 You guys and this game deserve way more love than you get❤

As much as I want Adventure remakes, Heroes needs it the most. That game is so hard to go back and play because of the controls. It feels like trying to navigate platforms covered in ice and butter at the same time. Also maybe make some of the stages a bit shorter please.
Seems unlikely to me since we're just getting a Generations remake. But if someone hints it via cryptic riddle tweets, I'll keep an open mind.

The title was somewhat clickbait due to a remake only possibly being considered and not definitely happening.
sonic heroes was one of, if not the first game i ever played and i never finished it cause i only got to go to the house where it was at maybe 2 times a year and there was no sd card so i just replayed the first zone and maybe the 2nd over and over. I managed to keep the copy but my wii wouldnt let me play it despite showing it could (my wii is a liar). A remake would be so cool but i do want to play the original first i wish i asked for the gamecube

I understand remaking the one that sold the most but story wise i think it's better to do SA and SA2 first because the story, especially for Shadow Throughout Sonic Heros he trys to regain his memory and in the end doesn't until the next game Shadow The Hedgehog 2005 His story starts in SA2 and i just think it's weird for newer fans to play the SH remake and he's already lost his memory and you don't even get an answer unless the also remake STH2005 I am really excited if it is indeed Sonic Heros getting remade but I wouldn't lie when i say i hope they reconsider lol
If they really want to remake sonic heroes they need to build from the ground up engine because sonic heroes was using renderware engine and renderware was own by EA so i hope they fix the control and the special stage too idk it could be good or it could be med we just need to wait and see
