Thanks for this reaction! I’m so glad you have discovered Dimash, as I did 4 years ago. ! Im in the USA, and long for the day when he is appreciated here! My dream is to hear him in the Sphere!! He has been working with some great American composers and producers, David Foster and Walter Afanasief. He had a concert at Barkley Center in NYC in Dec. 2019 which drew fans from over 50 countries! However, one of the big setbacks was how he was treated when he was on WORLDS BEST SINGER show in 2019. They lied to him, not telling him he would be competing against children, which is against his Kazakh culture. He chose to drop out, giving up a sure 1 million dollar prize. They disrespected him for it. It was shameful. I think that soured Dimash on the American entertainment industry. You are right, he does and sings what he wants. He was offered a place in the Astana opera, but turned it down because he wants to experiment with all genres, not being placed in a box! His Father started DimashAli creative center for Dimash and is his manager. The Eastern cultures appreciate Dimash’s unique talent, so he performs more in Asia and Eastern Europe. Im just so grateful for KZhead, where he generously shares his music, live concerts and music videos. He has dears all over the world! I’m excited to go to Istanbul May 24 for his 30th birthday concert!

I agree with your friend that Dimash is the best singer of all time, and the question why he is not so well known in this part of the world, simple Dimash is an independent singer with an independent production company. His Dears (fans) who are found in all parts of the world and who are capable of crossing continents to see him in his concerts, we are in charge of making him known, to be fans of Dimash you have to be a person with values, respectful of his private life and be messengers of peace, unity, when you meet with Dears from different countries, no matter what language you speak we will always understand each other since we speak the same language which is that of friendship, respect and solidarity❤

Я два раза была на концертах Димаша. Действительно, видишь только Димаша и не замечаешь всего остального. Он заполняет собой всю сцену, забирает все внимание на себя. Его концерты длятся почти четыре часа. Как он выдерживает такую нагрузку? Он поражает. Димаш - чудо!

Dimash has said when asked, his vocal range is not the most important thing in his performance. The most important is conveying the emotion & having his audience feel that too and, having seen him live, he does that all the time. He's amazing at 'feeling' everything he sings & making the audience feel it too. He truly is a once-in-a-lifetime artist & i love that you, Joel, introduce so many to him. What Rocko said about Dimash singing what he wants is absolutely spot on. Dimash has said that he has a flaw in his personality in that he could not have someone tell him what to sing. I’m with your guest, I love my classic rock, mostly 70’s,80’s,90’s, and my little experience playing piano for choirs and solos, and singing my self growing up in church. But even my little spec of knowledge, I know Dimash should be a world treasure! He is the best singer in the world! The most talented!😊
Rocko's insight of Dimash being the GOAT is spot on. Dimash as a performer is simply mesmerizing. His connectivity with the audience is profound. Over the years since the Singer series Dimash I found can reach into your soul, grab hold, massage, pierce the veneer of past hurt, and in some small way he heals. Talk to anybody who has attended a live concert, they come away affected and even changed. I call Dimash my soul menderer. He is a gift to humanity crossing all genres. Thanks for all you do.

Igor Krugoy is an extremely famous composer in Russian. When he heard Dimash’s voice, he came out of retirement to many quite a few songs for Dimash. Both are very good friends and Dimash has great respect for Igor’s compositions and remain the best of friends. Both of you should watch Dimash’s latest release, “When I’ve got you”, it’ll surprise both of you!! In 2023, Dimash has does several concerts but he’s spent quite a bit if time I’m Los Angeles and New York City working on a couple of projects but also learning English better, becoming more fluent and learning to pronounce English better. I think English is extremely difficult just as Chinese is incredibly difficult for English-speaking people to pronounce correctly. I say this because it takes years for children to learn their native tongue. It takes years for nerves to grow and innervate the structures that’s produce sound and specific phonetics. Given that Kazakhstan is next to China, it may be easier for Dimash to speak and sing in Chinese. There may be similarities in pronunciation which would mean the nerves innervate the vocal muscles, particularly the tongue in a similar manner. In turn, it would also be a good reason why English may be different for people in Asiatic countries to pronounce English without an accent. Although I’m American I had an extremely difficult time trying to speak Chinese or Vietnamese. As a neuroscientist, I know that learning a language with completely different tongue movements and positions gets harder as we age because nerves to don’t move as easily. I give Dimash a lot of credit for tackling the correct pronunciation for so many songs in languages. I agree with your guest in today’s video, I used to say Dimash is a once in a generation singer but with further thought, I believe him to be the best ever or at least in a multigenerational perspective due to his precise attack of his pitch, his intense studying of many genre (classical, contemporary/ pop, rock, jazz and even musicals. He’s got 2 bachelor degrees in the genres I previous mention, a masters in composition and he continues to learn native, historical tribal music - he has a voracious appetite to learn and perfect as he creates his own genre called neoclassical. I believe he desires the freedom to constantly learn new genres to make his music as enjoyable to the audiences as possible. Personally, I don’t believe there’s another singer with such vast abilities in the world. I don’t believe we’ll hear the likes of Dimash’s beautiful tone, timber precision and range for many decades to hundreds of years, if ever again. I know Dimash would be uncomfortable with such praise, but it’s my belief. So we must take advantage of being able to hear him live as many times as possible. Thank you for another great video!

He nailed it about Dimash singing what he wants. Listened to an interview where Dimash, his dad, and Igor said that he doesn’t need to do simple songs that have a limited shelf life. He looks mainly for songs with meaning that will stand the test of time. An innovator, genius, humanitarian.

With Lara Fabian and Aida Garifulina in Ti amo cosi or with Zarina in Question of honor, with Victor Ma ... or a little girl in Virtuosos, with Plácido Domingo and with three excellent singers making a cover from Queen in The singer... and each time that he share the stage in China or Russia with local singers... 12:37 Dimash es muy profesional y cuando hace colaboraciones con otros artistas jamás los opaca. Empasta muy bien con quien sea que cante con él, aunque desde luego, en algún momento de la canción hace algo extraordinario, pero nada de hacer sombra al otro artista, ya sea cantante o instrumentista (en Stranger, por ejemplo, hace un match perfecto con el kobyz)

I totally agree with Rocko! I don’t think any singer ever whether classical or contemporary can compare! And you are so right that Dimash is great at being an entertainer as well. There are a number of duets Dimash did with other artists. He is really good at matching his voice except in one recent duet in China where the arranger did not seem to aim at equalizing them. Dimash sounded like he was running circles around her! 😂😂😂

Tell the stage manager that Dimash is 6’3” and has big feet but he does change the shoes he wears. He even wears sneakers. When performing in the rain, he tokens off his shoes and almost got pulled off the stage by one of his over anxious fans. Dimash doesn’t out sing his partner when he sings a duet! As a matter of fact he sometimes under sings what he can do! 😊❤️

Yes, this is a monumental song written by Igor Krutoy for Dimash, that he sung 5 years ago! He recently made a foray into R&B, blues with his new epic music video "When I've got you". Everything he does seems to set a new standard of excellence and I know you'll love this one, especially how he entertains us and keeps us guessing! PS, there's often english lyrics available on most of his video's and the words show the emotions he portrays. All of his songs have a good message, what I love as much as anything, the poetry and passion in his songs. Thanks for a great reaction from a stage managers point of view!

This video is from his huge stadium concert Bastau in Kazakhstan in 2017. Please let him know he sings all genre. Pop, Rock, Folk, Rap, Jazz, Techno, Etc Etc. Not just classical. Dimash has all the tools in his toolbox. He needs to hear more. The term Roadie hear is someone carrying in the gear for the star. That's probably not just what roadies do but it would be nice to know more ❤

He will be 30 years old on May 24. He is doing a concert in Istanbul that day. He is doing one in Budapest on May 4th. If you want to be blown away, watch his concert in Almaty form last year. It is in 3 parts . Also watch Unforgettable Day. He goes off the keyboard. I will see if I can the right video. I know Throga has it on their site. Oh he could do a duet with a Celine Dion. He just did a duet with Placido Dominga. Also you havent touched one percent of Dimash. He has been invited to the United Nations in Geneva, has been a guest of many heads of state in many countries. Also Alex N Chanel has done a lot of covering Dimash. His fans span the globe. He did appear in NYC back in 2019. I went down the Dimash rabbit hole a year ago and havent come out.

Great conversation! I have to comment on his remarks about Dimash's shoes...so funny. Those shoes were definitely ugly, but I'm guessing he wore those for comfort since that was a 3-hr. concert. There's footage of him at his concerts running around in socks or bare feet because he's taken off uncomfortable shoes! 😅

Yes - he is! The Greatest Singer Ever! 😄 LOVE to see Dimash & Rocko Reedy collab in some way - in future!? Who knows! {This wasn't a small budget BTW. This was the Opening Ceremony of the European Games! } And this was his1st performance of the 1st song the great composer; Igor Krutoy wrote especially for 'The voice of Dimash'. Who else after all on the planet could sing it!? It was a Huge Deal great opportunity for Dimash, giving him vast exposure to an international audience beyond Eastern Europe and parts of Asian where he was already well known. # I Want Rocko to watch it again! I was wondering if he - as a Stage Manager - would pick up the HUGE PROBLEM DIMASH HAD HERE IN THIS PERFORMANCE! He didn't - but I'd still be interested in his opinion on it. What was this Huge Problem? Dimash's Inner Ear Monitors were not working, and he was trying - repeatedly - with gestures {ie: clapping his hands to his ears etc. & trying to make this look part of the performance! } to signal this to the sound engineers that he couldn't barely hear the backing orchestration or choir. For him to get through the entire performance, and stay in time and perfect pitch... Well. it's Dimash! And, on the topic of Angel's... his parents did name him Given By God, so... Of course, that, and being his countries most prominent Cultural Ambassador carry weighty burdens of expectation and responsibility- not all of them realistic. So it's important - in the midst of all this 'perfection' - to remind ourselves that he's also just a guy, with normal human traits and fallibilities. { Just ask his Mom! 😂🤣😆} Good to see him branching out even more and having some fun with his latest one: "When I've Got You". Keep up the good work in sharing Dimash, I see Rocko is now doing the same now that he's been 'Dimashified'! 😂 Oh, and tell Rocko; No Dimash doesn't have any 'extra vocal chords', but his early vocal coaches did have his throat examined and found he had abnormally long vocal chords for a male. Hence his Male Soprano range. As for his smooth transitions between registers, that's the product of specialist classical voice training + YEARS of practice. 👍

Thank you, Joel, for this excellent Dimash reaction. It was a very unusual format, with an April Fool's Day cohost, and went on for a comparatively long time, but I enjoyed every minute of it! I've seen a number of reactions by you but had never seen Rocko anywhere, and I found his entire commentary very poignant in his great admiration of Dimash. It seems Rocko has the same opinion that I and many, many others do : that Dimash is the best singer on Earth at the moment, and not just by a little bit, either, but by miles and miles and miles.
