Even salary is different while the job scopes etc just the same things need to be done.

The birthing and raising children part is often forgotten. I get his frustration but especially since women are in the minority due to the One child policy( so can demand more), also work and are expected to mostly raise children and take care of the household, its not the same for women and men. If taking care of the home and the kids was a socially accepted 50/50 ,that would make me completely be on his side. Women are expected to do certain unpaid labor ,are held back in their careers due to it ( thats mostly the source of pay disparities between men and women) so its not strange that certain women want to make sure they have a partner that makes a lot since shell have to give up that security. And thats why with divorce often men ( the group that continues to work and can benefit from having kids without sacrificing their career) have to pay. Its not even really gendered cuz more and more women do that because their partner is a stay out home dad or something. Many women have been left with nothing in the past but a couple of kids because they trusted their partners to work outside of the home and they just worked inside of it. Its not the same. I get it, its a very " men vs women" topic with a lot of emotions but rationaly he isnt really taken everything into account. Even though I get his frustation.

Statistic proved that even when the women are the breadwinners of the family, she is still being the one taking care of most things in the household. Women spend the majority of their time working, doing housework, and raising children. It's simply unfair to try to make the situation appear any other way. Women in their 30s who haven't found a spouse are referred to as "leftover women," although males in their 40s are still considered valuable options for a relationship and marriage. In China, men and women have different social perspectives, and attempting to "raise awareness" as though they are equal is absurd. Furthermore, if a woman becomes pregnant, it will disrupt her work, reduce her chances of being recognized as a dedicated employee for the firm, and reduce her chances of advancement. If women take maternity leave, they risk losing their jobs. Men are not subjected to any of these discriminations, thus it stands to reason that women must be self-aware of their own worth and refuse to settle for less when the entire world around them says otherwise and imposes sanctions that limit women's freedom. Women are subjected to harsh treatment in China and around the world. Don't pretend that men and women are treated equally. It's completely unjust.

Women in the world all tend to look for a man that can provide. Even now, many Western women (such as in the UK, Australia) are still paid less for doing the same job. They are also more likely to be made redundant from their jobs or pass up for promotion when they start bearing children. Fact is the competition is intense for resources, especially in densely populated cities and countries, i.e. food, housing, jobs, transportation and education. It is just reality. There isn't such a heavy emphasis in the West largely because they have conquered and taken over so much of the New World in the past 200 years, thus were able to spread out and have more resources available per person. Prior to the pandemic, economic downturn and stagflation; in those New World countries, even a working-class person can get a detached home in some remote town to raise a large family easily.

In most cases, women take care of their children more than the father. Women in Europe earn less than men for the same position and experience in the job. So, most women expect for a guy to be paid more than them therefore to take care of them(financially) and their children. Would there be equality, there would be no need for a woman to expect more of a guy in terms of money.
Difference in men and women's thinking is women think long term. By nature she wants a strong provider for her youngs to ensure their survival and her future stability. Plus Asian countries have too many ridiculous social pressure and unrealistic demands on a woman's role. She is expected to work inside and outside of the home like super woman while raising his kids and taking care of him and his parents. That's why a lot of young women in the newer generation are turning away from it. Either make demands of their own or walk the other way.

So Chinese men either make the mark to be considered marriageable, get lucky and find true love or go without.

@@M_SC I'm a guy who has mostly lived alone and therefore I do all of the housework. When I've been in a relationship I've done my fair share of the housework as well. Men might do less housework and take less care of children but they also tend to work on average longer hours. It's also more socially acceptable and feasible for women to take maternity leave than it is for men to take paternity leave. The social aspect of this is at least partially enforced by women who somehow perceive stay at home dads as less masculine. Women really tend to exaggerate the impact of doing household chores! Sure, it is tiring but it's incomparable to the exhaustion of doing full time manual labour like factory work or construction work. It's also a lot less stressful.
@@haritc8462 i think housework is different when its pregnancy. because most women dont want to admit this but they will have some sort of postpartum depression. with most women their bodies are permanently damaged in some form from pregnancy but who will say that? women will feel uncomfortable saying that because it inadvertently puts blame on the child or the husband. besides the nature of men and women are different. the nature of being a father is less painful than being a mother so saying something about it is like going against nature. so instead they just divert their blame to something like housework. it's not true that housework is that hard but it is true that housework is hard if it includes breastfeeding, the afterpain of pregnancy and with a destroyed body.

In all honesty, it's kind of a give and take for most traditional housewife types. She'll do all the housework, cooking, cleaning, looking after the baby, etc. While the husband works and supports the family financially. That's, in a traditional sense, a fair exchange. Husband comes home to a clean house, freshly cooked food on the table, and a loving family. Wife doesn't have to bear the burden of working to support the family financially. It doesn't always happen naturally or simply. Many people struggle to get married in the first place. Even if they do, what's the divorce rate in America now, 50%? I've had so many single coworkers, one of them her ex-husband only married her to get her house.
One of my nieces is finishing up medical school at an Ivy and also has a Phd. She married a guy from China several years ago. He is still working on his Phd but his parents are wealthy. They live modestly but should do really well when they are both working full-time. My wife has never worked outside the home after we were married and that was her expectation. I think that China has a relative shortage of women because of the one-child policy in the past so you have the situation of supply and demand. If you want more from a spouse than is the norm, then you have to bring more to the table in other areas.
