That would be amazing! That's my favorite era of Sonic. Adventure 2 is my favorite Sonic game, followed closely by Shadow and then Adventure 1. Heroes is fun, but I really wish that the four main stories weren't all basically the same. That's the main problem I have with Heroes honestly, and unfortunately that's not exactly the kind of thing that can be fixed in a remake without it pretty much becoming a completely different game.

Replace shadow the hedgehog with a full remake definitive version of sonic 06 and unironically that would be peak
Sega is testing the waters. Sonic Heroes would not be a huge risk for them, and they can use it as an opportunity to test out different methods of development that could be used in future remakes. They know that the Adventure games are beloved and don't want to mess them up. I think this is a good strategy.
Plus the Adventure games are already remastered on Xbox and (I think) Playstation

As I recall, there was several cut ideas from Heroes. There's potentially room for improvements here.
That's what I'm not against, also the characters in those condensed environments going at the ridiculous speeds as they were known for was and is still it's biggest mistake, made it more difficult than needed. So not only making gameplay improvements but cut content as well as making it a definitive edition director's cut sort of deal could actually bring Sonic Heroes to it's full potential, so we getting that before we get a Sonic Adventure remake is fine by me on that thought.

To be honest, I feel like Heroes deserves a remake more than Adventure. It's an important game, and hasn't been rereleased at all yet (It's not even backwards compatible on Series X)

Yeah, especially cuz modern ports of the Sonic Adventure games aren't as great as DX & Battle.
It's also a chance to spruce up stuff like the controls & physics. Sad for Adventure fans if this is true, but I'd be pretty excited for a Heroes remake. It's the Sonic game I vibe with most.

Honestly considering the jank that some of the Sonic Heroes physics had. It's not really surprising that they are remaking Sonic Heroes first to get it right and get some experience in Unreal 5. Before going for SA1 and SA2.

You make it sound like adventure 1 and 2 doesn't have jank. Jank is just something that all 3D sonic games have in some shape or form.
@@BlaizeTheDragon Oh trust me I know they have jank. I just recently 100% my steam versions. My point was that they want to get SA1 and SA2 right so they are using Heroes as a practice run for UE5.
I completely agree and I hope they alter some part of the 4 stories gameplay to make them feel fresh and unique for the Heroes remake.
I'd agree with this take, as it makes a lot of sense. I highly doubt they're unaware of the demand for an Adventure remake.
Maybe remaking Sonic Heroes could be practice for remaking the Adventure games? The Sonic Adventure games are incredibly important and beloved, so remaking a smaller (but still beloved) Sonic game might help Sonic Team how to work with Unreal Engine 5 and how to get a remake right. Either way, I'm excited for this. I never played Sonic Heroes before, and I thought it looked like a lot of fun. This is also the chance to hear the modern voice actors dub over a classic game.
I believe the Reason Heroes is getting Remade before the Adventure Games is because of being Easy to Reproduce in a Game Design Type of Way.

@@Londonlink Adventure 1 wasn't redone on Gamecube, it just got a model overhaul on the Main characters... also DX is buggy as all hell, & then the ports of DX are even buggier also yes, it would probably be even harder to actually remake from scratch.
& Heroes not being available on modern consoles.

I actually like Sonic Heroes, so I'm hoping it's true, tho it's not the first time a rumored Sonic Heroes remake has been going around Adventure remakes are probably coming sooner or later, maybe not before the next big Sonic game, but maybe sooner than we think depending on how well the 3rd Sonic movie does but I wanna say, if they add a new team to the game (don't think they will) Team Silver would be my choice (or whatever the team would be called) Silver for Flying, Blaze for Speed, and I can't think of a character for Power, that works well as a teammate for Blaze and Silver, other than...create a new character, like Omega was a new character for Team Dark anyway we need a remake / port of the Sonic All-Stars racing games, the original and Transformed is some of the best racing games I've played, and needs to be more easily accessible for newer audience (especially Transformed) - I mean throw in Tennis too and make it a 3-pack All-Stars collection

And we kinda already have Adventure sequels, which is this exact game that's supposedly getting a remake and Shadow the Hedgehog. Respectfully, I am sure the Adventure saga can rest until another decade or so

I'm not generally a sonic fan, although I did own sonic heroes and found it to be interesting, if also hard.
I just wish it could just be a collection of adventure, adventure 2, heroes and shadow but I guess beggars can't be choosers here
I wonder if they'll redo the voiceover with the current voice cast, keep the og audio, or record new audio with the og voice cast.
If it’s a remake then they’ll probably get some of the OG actors back. David Humphrey did recently make a Twitter post of him in the studio holding a Shadow picture

@@lll_Number_One might be hard with some actors as some may have retired, tails's in the adventure era was played by child actors and all of them have grown up and ever since 4kids they have consistently hired women for tails
They should give players the option of using the old voices or the voices that might be redone for this title.
Talk about low budget remakes, no SA 1 or 2... I'm outta here! Seriously, though, I'm really excited for a Heroes remake if this is real I've never played Heroes before and I've always wanted to, so hopefully this is a good chance for lots of people to experience the game for the first time!!

If there’s one thing about Heroes that needs an overhaul, it’s the bonus stages. Controlling on them is a nightmare.

I think what Sega is trying to do is that since Hedgehogs engine 2 was so trash they decided to go on a different route with unreal engine 5 and try to test out on how they can make Great Sonic The Hedgehog Games which really makes me happy if this leak is true (hopefully it is)
IIRC, GameCube was lead platform for Sonic Heroes, so if rumors are to be believed, this doesn’t sound odd for a Nintendo 10th generation project.
I think they're so worried about remaking Adventure games because of the demand. They know if they drop the ball on it, it's REALLY gonna hurt.
This was the Sonic game of my childhood. The music was the best. I just started Sonic Adventure DX too so great timing
when i think about a Sonic Adventure DX &2 Battle remake for Switch or Switch 2 i wonder how the Chao gardens and the Transporting your chao between the two games would work since for the Gamecube versions i played, Sonic Advance 1 for GBA was the link between them cause of the Tiny Chao Garden Feature. unless they make the Tiny Chao Garden a Phone app where you can take your Chao with you when on the go and feed and play as well as Raise with them along with adding new features
My biggest hope is that the teams can go through different levels since their opening cutscenes have them starting out at different points on the planet. They should all converge at the Egg Fleet. This is overall amazing news and my impression is that they’re testing the waters for this remake before doing SA1&2.
About time this and shadow the hedgehog are the only games that you have to play the old consoles to experience again and again

The early multiplatform 3D Sonic games starting with Heroes haven't been rereleased on modern platforms. It's about time.

If anything (and if done well), Heroes would really benefit from the remake treatment, then they could finally catch an eye on both Adventure games. Maybe new teams to keep up with the current character lineup?
Really hope if this is real, that the physics are actually good this time, especially on the special stages. Im not sure if they can fix the other glaring issue with the game though, that the stages are too long, especially in the latter half of the routes.

That would be interesting to get a remake of Sonic Heroes if Sega ends up making that. If they do, I wonder if the remake version will have a couple new features that the original version (for the Nintendo Gamecube, Playstation 2, and Xbox) didn't have.

I think Heroes would benefit greatly from a remake! I think the core gameplay and level design was always great in heroes, you wouldn’t need to change the levels or mechanics or anything, just tighten up the controls so they’re less…slippery, both for general movement, but especially for rail grinding, pin balling and the special stages. The only other major thing I think they could add would be the ability to switch formations in the air so you could more easily save yourself from bottomless pits. And maybe give each team a different time of day for their stages to give them more visual variety. I know people want the adventure games remade but remember, if they remake those games, it won’t just be the sonic levels, it’ll be all of it, fishing, mech shooting and treasure hunting included, and no matter how much you improve the controls of all those things, you still can’t escape the fact that they’re all very jarring and differing gameplay styles to sonic. Heroes, while it has its own problems, at least was consistent with one core gameplay style
This would be good to see. I remember way back when the PS2 version of Sonic Heroes was apparently so poorly developed that it wasn't worth playing.
I do really love Generations and Colors and I appreciate the ports, but maybe it's my bias talking the two Adventures and Heroes will always be the peak Sonic games for me, so if this is bount to happen i'm really taking it and it's what I actually want and would be hyped for! Especially since it was NEVER re-released not even on Steam atleast we will have an opportunity now. I know many did not like few glitches and imperfections in the controls, well, that is a chance to fix that!!!!

I'm in the camp that believes Sonic Heroes is a good game, but I won't deny that the game does have it's flaws. It certainly could benefit from a remake, though only time will tell if the rumors of said remake are true.
Sega should do a Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (1992) with all the scrapped zones from that game and import them. They can even have two hidden palace zone areas: when getting all chaos emeralds and on the handheld versions when in mystic cave and fall down the pit. And even have the scrapped stages in certain stages similar to how KZhead videos did that. Like when in emerald hill, you go to that one scrapped zone for example.
I think their just testing things out and it's also possible they want to get the assets made for Sonic in unreal engine first and Sonic Heroes has the largest game cast out of any of them. So doing Heroes first would likely help them alot for the future, plus honestly as much as I want Adventure 1 and 2 remade Heroes needs it more. The good in it is held down by rushed development and bizarre choices that hopefully they'll tinker with and fix.
I think because they can’t re-release their games that’s they used the renderware engine. I think we maybe gonna get the dreamcast port puyo pop fever re-release as well because the GameCube/PS2/Xbox versions used renderware as well.
Well Adventure or not, if SEGA remaking Sonic Heroes, I’m hype. Besides, Sonic Heroes is my favorite game of all time. Switching characters The Return of Shadow the Hedgehog Awesome Theme Songs And More! That’s why Sonic Heroes is my favorite Sonic game.
yeah i love sonic heroes is my favorite sonic game ever i just play this year for it 20 years anniversary and i still have a great time and if this remake is real i will buy this day one
while I find it hard to believe and won't till I see it, it would be a good opportunity for them to reintroduce characters they hardly used for awhile, or make them playable at least similar to Shadow in Sonic x Shadow Generations

I'd honestly love this so much! Even more though if they added a new team Blaze with her as speed, silver as fly, and marine / sticks/ trip as a female power type! They haven't been playable for a long long time and would be great to show them to the new audience!
I really wanted a Sonic Adventure 1 remake with all the DX content, completely redone from ground up and unlockable Cream campaign since she was flying around in DX but you couldn't interact which was kind of lame.

If I’m not mistaken, Heroes is virtually stuck on one generation’s worth of platforms (GameCube, PS2, Xbox). Similar to how Sonic Colors was stuck on Wii and DS for awhile. So honestly bringing it back is a smart move (assuming that it’s glitchless).
A massive improvement would be to just assign all the abilities to their own button instead of wasting two to cycle between move-sets.

This is actually my first Sonic game, I'll go insane if this is true, and I'm ALREADY nuts with Sonic X Shadow Generations!
I see this as “Sonic Heroes remake will walk so Sonic Adventure remake(s) can run”; Sega knows they can’t fumble Sonic Adventure remakes since they are still highly beloved by a lot of people to this day while Sonic Heroes is a rather forgotten game and has always been polarizing since day one so they’ll test the waters and reception of this one,to be honest it will benefit the most from a remake.
My first Sonic game getting a remaster would be amazing, if done right unlike recently with a few titles. Would be better if Crush40 came back to do the music, as What I'm Made Of and This Machine are top 3 songs of the game for me. Rail Canyon in 3rd though.
Or it might be a Heroes inspired original like that Team Racing stuff. To put it theoretically.
Cool. Maybe wpe capn get team silver, team classic, and another team or two utilizing characters who havent been in the spotlight enough.
(If we go with the hypothetical agreement that these are Real) If you think about it, Heroes remake just makes a lot of sense: 1- the switch to Unreal 5 makes sense if the Remake is being handled by a different studio as we saw with Sonic Colors Ultimate 2- Design-wise Sonic Heroes is a far simpler, all 4 Teams are essentially 1 Character, The level design stays consistent across all 4 Playthrus, & the Team Differences are basically goal-based. 3- probably Adventure Remakes aren't in Sonic Team's because whichever Follow-up to the Frontiers formula is already inspired by the Adventure games as we saw with Frontiers being essentially "Adventure but Large" + "Ubisoft Map Hubworlds" 4- considering what actual fans would like from Adventure (usually something among the lines of Resident Evil 4 Remake, or Yakuza Kiwami 1+2) the balance of change vs keep vs replace is a lot to manage, and the expectations are just absurd. So, is not a project you should do without putting a lot of consideration
But hey At least it's a good start!

Heroes was alright. I wasn't as big on this one after SA-1 and 2. Those are still peak and all I really want lol I've still played a lot of heroes, though. If it comes, I guess I'll pick it up.

I honestly think this has everything to do with how Sonic 3 is relevant to Shadow and Sonic Heroes includes everybody plus Shadow with a decent overview on the character in a very kid friendly game. Also if they randomly did Adventure 2 it wouldn't make nearly as much sense as doing Adventure 1 first, unless they found a way to combine them like the new Max Payne 1&2 remake Remedy is making. This honestly feels like the perfect way to get everybody ready for Sonic Adventure. I think they are getting very ready to get to the roots of Sonic.
If this truly is a remake, I hope some character motivations are improved.

Sonic Heroes is my 2nd favorite sonic game (behind riders1) and it deserves to get remade FAR More than SA1 and SA2, those controls could use a massive tune up, So I'm all for it!😊👍

They used sonicxshadow to repair shadow's character. Heroes is a perfect engine test for the new graphical style for the more complex adventure remakes.

Adventure 1 & 2 have been re-released on 360 and is still playable on the series consoles, let sega remake heroes and shadow the hedgehog and the other games they haven't touched before Adventure 1 & 2 again
You know for a company quoted as saying they’re looking for the future and not the past about their Sonic Games they sure like spreading rumors about remakes
Hard to take it seriously considering they struggle to make a game that doesn't reference green hill and chemical plant zone.
Sega tried to do a Sonic Adventure remake, but they “outsourced” it to Sega Shanghai and ended up cancelling it because they were concerned it wouldn’t be good, especially with such a limited budget at the time due to restructuring.
I was wondering about why we don't see more Sonic remakes recently. Kind thought it may be due to voice actor related stuff but that may not make sense considering SA1 and 2 being rereleased on the 360 and what not years ago. Whatever! I'm happy to hear about this!
Sonic unleashed doesn't need a remake it's pure perfection especially the glorious intro scene I'd just port it to the newer consoles like the nintendo switch and add extra features at least like a werehog shadow and werehog silver gameplay and for sega should keep details from sonic unleashed and put that detail into their newer sonic games in the future
