Two recent Dimash performances definitely worth reviewing are him singing with Placido Domingo and him performing his own song Omir with his brother. Then for another totally different level of his range, Olympico.

Two weeks prior to this, Dimash called Maestro Krutoy and asked him to compose an Ave Maria as a vocalization. Dimash is a Muslim so not into a Hail Mary words composition, just the music. Igor said it unsettled him momentarily but spoke that he could do it, went to his piano and two weeks later. Voila!
Igor is an older, phenomenally wealthy Russian Jew so the dynamics between him and Dimash are as complex as the music they produce together.
I found out about Dimash in the fall 2023... complete fluke that I found him on YT. Actually it was Justin Hawkins who did a reaction to Dimash S.O.S and I was floored... tears just coming down my face... i was a fan imediately and now I want to hear more. Dimash is a singer for the ages....

Dimash is just great, isn't he? He manages to lift people to heaven with just one vowel. He leaves me speechless every time I hear this song. And I love it when the drums come in. It's so unique. Igor Krutoy (the gentleman at the piano) composed this version of the Ave Maria at Dimash's request. Usually, Ave Maria is a prayer to the Holy Virgin Mary. In this case, however, it is a prayer for all people, no matter what religion they belong to. Besides that Dimash is a Muslim and Igor Kurtoy, who often accompanies him on the piano, is Jewish. That is why this Ave Maria has no lyrics, since it is not only sung for Christians. He sang this song on the New Wave in Sochi, Russia in 2021. This is an international contest for young performers founded by Igor Krutoy in 2002. Dimash sang here as a guest and was also a member of the jury. Igor Krutoy is a famous Russian-Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. I think he has incredibly beautiful hands🤭(and apparently many cameramen think so too, since many of the camera shots during his performances very often only show his hands. Sometimes it seems as if he is conducting himself. This is really fascinating). And the facial expression, the look. There he looks so commanding😱. In my opinion, this version of Olimpico is one of the most impressive performances ever. If you don't know what the song is about, you'd think he was going to war and is calling his army to a lost battle 😅! It’s absolutely stunning. A Christian hymn, composed by a Jewish man, and sung by a Muslim man. Truly, a prayer for the world. This version of “Ave Maria” is a variation adapted to Dimash's voice in order to explore only the three opening notes and changing the fourth note to a higher note. This was written by Igor Krutoy at the request of Dimash. I believe it is a vocalize because Dimash did not want it seen as a Christian song. He loves and respects his audience and Dears and he wanted this to be accessible to all, regardless of faith tradition. He believes music has no borders or boundaries.

Great job at your own Awakening ceremony of Dimash thru Ave Maria. You're a Dear. It's certified. Playing it twice, we all loved it. Thanks. However...... Apparently, people have been educating or writing to you for a while or even "riding" you here.😊. The most difficult thing is to pick your next one. Based on your list and who you are, it's Stranger or Olympico that will drop that jaw again of yours pretty easily, if that's what you want. Then they're sagas and tributes and such a variety from Dimash that it's hard to recommend to have you catch up with The GOAT and his goosebumping jaw-dropping performances.

Hello Doug, from Argentina, it is a true pleasure to listen to the beautiful Ave María by Dimash alongside someone who, like you, values his voice and really knows and loves music.
I have to admit that I'm frequently grateful to just be an average music listener that I can just sit back and enjoy the beauty of Dimash's performances without an overwhelming need to discover what key he's in or what note he's singing to distract me from the aural experience.
It's wonderful how people differ😀. For me, there are very few things more satisfying than sitting in front of the piano, exactly like Doug did, and trying to figure out what exactly Dimash does, both with the vocal line and the chord progression. Greetings from South Africa.

Welcome back to Dimash’s excellent singing. What a pleasure to have someone with your knowledge to listen analyze and enjoy this young talent. I know as you equip young college students to achieve their musical best you have a deep appreciation for all Dimash’s work to be this excellent in his late 20’s. I hope you find time to listen and enjoy more of Dimash’s catalog. There is no genre he has not performed. Just recently he performed with Placido Domingo and the respect in the duet not to overpower was impressive. If you want to see him using the mid eastern type scales I suggest stranger. You should react to some of Dimash’s own compositions, my favourites are El Amor En Ti (Dimash’s Amalty concert 2022, shows his beautiful lower registers (as well as his higher!)), The Story of One Sky (Live also at his Amalty concert 2022), Omir (Dimash wrote the music and the lyrics (Live performance released a few days ago (Feb 2024) with Dimash’s 17 year old brother on Acoustic guitar and Dimash on Vocals and Keyboard) Thanks for the great reaction! Very insightful analysis. Thank you. I would like suggest you listen to Olympico, Love Is Like A Dream, Ikanaide, Love of Tired Swans, Stranger, Simaltau, and Sinful Passion. Dimash's newest song, When I've Got You, is his first R&B/Jazz/Soul Performance and he nailed it. The official video of it is coming out on his official channel on Feb. 26th. Don't miss his awesome masterpiece, Story of One Sky, a music video which he wrote, composed and sang.As a composer yourself, you will appreciate two of several of his compositions, Unforgettable Day written when he was only 19, and his unique , amazing performance of El Amor En Ti, his first composition in Spanish. I feel remiss not listing every one of his songs. Each is a thrilling, mesmerizing experience. His versatility is incredible as well as his voice range. I listen to Dimash every day as often as I can. You also will want to listen to his duet with Placido Domingo performed as part of the Virtuoso Event in Budapest recently. It is gorgeous.
Give Olympico a hearing. It's another magical experience at the other end of the spectrum. Classical and his lower range is shown.
A version of a Christian standard written by a Russian Jew and sung by a Muslim man proving you don't need words to create a spiritual experience that transcends religious boundaries. This is as close as we will hear on earth what the angels in heaven sound like. If you don't believe in heaven, this is what you'll be missing. :) I've told my daughter I want this video played at my funeral when the time comes. Absolutely beautiful. To me this is the closest you will get to heaven without going there. Even though this isn't the Catholic Prayer version it still gets the message across beautifully

First,: Ave Maria is a superhuman vocal exception, which takes you by surprise. Being a vocal song, a pure masterpiece, the magic of Dimash's voice is unleashed in the ether and is the fire that burns the soul and heart through love, beauty, elevation and purity. .Second: From my point of view, I cannot make a top ranking of Dimash's songs, the original ones, regardless of the composer (Igor, Dimash or someone else), leaving aside the covers. I come back to the idea, so I can't make a top. Why? Simple: each song by Dimash has a different theme, a different melodic line, different feelings, different tonalities. Each track is unique in lyric, interpretation, musical essence and message. If you listen to one, you like it more, if you listen to another, you like it even more, you can't decide because you can't. There are pieces with a religious touch, patriotic pieces, pieces of love, pieces of courage etc. If in an interview Dimash was asked what song he likes, I don't know what answer he would give... Almost all of them are masterpieces. It is as if Dimash is a father of dozens of children. I don't think he could tell a difference between them.
