    • Lori told her to leave her house the morning that Alex shot Charles because "Charles was driving up to kill her." I think that Melanie knew that Alex and Lori were plotting to kill Charles and she didn't do anything about it. Melanie knew that Alex and Lori murdered "zombies," Tylee was missing after being called a zombie, then JJ was missing and he was called a zombie, and then Melanie was excited to hear that Tammy died after she was called a zombie. Melanie should be held accountable for not intervening and calling the police with everything that she knew. She also should be in jail for lying to the police.

      @julesjay424@julesjay42413 күн бұрын
    • @@mellendiamond She went along with it initially, lying to police on more than one occasion. When she started to realize she could actually get into trouble herself, she suddenly found her conscience and cooperated (grudgingly and not fully) with the police. She is no hero. Had Chad and Lori been a bit more savvy about committing their murders, Melanie would have been just fine with it and would still be in the fold. She hated Tylee. She knew Charles Vallow was in mortal danger and actively helped Lori mess with his life and make him miserable before she killed him. She willingly engaged in the torture of at least one of Lori's murder victims (Charles) and, IMO, she is as devoid of conscience and empathy as Chad and Lori are. She is also STILL arrogant and believes she and her group are special, chosen by God, and therefore above human law. Melanie and her delusions of grandeur are a danger to anyone who gets too close to them. I have zero sympathy for this woman and am only grateful for the karma that will no doubt get her in the end, since the law and the LDS church seem to have no interest in holding her to account.

    • There was no cult or religion. Why do so many believe they had a cult?? The cult was an excuse for them to trick many. Chad, who himself is a loser, saw that this woman who was out of his league not only was paying attention to him, but also he noticed she was believing the pile of crock he was feeding her so he came up with an idea to drive her to him. There was no cult before or after they were done finishing everyone that was on their way. By the time they took the plane to Hawaii, they had forgotten about the 144,000 and everyone else...

    • @@chelseyhurdThat is not allowed by LDS or this cult’s rules. The logical thing for Lori to have done was call child services and place her kids up for adoption legally. But i think that cult forbids having other people raise your children. If Lori had put those kids up for adoption it would have saved their lives because their grandparents could have adopted them. Even without adoption the grandparents and Lori’s older son seem like people that would have adopted those kids informally so that Lori could run off with that strange cult. Chad Daybell killed his wife who was the biological mother to their 5 children. He is just as evil as Lori and they should rot under the prison until the prison says it is death sentence day

    • Nah. Alex wanted to kill Joe Ryan way before Chad entered their lives. I think Alex (who was rumored to be gay) was in love with his sister. I have a feeling they both were involved in their other sisters' premature death too.... seeing they BOTH maxed out her credit card(s?) after she died. This was decades and three husbands before this twisted unraveling began I believe Alex made a deal with Chad/Lori in that he'd kill the 'zombies' (children) only if they could be buried on Chad's property as some type of blackmail or deadman's switch insurance. This way they'd all have some type of leverage against one another. That's how very powerful people get away with their atrocious acts of depravity (just ask Jeffrey Epstein) Lori was the demonic brains behind everyone's death!!. And lustful Chad was just the horny village idiot.

My exhusband was closer to his own sister (she made sure of it) than he was with me and she came before me. As a result, I divorced him since they were so toxic to my own mental health.

    @ILoveWoolerbear@ILoveWoolerbear13 күн бұрын
    • I agree. Someone close to the Coxs' said their parents displayed very inappropriate behaviors in front of their children (and others) all the time so this wasn't a very traditional nuclear-styled family at all. Alex was (rumored to be) gay and in love with his sister. Not sure what belief system he succumbed to when he married Zulema but that was more about end times than loving a woman. Not sure if money (life insurance) was involved or not. But Zulema's son didn't even know who Alex was when he found him dying in their bathroom. Lori loved drama. She's a psychopath who constantly created static, confusion, chaos and change around her all the time. Hence why she/they moved so often. She couldn't be still. Because that would mean she'd have time to reflect. So she created more drama and trauma to draw attention away from past doings. She often made up lies (Charles was cheating and/or Joe molested the children etc) so her life would be filled with theatrics. Tylee never stood a chance. IMO

      @LisaDawnn@LisaDawnn12 күн бұрын
    • @@LisaDawnnYou make a lot of good points. I thought it strange that Tylee was more or less calm when talking to police about Charles’ death. Even if she was manipulated by Lori to not like her stepfather, Tylee should’ve still had some reaction to his death. Tylee probably witnessed so much evil doing.

      @nightwithout-stars1951@nightwithout-stars195112 күн бұрын
    • @@nightwithout-stars1951 Tylee did break down over Charles' death in front of one of the cousins (Adam's son). But I think Tylee kept a stoic poker face that day because she never learned how to process all the erratic behavior from Lori....in addition to all the trauma/change she'd been through in her short 17 years on this planet. She seemed numb and confused. According to Melanie Gibb (who is flakey af) Lori and Tylee had a very strenuous and tenuous relationship. I got the impression the only thing that brought them together was constant change, confusion and/or chaos. That's probably when she felt closest to her mother. I sensed Lori was a very selfish and jealous woman and I suspect that's why she might've encouraged Tylee to be heavy-set (which is very unusual seeing Lori was always so fit). But in Lori's head, 'heavy set' Tylee was less competitor that way ... and I think Tylee might've sensed that too.

But sure everyone can keep waiting on god to come collect the 144,000 and all the rest of the nonsense they believe.

Melanie believed the bullshit from Lori and Chad for a time. I found the call Melanie made and recorded with Chad and Lori was an very interesting piece of evidence in this case.

    • She was concerned once lori got her to lie, and went back to the police with the correct info. It might have been because she didn't want to be involved in anything illegal, or it might have been her boyfriend's concerns, but Melanie didn't become aware that the kids being missing was a problem until she had to lie to the cops.

  • I really dont think we can give Melanie a hard time for initially going along with her friend. She clearly had no idea at that time what had actually happened and was figuring the lies out for herself in real time. Once she knew that her friends were being completely deceptive and had done some heinous criminal acts, she went to the police to tell the truth and offer her help. 🤷‍♀️ Clearly her beliefs were super weird, but it seems like she's realized that now and most likely has some regrets.

    • She must be very, very dense if she didn't know he was in some kind of danger with no school, extended family, apparently living in hiding somewhere on the run from the police, without hi mother, father, grandparents, sister, etc. Saying he was "happy and safe" when he's supposedly being targeted and stalked by kidnappers and laughing and joking without any hint of concern....after saying he was a dark zombie for weeks prior? That is not safe for a kid to even be talked about that way, isolated, regardless of the murder part. Like, where did she THINK he was, just sitting safe and happy in an underground bunker by himself? He doesn't need his family to live in the same state with him anymore after losing his father? OK I guess she is just the dumbest person on the planet.

The fact that she can easily remember things until they're things that might incriminate her is suspicious to say the least. She and Lori were attached at the hip but she had no clue about anything? Who asks no questions if their bestie calls saying, "Tell the police you have my kid with you and fake evidence of taking him to see Frozen"? She didn't so much as ask why Lori asked her to do those things? Nonsense! Melanie is playing fast and loose with the truth to put it nicely.

  • Oh please! It was only a handful of peabrains following him and there was no cult. The cult Chad created because there is no evidence that existed before was for his benefit once he was mesmerized by Lori when he saw her for the first time. A woman who not only paid attention to someone like him(UGH!!) but who was also far out of his league. He also wasn't a successful writer. He wrote stupid books that few read and when he... a nerd who never amounted to anything and lived off his wife's earnings, saw that this gorgeous woman, who was starting to have mental issues was paying attention to him... a nobody, he went crazy for her losing at once all sense of morality, decency and empathy for anyone else to be with her and, for the sake of being with what compared to him was a goddess, he created a fantasy world to attract Lori to his wicked web. Apparently, he was a saint in the eyes of many, but I don't buy it... I don't believe for a second that this is the first time he has done something sinister and that this is the first time that he was the catalyst to so many murders. It was too easy for him to dispose of those on the way...

A lot of us have followed this for some time and it takes some unravelling and is almost unbelievable but they must think everyday what weirdness are we going to hear today. Melanie is slippery… she doesn’t come across like a credible witness at all especially when she claims memory issues… like, really, are her memory issues worse than any other person her age? And she can sure remember when it benefits her. She knows so much more than what she’s admitting. Further, how totally weird it was when she was first being interviewed by the police… she was basking in the attention. WHAT GROWN ADULT acts like that especially when children are in jeopardy? She comes across as incredibly weak & impressionable… and now she’s trying to weasel out of any accountability. YUCK!

What exactly is the use of this podcast? “Silver linings”? Ok…So you’re parlaying these deaths into some uplifting advice? Let’s not forget the cash grab of a book. This man is no hero. Lori Vallow and Alex Cox did not happen in a vacuum. Scratch below the surface in the Cox family and it becomes clear. Charles begged for their help. They shut him down and ignored him. Charles is dead now. I’m so tired of this family proclaiming they’re victims. Shine a light on this dark family.
