HyperX Pulsefire FPS Mouse Review (Large 94g 3310 optical with Omron switches)
No doubt this sounds great if you're looking for a large gaming mouse for FPS (and even MOBA), and it is great... with the exception of the sides. It's not that they're really bad, it's just it's too similar to other mice (like the Razer DeathAdder) to be able to have a design like that.
You could say it's personal preference and it's not a deal breaker, but at the same time... the only thing that really separates this from others is how wide it is, and maybe the cost, depending where you're from.
It's a great first mouse from HyperX and I look forward to seeing more from them. Buttons, sensor, feel, performance, everything is pretty good. If not for the sides, I would rank this higher. It's worth checking out anyway!

I love how you got straight to the point with this video. Your channel is great and has changed the way I look at mice. I'm using a razer orochi right now and I wish you reviewed it, because now I'm kind of regretting my purchase, even though I think it feels good. Next time I'll be watching all your videos before I make my next purchase.
i would love a mouse designed by u
Kuya BL This is a great idea.
Kuya BL i wouldnt. its already an oversaturated market
Just gotta wait till he's big enough of a KZheadr to have an ifluence to the point where "x" company would like to have him design a mouse. Looking forward to that day.
The last time something similar has happened was with the Finalmouse Scream One, which was announced way to early, was released way to late, had problems upon release and by the time of it's release wasn't much special anymore, as other companys made small, FPS focused mice with the 3366/3360 sensor. So it propably will not happpen soon, and currently it wouldn't make much sense to specially design a mouse for a youtuber, if the shape isn't great it will only be bought by hardcore fans, if the shape is great, sales will be lower than normal, because not all people like all youtubers, so a special edition will be most likely.
I'd buy 7 of them. One for every day of the week.
wow your channel is getting bigger. I still remember it was around 10K subs but now it is 70k+ gj. I hope you will reach 1 million subs someday in future.
Best mouse reviewer in youtube hands down. Blessings to you my friend
i hate mice with side grips my cheeto dust gets stuck in them
If you touch your electronics with dirty / greasy hands then you don't deserve your electronics.
Okay MOM
fucking clean your hands
Zowie EC1-A has none, i love my white version...
Oh dood when I eat junk food while gaming bc why not kid
Best review in general I've ever seen. The right tempo, all the info and extra info. Nice man!
Been looking at this one for a while! Thank you for reviewing it so much! Love your vids man
Is it a good idea to buy it?
I just want to say I appreciate you putting some extra details in the title, before I clicked the video I had an idea of its size, it's weight, it's sensor and the switches it uses, and from the thumbnail I could see it was a pretty standard shape for fps but with noticeably slanted sides. No other channel does this so well and it really makes it easy to find a suitable mouse so thanks.
Thanks for this review, been looking forward to it. I handled the Pulsefire in a store like a week ago and the shape actually felt amazing to me (19.5 cm x 10 cm hands, claw grip). Kind of similar to the Deathadder but actually more comfortable for me because it doesn't have the protruding edges toward the front, like the DA does. I actually didn't notice the weirdly angled sides, but then again I wasn't playing with it. I guess I'll wait and see what Nixeus is doing with their ergo mouse and then decide what I'll get to fulfill my ergo needs (currently using the Revel), but the Pulsefire will definitely stay on my consideration list.
Thanks man, recently bought it and i love it
Thank you for the review. I was looking to go between this mouse and Cooler Master S, since i couldn't wait CS S was a good choice. Found one for 25e. It's a top 40 mouse from your list, which by the way helped me decide, thank you for that. Keep up the good work.
Excellent review. This guy is always professional !
Thank you Zy ! You are the best reviewer. Keep up the good work.
I have tried over 20 different mice and this one is by far my favorite
Just got the Ec2-a and I'm loving it so far. No complaints even if a lot of people don't like the tight mb1/2, scroll wheel and side buttons.
Nice review, didn't even know this one existed. Btw, could you review to these mice as well: Thermaltake Ventus X Optical (basically an EC1-A with a 3360) Razer Lancehead EVGA Torq X5 Optical (85g budget mouse with a 3988)
I am using this for last few days - it's awesome :)
Love your videos!
Thanks you for the review. The angle on the sides is actually a deal breaker for me :( thought about getting this one since my g400s is slowly dying. I will probably look out for the g403 now
br0wni3 have you tried opening it and moving the cable? it can split at the angle in the cable routing inside the mouse
My g403 feels like orgasm in my hand. No need to fap.
Ryan Bee i know what you mean. It just feels so good to rest my hand on.
I have a g403 its great and all its just my hands are too big for the mouse especially for a palm gripper. Its great though and I still use it.
Stresses ex i can relate that's why i like the pulsefire more because it is designed for big hands and i like bigger mice
Hey RJN, I really like your videos and your website because they help me choose my gaming gear for my upcoming build. But I have a question, it might sound silly, but hear me out: Do white mice feel different because almost every white version of mice I've seen, they are all glossy where as their black/standard counterpart is usually matte. Does this affect in anyway how you handle the mouse, the ergonomics and such? Also, have you heard of Ozone brand? I'm thinking of getting an Ozone Neon M50 but only the white version is in stock. There's also the Neon 3K(which is black) which is 10eur cheaper but the M50 seems to have a better sensor and more customization options. I hope you reply :)
My experience with this mouse is good I have been using it for a year and I think it's noice and I see no problem with the mouse
Nice review, but could you test the Qpad DX-20 maybe? I want to buy this mouse someday, but im not sure if its good and i couldn't test it in a store.
Zy, you should review the Zowie G-SR SE if you get the chance. I'd be really interested in your thoughts on it!
the last minute of your video really shows well on which level you are in quake.. 'Impressive'
I just realised that I have the same hand size as Zy and we both love Quake and make music on FL studio. Seems legit.
Wow, came here for a quick review and left with a better education. Thanks for the video bro. +Subb'd
that 180 rail frag was NICE
I bought the mouse yesterday and its pretty good! Don't really have that much of an issue since I play MOBA and haven't really tried it on a FPS game. Overall I'd say my purchase was worth it
pity about the sides
You had me at "It's very similar to the Deathadder, just wider" -- I have a Deathadder Elite and want to get away from their software. Most mice smaller than the Deathadder are too narrow for me, and I don't have somewhere for my pinky to rest next to my ring finger. I see this at Best Buy right now at $46. I don't play FPS anymore really (World of Tanks is the closest I get) as my reflexes aren't as good as they were in my low 20s, lol. I don't see the "picking up" thing with sliding being an issue for me.
have been using this mouse for 2 months and haven't come to this problem...my favourite mouse right now
You should do a review on the Razer Lancehead
Personally I appreciate that Kingston takes the approach and having plug and play peripherals with no software necessary. The Cloud II and Revolver S have plug and play 7.1 with a usb adapter, the alloy fps has all of that lighting jazz onboard, and now this mouse requires no software for DPI adjustment and such. Also other than the LEDs on the alloy fps (backlighting on keyboards is more "normal" to me), they aren't throwing unnecessary LEDs on everything. I like the minimalist approach.
Zy i tried this hyperx just one time and for some minutes but it gave me an unbelivable impression, considering my palm grip. You suggest me to try also something else or i can definetly check this? :)
Really surprised you haven't done the Razer LanceHead review yet.
I'm in Australia... I'll be lucky to get one by next week.
Rocket Jump Ninja G'day mate. Quick question, since you test so many different mouse you must have found the perfect way to find your exact sensitivity back all the time, right?
Are you going to review the Lancehead TE?
Hi Zy, loving your videos and hoping to see more Quake Champions on your channel soon. I have a question I'm hoping you could answer in regards to extended periods of mouse usage. I work in front of a PC and then later at home I game on a PC, and lately, I've been feeling my mouse hand aching, and discomfort on the wrist. I also sometimes feel discomfort on the ring finger and little finger when I clench my hand. This only happens occasionally but I'm afraid it could get worse. Do you have any health advice for a heavy user like myself?
I work on a computer and use a mouse all day and night... no pain. Make sure your arm is rested at the elbow somehow (chair/desk). Make sure you're comfortable. Take breaks. Stretch your hand. And get a comfortable mouse, of course.
Much appreciated. I think the problem might be my chair at work as it puts my elbow in an awkward position. My TT eSports Black at home is fading though (click is busted and double-clicks sometimes), so I should be looking into a new purchase, possibly with a similar form factor and price or something else if it proves more comfortable. Thank you for your time Zy
You should get the Razer Lancehead Tournament/Wireless edition and make a review!
Just bought this mouse today for my new gaming laptop because I was tired of stealing mine off of my desktop whenever I go anywhere. It feels great and the switches are amazing and I would stand by this mouse it is extremely comfortable. At least for as long as I have had id it is amazing and I would definitely recommend it. But! if you purchase it at Best Buy you should price match it with amazon.com because it is 10 dollars cheaper on there. Unless you don't mind waiting for amazon shipping!
If not for the size I'd buy it over the G203 thanks to the higher lift-off. That's the only reason I'm getting the G203 as I've heard it has a bit higher lift-off compared to the Pro/G403 etc..
hey can you review the g300s need to know if its good for fast flicks since i do lots of rocket jumping in tf2
Could you review the Logitech G300s? It's the mouse I use and I'd like to hear your opinion on it!
What should I get Corsair Glaive or Razer Deathadder or Logitech G502?
Would you review the keyboard hyperx fps alloy? I have it with the cherry MX brown keys and I love it
its a shame that the sides don't quite cut it but it'll be good to see their next iteration of the mouse as HyperX grenerally make really good products
What would you recommend as a good exercise/s to improve aim?
I think that how you sit and how your arm is positioned is a huge factor in how well you play a FPS. It's not an easy thing to achieve with limited furniture options. I was playing QC earlier and thinking about this and thinking about how I was using the mouse and it improved my play a bit. I don't think the mouse is the biggest factor.
should i get this over a g303 or a g402? this onw would conplete my setup since i hva an alloy fps gaming keyboard from hyperx
Pretty good
iam thinking of getting one of these mice : logitech g203/ cooler master mm530 and this mice in the video... which one is better and rightnow i only play fps games "pubg fortnite cs go overwatch BF1 are the only online games i have and i dont plan of adding one soon... and plz tell me the name of the game u started the video with
now there is the razer deathadder elite, asus rog gladius and gladius II, and the hyperX pulsefire, which is pretty identical shpe. the razer has the pmw3389-t3qu, the asus i dont know, and the pulsefire has the famous 3310 just like zowie's mouses. the sensors already really good. now whats matter is the comfortability and shape...
I had an issue with my older mouse, the issue was when i spin my mouse from side to side the cross going up or down. For this problem i ordered this mouse and at 4:20 i saw the same problem. Is the sensor on this mouse bad?
what mice would you recommend me to get based on hand size and the fact that I will be playing mainly FPS games . oh BTW I have 18/11 cm hands
Hyperx Pulsefire or Logitech g403 or Logitech G402? I am a claw gripper. 19.5 x 9.75 cm. I mainly play CS:GO, rainbow six siege and Overwatch. Also competitively on cs:go. any recommendation to which one?
Lancehead TE Review!!!!!!!! plz
I am used to death adder but I wanna try a new mouse should I get this one because is not that expensive compare to death adder? Wait you didn't mention about the driver, a 50 dollars mouse doesn't have a driver are u serious?
So many mice have this problem. the new Razer DA E, ring finger side has zero mechanical grip. The lancehead is just as bad both sides.
I still love my EC2-A
Bought this mouse from Best Buy less than a week ago, and my main issue with it is pretty much as you described: the sides. They especially don't work well when my hands get sweaty, because then the sides get slippery, and the mouse then becomes even harder to get a good grip on. Thinking of getting a refund, which is a shame, because the mouse works well besides that.
I tried this mouse out in store and it was soooo comfortable
Taiwan #1 unfortunately I got to try it after I ordered my mouse which was the Corsair m65 pro rgb. But apart from the amazing feel of the hyperx, the Corsair is better since it has a better sensor, software, rgb so.....
zentak It cant be as bad as your spelling
David Raffo ikr
Hey Zy, I played against you in champions a few days ago and was wondering what fov setting you use? Is there any advantage for using a lower one?
SpArk generally higher FOV is advantages
I bought mine 7 months ago, and I find that the shape seems too big for me now, and it spins out every once in a while (this could be due to me slamming the mouse a lot, so keep that in mind). Also the fact that it picks up sweat is annoying for my sweaty hands. Looking to replace this with something similar to the Steelseries Rival 110, but idk what yet. I also don't know what to do with the pulsefire if I replace it.
Razer or Zowie should design a mouse with you. Thanks to you i got the best mouse suited for me.
hoo boy that was a vicious flick
If you are looking for a mouse under $150, and you had the newest ever death adder but you could also choose this hyperx mouse, what would you get? I need to know
zy i have 21cm x 11cm. from all large mice i got from your mouse review (large), that are including g403, ec1, razerdeathadder elite, rival 600, corsair glaive, fk1+,za11 , i conclude that pulsefire were the best and most consistent for me. i can palm very well and i got to global rank in csgo because of this mice. palm grip 18-21cm . not 18-20cm
I'm getting the hyperx mouse.
I don’t think the shape/grip is actually bad at all, Imo it’s very comfortable, the only issue is that my hands sweat a lot, so the mouse can start to slip after a long period of use.
Can you make a review of the "TRUST GXT 188 Laban RGB" please.
i thought of recommending this mouse with one of my friend
If the price is the same, which one do you recommend between this one and the G403?
@Rocket Jump Ninja Does this mouse slide out of your hands while gaming? It is $45 cheaper than mice like the Rival 310 and G403 at this time in my country
If you have sweaty hands you can have grip problems.
I have one it's really good but I hate the fact that u can't change the lights or turn them off
So do you HAVE to have a hyperx keyboard in order to play with a hyperx pulsefire mouse?
Razer DA or Hyperx Pulsefire? i have DA should i change for pulsefire?
hey rocket jump ninja would you pick this mouse over g402 for csgo?
I feel like this could work for me, the da is too thick and the ec1a is good but a more neutral sided mouse would be interesting to try, might be bad though Or maybe I'm bad
@Rocket Jump Ninja do u recommend this i have a deathadder and i feel its to low i think this mouse is good for me but im not sure about the pulse fire but im trying to get this or deathadder chroma
Eli deathadder elite or g403. Better at any way
i just bought this yesterday and noticed the left mouse clicks softer than the right click as compared to my g502 ( like if I one tap in cs go it sometimes burst specially when the game gets intense). I returned it hopefully they replace it wtf.. how does yours click?
someday you will make me messure my hand size before buying a mouse lol
@4:10 is were u can't play with it if ur super low sens :0 4:10
Can you review the Rog Gladius 2?
FINALLY
Can you do a review on the pulsfire fps pro ?
Could you do a review of Newskill renshi guang mouse?
Razer Lancehead please
I agree... still waiting for it. #AustraliaCurse
Rocket Jump Ninja I'm having trouble getting comfortable with it at least from browsing around. (havn't had a chance to game due to finals). The HyperX however nearly immediately felt comfortable.
TheNinjaTNTChickenGaming-Minecraft MWAVE?
It's insanely awesome, love the shape, sensor and clicks are awesome but I fear it'll be just a few grams too heavy for a lot of the pro scene, it's so well balanced though perfect middle weight.
Though Razer had one with your name on it? Did they just put your name on it and never ship it?
Bro, tell your feedback looking on roccat Leadr
I need help, Hyperx pulsefire or Cougar minos x3?? or logitech G403..?
pls recommend me a mouse i have 20 cm by 11 cm hands ,i use palm grip ,like ergonomic design and very low lift of distance im using the gigabyte m6900 for the last 4 years but i find it a bit small and i have no issue with the sensor
razer deathadder elite has the same slipping issue but its fine tbh
Can you review the rog gladius 2 ?I think it can compete this mice and the deathadder, please!
潘羿瑋 if it's the same as the original the clicks don't cut it as their placed oddly
The switch is better I think
Elliot Kaufman and it got pwm3360 sensor
hyperx pulsefire vs corsair glaive what s your thing
Ive been hypex for this mouse, i love hyperx's products! Nice review.
Too big of a mouse for me though.
what software do i use cuz hyperx ngenuity dont work with this mouse forme
My hand size is 20cm in length and 11cm in width, what grip is best? (terrible at figuring out that graph he showed)
Which is more worth the money, this or the Razer Abyssus v2?
This is the best mouse ive ever owned i retured my g403 for this and dont regret
@@rakhoo5236 its up to you everyone has different perspective ...I like this mouse but it started having a squeeky scroll wheel after 3 days.
Also the sides are not good for claw grip but i just got used to it still i still like this mouse though.
I just bought this mouse a couple days ago and I don't know why but whenever I use it the cursor spazz's out and I cant find out how to fix it.
yall can say what u want i love this mouse
Hey Rocket Jump, I absolutely love your nice reviews, but for this particular one, I have a refutation to your point on the slipping grip. I have owned my Pulsefire for almost one year, and while I did have the problem of my fingers slipping to begin with, after 2 weeks of use the rubber broke in very nicely and sticks to my fingers well enough to not require a convex side panel. Please keep up the good work
