Mephiles or Black Doom would be cool in the Shadow Spin Off
I think the only reasonable thing they could do for Eggman's character going forward would be to turn him into a Loki-esque character. He's still a bad guy, but there are bigger threats to deal with and the writers can write a reason as to why he can't be defeated. Maybe him interacting with the Chaos Emeralds in the last movie changed his DNA in some way? Just a spitball idea, but I'm sure they'll find a way to keep him relevant.

Eggman in most games is just there to make the plot happen like in 06, Unleashed, or Lost World. In the case of Unleashed he's just their to create the Werehog and for most of the game is just in it for comedic relief with Orbot. And in 06 he just exists to Kidnap Elise. And in Lost World, He just discovers the Zeti and controls them until he doesn't; and again he's just their for comedy. So if these movies go on with Eggman still there, he might possibly just become a glorified backgroud character or someone to make the plot go along.
Eggman in most Sonic games is more of a conduit for the main plot to unfold through. You could almost have any villain take that role, and Sonic definitely has no shortage of villains. So even if we lose Jim Carrey after Sonic 3 and can't have an Eggman anymore (and honestly I'm pretty sure we WILL have an Eggman if he retires, even if they have to bring in an alternate universe version of him), there is a literal rogue's gallery of villains to choose from.
Well, Eggman doesn't die in the games because he's smart and iconic, it's because of that, but because of the actor...
Still boggles the mind that we wouldn't be here right now if they hadn't changed that original movie design.

For future villains Chaos would work for movie 4. Just because they went right to Adventure 2 doesn’t mean they can't adapt SA1 afterwards. Otherwise Agent Stone, the Black Arms, Eggman Nega, and maybe original characters can fill in the Robotnik void - remember that weird lizard character that was planned for movie 1 and briefly showed up in the movie 2 prequel comic? I don't see us ever getting to the Storybook games getting adapted, but they could work in a loose sense. Instead of literal storybook worlds they're just different planets accessed through the ring portals. Or as fully animated spin off movies that aren't connected to the live action universe. Ultimately though, I think we'll start seeing fully original plot lines before they ever think about those games lol.

I think there’s a bunch of potential for this universe, imagine a Sonic Heroes movie or a SA1 adaptation. On top of original stories with this universe’s version of the characters. It really does have a bunch of potential and I’m really curious to see it unfold.
There's also potential for them to make a completely original idea like Movie 1. Or they could possibly take an idea from a game and use it as a blueprint for a new story. or they could still just do what they are doing now where they are mashing ideas from two different games and making it into a movie; movie 2 was Sonic 2 and Sonic3&k mixed together, and the writers said movie 3 is SA2 with some elements of the Shadow 2005 game.
It's only a matter of time till they declare Jet the Hawk as the first Brazilian movie character (mostly because he's green)

While I can't see them killing off Tom, I can see Sonic moving out of his parents attic once he's done that growing up the 2nd movie mentioned. Hell, if movie 3 follows SA2 as closely as we expect, the whole planet is gonna know he and his friends exist and saved the world from destruction, he could travel freely and be welcomed wherever he goes, if he wants to stay on Earth at all

I feel like for a 06 and CD (with a little bit of Heroes with Neo) adaptation for Movie 4, they can ignore the Elise, Soleanna, and Iblis (Thanks to the Knuckles show referencing the flames of disaster) plotline, but they can keep Silver and his storyline the same, but the difference is that Neo Metal Sonic is the one to destroy Silver's world instead of Iblis which can give him a justifiable reason on why he wants to hunt down Sonic since he is the basis of the creation of Metal. Movie 4 could basically be a family-friendly version of the Terminator Movies. Also, I feel Paramount wants to just bring in recognizable antagonists that the general audiences know which are of course Metal and Chaos. And for Movie 5, they can do a Full-on Heroes and SA1 Adaptation into one movie with Silver and Blaze being involved and Chaos being the Final Antagonist instead of Neo-Metal Sonic since the movies want to mix things up to not be one-to-one with the games.
Elise can work if your make her an actual teenager who just befriends Sonic and the gang. Elise in the games while she is a teen princess, she looks more like a young adult that's 17 or 18 than a teen. Also if she is going to possibly be kidnapped It needs to be only once maybe twice in a movie, 06 had her kidnapped 5 times which didn't really give her much to interact with Sonic or other characters.

Imagine this: Metarex Saga Having Tails character developed while shadow is kicking everyone's ass is perfect. Obviously, they couldn't call it Metarex. but maybe they could make movie original counterpart.

I haven't talked about this too much in recent days because of the stuff at CinemaCon, but I wouldn't put it past Paramount to just fork over the money necessary to buy the rights to use the Metarex Saga for the movies. They got Keanu Reeves to voice Shadow, the guy who turned down an MCU role. I can't imagine that was cheap. And from what I understand, Sega doesn't own those characters. So Paramount getting the movie rights to those characters, given enough movies and time, not necessarily outside the realm of possibility. In fact, if you pay attention to the movies and note all of the references and outright similarities to Sonic X we've seen so far (over 20 between the first two movies alone, and a reference to the first episode of Sonic X in a Formula 1 tie-in ad), it definitely feels like something could be going on there. It would be weird to think they would be doing this for no reason. Plus if they're talking about Avengers-level events, this would be like an Infinity War-level event for Sonic. Not to mention the absolute freak-out that would happen in the theater if they revealed Cosmo in a mid-credits scene. Now granted, this is all jumping several movies ahead and it would hinge on them having enough movies to get to this point. Gotta get the characters in there first before even thinking about this.
I still feel like Chaos would be the next one, if they have the Biolizard that could help set up Chaos, and the chaos (the tiny blue guys lol) were referenced at the end of movie 2. Could lean in to the Adventure era hype and keep Crush 40 along, even if it's a bit out of order compared to the games.
I am almost 100 percent sure that if Amy is in Sonic 3 and they do a Sonic 4, it'll be Adventure 1 and Sonic Heroes. The reason I say that is because if Amy is in Sonic 3, then she might be looking for Sonic to tell him something throughout the movie. And they might do this running joke where Sonic and Amy keep missing each other throughout the first half of the movie. Then in the second half, they meet up finally. But the big bad of the movie has to be dealt with, so there isn't time for her to tell Sonic what she came to tell him. So they deal with the big bad and save the day. Then in the mid credits scene, Amy is finally able to tell Sonic what she came to tell him. And maybe what she says is that the Owls and Echidna didn't wipe each other out. They were wiped out by something else. The scene then cuts to Sonic's world, and we see a shot of Chaos.
If I'm being perfectly honest: The problem with the MCU is... they're their own worst enemy, like; the dip in quality from Infinity War to Endgame despite it being a big hitter is obvious

I hope this comment dosent come off as negitive but hear me out As someone who likes the sonic films and used to like the avengers/MCU and whatnot at some point you gotta have an ending to just leave things that cause if things keep dragging out to were it feels stale and uninteresting as for years to come with The sonic films I fear in my opnion is that with adding new characters in the mix will be up to the point we're it'll feel overloaded most of the time for all we know they could do an 2D animated show for the fun of it and call it that which I don't have an issue but it seems there going at a rate we're there just gonna milk it like crazy to where it becomes stale
i feel like we are all so accustomed to franchises being milked so the implication that it could run for a long time comes with the fear that the quality will eventually decline, which is definitely a real possibility. but if they continue to be good quality things, i see no reason why they cant give it a shot

I would definitely like a Metal Sonic trilogy where: Movie 1 would be Sonic CD/Sonic OVA adaptation, Movie 2 would be Sonic Rush + Silver, and Movie 3 would be Sonic Heroes with Metal Sonic being the overarching villain. I originally had a film adapting Sonic Adventure, but I feel like it'll just be spread out or be cut out entirely.
Either Movie 3 will end with a Silver tease or a tease that Shadow survived his fall to Earth. I think they're going to start building to a Shadow movie or show AND an 06-like EVENT movie.
In Sonic Movie 2 Eggman had the Quill of Sonic Showed it to Knuckles and it didn't went anywhere Unless Eggman in the background was creating Metal Sonic since the Second Sonic Movie

I like Silver a lot and I think having him be in the Sonic 3 mid-credit scene would be satisfying and good because there is soo much wasted potential in him and seeing him do telepathic things on the big screen would be quite entertaining and he showed a lot of good optimisim in 06. So he could get shown as a likeable character who lots of people who didn't play that game because of the problems that it has and if they are new to this franchise, could find stuff out about him without being forced to play that game to find out about the character developement that he went through in that game.

The spin off games can definitely be a mini series too. Like OG Sonic Riders can be a seven ep season on Paramount plus. I see the vision now. EP 1-4 could be the story though Team Sonic, end of ep 4 can be right before the end of the desert race where they tease that ep 5 would transition to story telling Team Babylon. EP 5 gives the backstory while 6 gives the retelling of events through their perspective before the end, where they resume back to they desert race with Sonic losing. Ep 7 would be the finale that is slightly different with Team Sonic vs Team Babylon in the beginning but ends up being a 1v 1 with Sonic and Jet. This would be awesome

I don’t think we’re considering the likely possibly that they start creating their own stories and characters at some point. After Metal Sonic and MAYBE Silver, there really aren’t any characters or stories that would warrant a huge reaction from the general public the same way Knuckles and Shadow did. They’ll have to focus on new ways of getting people out to the theaters to see the movies.

But Jeff Fowler did mention wanting to do some kind of big story with Tails later on if he had enough movies. The reason I still say 'If' is because they haven't been officially greenlit for more movies yet, and it's ultimately up to Paramount if that happens, not the Director or Producers.

It'll definitely hinge on Sonic 3. Shadow is the make-or-break moment for this franchise, so they really need to stick this landing in order to show that they know their stuff with future Sonic movies.

You know what? I am kond of down for more Sonic TV/movie media, as long as they can keep up the quality and NOT turn into the post-No Way Home MCU
Man this gets me so hyped. There’s so much potential with some of these stories and there’s definitely quite a bit left they could adapt for future movies/shows I think a Shadow Show after Movie 3 definitely makes sense so we can really dive into his character even more. Potentially the Black Arms but not the Black arms from the games. Heard some leaks from Knuckles and it seems something related to the Black Arms is in the show so we’ll see. However on the topic of movies definitely think there’s a lot more left Metal Sonic could be introduced with a Heroes/CD Movie for sure. Would make sense for him to be a threat at some point. A SA1 Movie I think is a lock. Things like Perfect Chaos, just make sense to me to be adapted. Gimme me a Sonic Riders show pretty please that would be raw! They even referenced the Babylon Rogues (Jet, Wave and Storm) at the beginning of Movie 2. If sega ain’t giving us a new Riders game can we atleast get a show. 06 is also something we can potentially see. Its plot would definitely need an overhaul and for sure would not be one to one with the OG Game. Remove Elise (If she’s there maybe make her an animal idk just throwing that out there), The Time Travel Shenanigans and etc. Last thing I’ll mention a Colors movie would be cool but considering Eggman’s absence is most likely after Movie 3 who would be the villain? Part of me wonders how they'll handle Shadow's death in the upcoming movie. Because if they make an 06 movie which is all about time travel bullshit, that could be an interesting way of reviving Shadow as opposed to game canon where he just kinda survived I guess. I need a Sonic Rush adaptation first though, give me movie Blaze dangit.

My biggest interest is what kind of antagonists are we going to get especially since it looks like Jim Carrey won’t be coming back after the 3rd movie. Do they create their own bag guy or do they draw from the games?
I would bet money on the 4th movie being an 06 adaptation where Silver (and possibly Blaze) are brought in. Unless the movie universe goes in it’s own direction, the only other games that makes sense to adapt are Adventure 1, Unleashed, and maybe Heroes once we get more characters added. An 06 adaptation with only the main trio + Shadow/Silver/Blaze could work to reduce the bloat that the game’s story had. It could be a chance for all the characters to have the spotlight.
I just hope, even with these movies we eventually get a fully animated movie, but either way I hope all these movies only go up in quality. Let’s not over do it like Disney has been with Marvel
I Don't Mind Continuing More Sonic Movie Sequels And Spin-Offs, I Wish We Gotten Animated Sonic Movie Soon!
A slight worry of mine is what they're gonna do with the humans, hopefully they make them a little less involved while also still having them around in maybe a lesser role. I don't them to be phased out completely because I think some of them can be funny and the movies are obviously going to try and put their own spin on some of the sonic stories, I just don't want them to take away too much screentime from the proper Sonic characters

i think a lot of game sstorys could get movies. ill list a few I think SHOULD, in order of release CD: being a classic game, it didn't have much detail and was mostly up for interpretation but I actually think this is a good thing bc theerees less chains and predetermined points the plot has to follow. 3K+SA1: these two have a pretty connected story and I think they would also make a great movie. can you imagine sonic slowly turning super with perfect chaos flailing around in the background to the beginning of open your heart? unleashed: this one might be hard to realize but if they can it would be a banger

In my personal opinion, I'm more inclined to believe it's metal Sonic. I think Eggman is gonna find the prototypes and old research that his grandfather did and decide to "improve" upon it.
Yeah, they aren’t getting rid of Eggman. He is the 2nd main character after Sonic the Hedgehog for the franchise. He is the reason Sonic stories are still being made today.

@@GamesCage I’d say… so far, so good. Sonic isn’t spinning dashing through his chest or anything but Sonic has been dealing with Eggman at the end of each movie. Granted, Eggman hasn’t done any “lasting” emotional damage to Sonic to warrant a chest spin dashing either. Yeah, Eggman is a threat but Sonic has successfully been dealing with him so far.
an SCU would be SOOO beneficial, bc Sonic as a whole can be super confusing and complex to dive into for newer fans (I sure was HAHA)- creating a (hopefully grounded) cinematic universe would not only reward old fans, but it will help newbies feel more comfortable dipping their toes into the franchise and agree, its not really a crossover of IPs like MCU, so while big, its not as bloated understandably, I see how some don't want the risk of it becoming another MCU bc theres just sooo many characters and so much lore to play around with- but if they keep it focused without restricting themselves creatively then we will be SET for years!!! since tv shows are not off the table now that Knuckles gets his own thing- I hope they take the opportunity to slow down and give the cast breathing room to develop, and with how many chrs there are GOD THEY NEED THAT BREATHING ROOM man just imagining a potential timeline of movies/shows is hyping up bro 😭😭😭 p.s. Bare with me here as I have quite a few ideas... 1. Sonic Adventure: After Movie 3 they could set up each of these characters having their own arcs throughout the next film (Sonic Movie 4) and with a new threat like Chaos coming-in requiring all of them (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, maybe Shadow) to work together but becoming stronger than they were in Movie 3! 2. Sonic CD/Heroes (2-Parter!): What I want is after Sonic Movie 3 is for all the characters split off but the important characters are given individual projects. Shadow Movie, Knuckles Season 2 exploring Echidna Tribe + Master Emerald, Tails Show, Chaotix Show, etc. Somewhere in this new "Phase" would be Sonic Movie 4 which is a Sonic solo Movie fighting Metal Sonic like Sonic CD... BUT HE LOSES!!!!!!! Leading to Sonic Movie 5 being like Heroes, having the big "Avengers" Setup. I wanna see this more than any and Sonic CD+Heroes aren't even my favourite Sonic games. 3. Sonic Unleashed Sonic Unleashed is my favourite Sonic game, but I genuinely think this story would be a great way to have a Sonic Movie 4 without a lot other characters involved and it being self contained. But you can also definitely make it so that Dark Gia is the big bad of this franchise. Connection to chaos emerald's (maybe master emerald as well...), planetary threat causing everyone to come together, and the story + characters of that game would work so well in the film! 4. Sonic 06 (Heavily Modified Ofc) Obviously they would make massive changes, let alone not do a 1:1 recreation of this game... However I think taking bits and pieces from the story could make for a great film! Silver is great, the whole "Sonic Caused this Bad Future" part wold be cool for new audiences to see Sonic as the "Bad Guy". Maybe it's just me Just Some ideas I had for the future of the franchise and what they could lead to for an "Avengers-Level Event" (Sometimes I wish I had a podcast/connections to have live conversations about this with someone 😭)

I feel like the next natural movie after movie 3 is a movie based off 06, obviously some changes and improvements will be needed, plus it’s a adaptation they already have some changes anyways. I can already see them having sliver appear at the end seeing sonic run across somewhere and saying “I found the iblis trigger” Anyways i think this could be pretty cool to have a big cinematic universe like marvel but also, it’s expected to have its worry’s and troubles that can happen. Just hoping it is done well and if they do want to continue for a long time they don’t rush it and all that. 💙❤️

If Sonic characters arrive on earth than that technically means that aliens would be on Earth. Since its established in Movie 1 that characters like Sonic, Tails, etc are aliens and not native to Earth like the games and current comics.

I just want to see my girl Blaze get some recognition... Also, Chaos in a movie would be lit, get Sonic team up with Shadow (cause Chaos is supposedly an ancient "god" fueled by the 7 chaos emeralds) and have Eggman actually be useful instead of just having his ship be destroyed in a few seconds.

We knew this coming for years, I don't get why people are so upset Sonic is perfect for a Cinematic Universe there's so many characters and one of the biggest complaints the game has is how little they get used especially after shadow killed all chances of more spinoffs happening thanks to his own game ( at least with the guns and swearing) , not everyone reads comics and the movies saved Sonic and video game movies, you HAVE ro go all in!

Personally stopped keeping up with the MCU after Endgame, despite wanting to see Spider-Man: No Way Home. Because of the Raimi Spidey stuff & possibility of Venom. But just dropped out of it. Sonic tho, I don't see that being a problem. And if we get a Blaze focused project at some point, I'm open for it! In terms of villains after Eggman, there are options. Eggman Nega, Black Doom and a few others that could work on their own, if not being darker than Eggy. Nega basically being Silver's Eggman, but probably would need present day Eggman in the story, because Nega despises Eggman. Deadly Six, but only if they weren't such a mixed bag. Heck, if push comes to shove, use the Metarex from Sonic X. Highly doubtful cuz Ian Flynn tried pitching a story with them & got turned down, I believe immediately. we'll just have to wait & see.
Sonic’s arc in the movies seems to be centered around responsibility. I think that if they want to make a break from the Wachowskis, they won’t do anything drastic like a family death. Instead, perhaps Tom and Maddie reveal to Sonic that they are gonna be parents, and after the adventure, Sonic realizes that he can’t afford to bring anymore harm their way. So it may end with an “our kid is leaving the nest” moment. That way the trilogy can have a satisfying arc with a justified relationship between Sonic and the human world while being able to move onto a more fantastical future. Here’s the kicker… name the kid Chris 💀
I don't know that Sonic would leave because of that though. His arc is also about not running away anymore. So if he just left, it would undo half of his development. Maybe there's a moment where he considers it, or tries to do it like in Sonic 2, but then realizes that running away isn't going to solve anything.
@@SBaby that’s actually a very great point. I kinda forgot that was the whole emotional crux of the huddle underneath the Eggrobo. Maybe they’ll find a middle ground of sorts. Western culture is very particular about eventually “leaving the nest”.

I feel like a good characters coming together movie is Sonic Heroes and that would definitely make for a way to end the live action films. As for Spin offs, I think Shadow and Chaotix make the most sense to carry on their own movies or show. Shadow can an action movie, while Chatoix can be more of a Mystery Comedy similar to Ace Ventura or along the lines of Detective Pikachu. As for Soleanna, I think it can still work. The Sonic LA movies are still a fictional world with some of our stuff in it, but Solenna and Elise could serve as one of the very last remaining monarchies. Plus its been established that fictional countries do exist in movie 1 since when the generals are talking about Eggman they mention a fictional country after they mention Pakistan that he may have wiped off the map because of his robots. I think killing off Donut Lord would be really good. He's alright as a character, but I feel he is emblematic of why movie Sonic feels "off" to me. This version of Sonic is a little too childlike in my opinion. Killing off Donut Lord would be a nice sendoff to his character while pushing Sonic towards a more nomadic and independent personality that we know him for.
Ngl kinda crazy n goofy that now a company wants to take the Sonic franchise and turn it into MCU. The same franchise with the baffling n laughable continuity. Franchise has come a long way and honestly im interested in seeing what Paramount will do for the games that Sega let them adapt. Team Babylons link with the Owl Guardians sounds like a fire idea cuz imagine the cool rivalry between the last Owl Guardian Sonic vs the last Babylon leader Jet. As for why they would fight, idk maybe the writers could have Jet n gang go after the Master Emerald since their race used it to power their empire or they could bring in the gravity rings or just Jet is petty n wants to prove to Sonic that he's the fastest in the universe. Either hype, a Riders adaptation sounds like a cool tv series. For Silver, I hope Paramount give him justice like how done with Knuxs and gang (Except Tails, he kinda got robbed for Movie 2 but hopefully he shines for Movie 3 like in SA2). I hope Paramount actually gives Silver his own series so that they can have the freedom to create new friends and villains for Silver. Plus some unique traits for Silver so that he wouldn't be exactly like Trunks unlike how the game canon done him. Blaze, as much as I want her to be the princess from another dimension, still I think Paramount might cut that one out since Rush ain't gonna be adapted and it would make it easier to just have her be a partner with Silver. They could try to combined both origins by having Silver be the solo warrior fighting a new dimesional treat and then this treat also messes with Blaze's dimension so both Silver n Blaze form a good developed friendship n team up in order to defeat the new villain. Probably mess n weird but that's kinda how I would try to bridge Blaze's messy origin roles. Also honestly tho, who would be the Thanos threat for the Sonic Universe? I guess Solaris could work since he is a dimension eater and especially with Mephiles pulling the strings, but then they need to save 06 for last then. Honestly even tho I get that this villain is just a floating space rock, still I think The End would actually be a great Thanos treat. The End can talk and is the manifestation of death so having Sonic n gang face their worst fears would be cool. Probably won't happen for both (Especially with the budget n Frontiers not being listed) but still would be cool imo
Also ngl kinda would have been interested if Paramount also got a chance to adapt the IDW series since that series got interesting plots but haven't been fleshed out right (Cough Starline cough). They could expand the Sonic Universe more with the IDW heroes n villains. But I guess since the IDW ain't really that known to causals n ain't that popular for hardcore fans, I get why it ain't getting adapted
