Top sensor, low weight, flexible cable, amazing scroll wheel, great buttons, RGB lights... on paper this is in the Top 10 of 2019, easily. But the shape has an extreme curve on the thumb side and a pretty big curve on the right side too. That makes it unsafe.
What does that mean? It means while it could be number 1 for a lot of people out there, it's hard to know who to recommend it to. I've heard mixed reports. Some say they hate the shape. Others say they love it. Personally, I'm not a fan. So I'm not sure who to recommend it to.
I'm really happy to see Xtrfy step up with a mouse like this though. If they ever make a shape I like, I'm sure I'll be putting it high on the Top Mice list. Until then, it's up to you... is it the type of mouse you like?

Actually struggled with this shape, those curves are too big for my hand. I've heard others can aim really well with them though, phaze (Quake pro) said it's really good for tracking in Apex Legends, he uses claw grip with a hand about 19x10 I think? So might be good, but it's not for me and while I can generally get an idea of who a mouse would suit, I couldn't figure this one out, which is the main reason it took me so long to review it. Anyway, see what you think! It's a top mouse, just not sure who the shape is going to suit. That said, lots of people say it's very comfortable for general use.
I used to fear phaze in ra3.
I still fear phaze in RA3.

shape is overrated, what u need to realize is you eventually get used to the shape and most shapes are just slight minute changes over basic symmetrical / ergo shapes. When I first got the mm 710 after my g203 died, I felt like I had done a blunder and my aim sucked. But then I switched from 1-3-1 to 1-2-2 and from finger tip to hybrid palm-finger tip grip and in a week my aim is now better than ever before!. Fact is you choose a grip style based on ur mouse if you already have one and you choose a mouse to suit your grip style and hand size if u r getting one. Even then you have to adjust ur grip when u get a new mouse. Those who try to grip every mouse the same way and complain the mouse is bad are just dumb!.
@@therealb888 ok boomer
That's only true if it involves changing your grip. You can't tell me a palm grip user on a Deathadder will simply get used to a G203. It's the difference between having a stable platform to work from, and not. In the reverse direction, going from a low profile mouse fingertip, to a palm-filling one will just reduce the flexibility you have.
I've had this mouse for a couple of weeks and so far, I love it. Mine has no creaking issues, so it was probably just those early samples. I have no problem with my thumb placement at all, but my one tiny complaint is related to the shape and width. During long gaming sessions, I sometimes get annoyed with my little finger placement, which is slightly wider out than I would have liked. But like I said, it only occasionally starts to annoy me after using it for several hours, and it's certainly not enough for me to stop using the mouse. I'm really happy with it.
Thanks for the review. I was really curious about possibly getting this mouse but now I think i'll wait till they come out with a version 2 or different shape that could be more comfortable/easier to aim with.

Damn das true!
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR THIS REVIEW
Pretty sure it's the most professional review I've seen on youtube. Thanks buddy for the great work you do.
I bought an M4 retro and I'm in love with how it fits my hand. No creaking in my version fortunately.
What’s your hand dimensions?
These may be my favorite highlights. I was never going to buy this, I'm just here for the show. :D
I had the Model O, Viper Ultimate and Model D. Now I have the M4 and the grip is much better than the previous ones for me. (18.5x9.5, and I always used ambidextrous mouses)
I love this mouse, fitts me veeeery well and my aim got more accurate with it compared to the zowie ec-2a!
It's always nice to see more variation on shape. There is only so much room for the general safe shape. I personally applaud diversity in mouse shapes. That being said I don't think I will use this one personally.
i got this mosue 2 months ago or so .With my hybrid claw/finger grip its amazing ! i improved my aim records ineverything
I have tried almost all mice possible, this and ec2a fits my hand like a glove, almost all other mice i struggle with. Guess its all preference and how your hands built. If this had the comfort curves at the buttons it would be the best mouse ever for me, dont get why they didnt add that.
Just my two cents since I got it (using for about a week or so). My previous mouse was a Logitech G402, so the first key difference was the weight, obviously (almost cut in half). I do believe it's much easier to aim (and I feel more precise) with this one than the G402, not only because of the weight, but also the size. In terms of shape, to me (18x9 hands) I think it's pretty great. I understand the thing about the "forced placement" because of it's shape (still getting accustomed to it), but I think it's pretty good (I find it a bit similar to the G402, maybe that's why I feel confortable on it). The main downpoint I'm feeling right now (might be because I'm still not used to it) are the side buttons. Even though they're high quality, because of the way I grip it (the head of the thumb is basically below the front side button, and the thumb itself is pretty close to the mousepad) I feel that they're hard to press or, if I press them, I have to do this weird thumb movement, because of the button being so flat shaped (whereas the G402 had more of a "body" to it and felt a bit easier to press). Hope this gives a bit more insight if you're undecided about buying this one, since these are aspects that are more specific.
I love mine, its perfect. No stuttering or what so ever i love it
If you guys are struggling with this shape, the way that you should try to hold it is to have your thumb rest on the side, then the fatty muscle near your thumb knuckle rest on the back. Then arch your thumb ever so slightly. By using it this way, your thumb muscles create a stable point of control while maintaining a lot of wiggle room for micro adjustments.
Still amazed with my razer viper! Just love watching your videos. Always great commentary and gameplay even if I do not play quake! Just had to add more how great those highlights are!
I just ordered one 2 days ago. I am very excited for it when it arrives
@@Comedy-Mode You will love it!
I’ve had mine for a while and I aim just as well as I did with my s2, g305, and rival 600. Just took a couple days longer to get used to.
I tried this in a store and it feels awesome!
I just bought this the day before you uploaded this, Saw it irl in a store and have never really felt a "lighweight" honeycomb mouse before and i was blown away even though its not that light compared to other mouses on the market, i aim good with it, feels like my old rival 300 i had before my g pro wired. Cable does hold shape abit but its only been one day :) so far really happy with it but if infinity skins where released for it i would love it :D Glossy gray edition.

You guys are like a hungry wolf pack. Man just reviewed one of the mice you have been asking for and now all I see are more requests - he has a life you know.
Well it is his job to do this
Pepe The Packer Fan It’s literally his job to review mice. He gets paid to do it, and our views are what makes that possible. Why on earth would you suggest we shouldn’t recommend mice for him to review? It’s inevitable that he’s going to do more reviews, so if he can give his viewers what they want, why wouldn’t he? Don’t be naive man
True... recommendations are fine. I wish people would check comments and see I've already said yes though. No need to ask the same over and over.
Rocket Jump Ninja Agreed, I find that annoying as well. Anyways keep up the great content!! You’re the first person I go to when it comes to mice, and you’re the reason I decided to pickup the MM710 a few days ago - I love it!
This is my main mouse since half a year back. The shape is not a problem for me personally. My aim is pretty solid and not hindered by the shape at least. I was a bit sceptical to the plug and play philosophy where they have absolutely no software for the mouse, even though it is very handy to not be dependent on any software too. I just miss the possibility to write macros for the mouse. My main reason for buying this mouse was its low weight. This really make a difference in gaming I think. It also fits my fingertip type grip very well. No squeeking sound in my mouse when I push it at least. It feels solid and well built. I would definetely recommend this mouse. But as Ninja says, the shape is very important. If you don't like it then it wont matter how good the mouse is.
Thanks to your reviews I've finally been able to find a mouse that's perfect for me.
whats the mouse?
Josh Exton mm710
Copped one despite this, hoping I'd be one of the people it works for because it's a similar-ish shape to my G403, and I dig it so far. Got the Tokyo edition with the new cable that's wayyy nicer than the one here. It was a pretty quick transition from the G403 to this, just getting used to how much lighter it is, feels great.
I love this mouse. I bought it because it looked similar to the rival 310, which was my previous favorite with one flaw that was very hard to deal with (accidental scroll wheel activations when clicking right mouse). I will admit that it did take me a little bit to get used to it, and I did put some lizard skin on it for grip, but it seems to perform very well in my hands. At the moment, this is probably the closest you will get to a rival in lightweight form, so if that's what you're after, this is probably the mouse.
Bought a model o minus cus of the vid you had on it and honestly has been the best mice ive had so far
Went from g402 to the M4 and i find it comfortable. Love that they placed the DPI button on the bottom of the mouse. My biggest problem with the Logitech G402 was constantly hitting the DPI switch on the side accidentally. Good review.
I have a g502 and i want a lighter mouse but im hesitating between the model d, the xtrfy m4 and the mm710. I use palm grip, what mouse do u think could be better for me ? Thank you
Also is there a solution to set a different sensibility ?
This is a win for me cause I actually love that curve
Would love to see a review on the G-Wolves Skoll. As always great reviews!

@@NoBody-bm9if It's lighter and has subtle differences that are very noticeable when it's in your hand. Not to mention these reviews cover build quality too! I have one and I'd take it over an EC2 in most, but not all of my games.
@@NoBody-bm9if this m4 is basically a rival 310, the GM O is basically a fk 1 what's the point of reviewing these?

I loved the rival 310, no idea why I got rid of it as I did fine with it. This one's caught my eye recently. I can safely predict I'll be loving the shape.
Hey Zy! Decided to comment on your latest video instead of the high vs low dpi debate video. I'v been playing CS:GO since 2016 and CS 1.6 since 2008, so I do have a fair ammount of experience as well as highest rank/faceit level. I've been playing pretty much exclusively on 400 dpi but decided to change to 2000 dpi about 6 months ago because I saw your video (and also because I play with 1000 edpi and 0.5 is a nice even number). What I am going to describe is purely my "feeling" of each dpi. I feel like I have a more controlled and steady aim even at higher sensitivities at 400 dpi with decent precision. Where I do start noticing slightly worse precision is when I am having those longer ranged fights (dust2 site A to long for example) but I noticed that it didn't impact me that much. Having played with 400 dpi for so long I learned it so well that I kinda know how to position myself correctly to still hit the shot (it's very subtle but definetly something I notice thanks to my experience). Now onto 2000 dpi. One thing I immediately noticed was that it felt a bit faster (which I didn't mind at all) and a bit more jerky. After playing with it for a while I definetly felt like I was being more accurate, from small flicks to full on 180s everything felt more fluid. Being a claw/fingertip user I was delighted to have the extra accuracy and freedom of movement with smaller flicks and tracking. Even my bigger flicks got better, it was as if my muscle memory felt more in sync with 2000 dpi as opposed to 400. I think people just don't know exactly how much better higher dpi is (again, it can be a bit subtle but definetly noticeable after some time) and in my opinion everyone should at least give higher dpi a try. One more thing I would like to point out is that one of my other reason to switch was that I noticed some pro players actually switching to higher dpi (in most cases from 400 to 800). One example that comes to mind is TenZ, a player that relies on his aim a lot with great success.
I use this mouse at the office and not for gaming. Very comfortable and goes well with my metro themed keyboard :D. There is one thing that I think a lot of people don't realize. I have used the model-o for the better half of a year and I found that the mouse actually generates a lot of heat through the holes. This one however generates no heat and it actually quite cool with the plastic they use and the air ventilation from the holes :P. I love it!
Hi, love the videos man. Been watching since you had 200,000 or 300,000 subs. Always thought that you would get big. I'd wish youd make a comparison video between razer viper mini and the m4. I just bought the viper mini but I'm not sure if it was the right choice. Got small hands and liked the shape of the m4 very much. Or you could just tell me in the comments if you don't got time for a whole video :) Keep up the great work.
What is your hand size? I couldn't grip Viper Mini comfortably with 16.5x9.5cm hand :( I like M4 shape but my aim is inconsistent (not sure if it's because of inconsistent feet or the shape being a little to big) Did you buy any other mouse that fits your small hand?
I preordered this and i found it really comfy to use for palm or fingertip (18x10 hands) both ways i had my fingers almost flat over the top of the mouse with my thumb gripping just barely a little forward from where the back left of the mouse juts out, but i do agree this mouse isn't necessarily for everyone

One question I have is whether you test mice with your usual fingertip grip, or test all 3 grip styles? Because this mouse is more for palm grip and it'd be nice to know if the reason it feels funny is your grip. This detail seems to be missing from reviews.
I won this mouse in a contest and i’m rlly happy with it. I play valhalla with it, but also games like warzone or battlefield. It just suits my hand. The side buttons are nice and it’s a big step up from my old dell workspace mouse.
My hands are 19.5x10cm and i can palmgrip this mouse very easy. It sits nice in my hand and the grip feels good. No aiming problem at all just when i first got the mouse, because i had to lower my sens because of the low weight of the mouse.

Bought glorious model O thanks yo you and i have no regrets, its amazing
Been using this mouse for around 7 months. The shape is perfect. Only problem is the mouse1 and 2 can kind of bounce up if you swipe your finger against it while pressing. I fixed this with a tiny piece of double sided tape between the top and the base of m1 and 2. I have 2 copies and both have this problem. My hand size is 19.5 x 10. What makes the xtrfy my favorite is although it has an ergo style back, the front is amby so fingertip and claw work great. Also the top is low enough to easily make micro adjustments.
Going from a Deathadder (2013) to a Rival 310 when the middle mouse button broke, only to have the right grip on that come off after a few months and unfortunately shipping costs to Canada for a $6 replacement grips was ridiculous, and unfortunately with the Pandemic I can't travel across the border to pick them up at a relatives house If I chose to ship them there. I decided to order this based on the fact that the design and feel from what others are suggesting is similar to the Rival 310 which honestly so far is probably my favorite mouse. Albeit I haven't tried that many. I also have a Logitech G502 Lightspeed as a wireless mouse but that just feels way to heavy, so I stick to the Rival for shooters, and when I receive this mouse no doubt it will be my new go to for everyday use.
Did you like it? How was it compared to rival 310?
Will your model d review come out on public release or will it be earlier at all? Another great vid as always, thanks zy
It's interesting seeing so many divergent opinions about this mouse. All I can say is that I love my Xtrfy M4 Black and I bought it especially for the shape, which is an ergonomic one, by the way. Before this mouse I used an Tt eSeries Ventus Z, which is a different class of mouse, bigger, heavier, etc so switching to this mouse was a very big deal for me. I was debating between this one and Model O/O-, but I don't regret my decision so far after 2 weeks of using it. My hand size is medium (about 18.5cm / 9.7cm) and I mostly palm grip so it works great with the M4.
Zowie announced their new FK Divina series. Will you be making a review for those?
He was testing them on stream, so i assume so
Well that video timing could not have been better. Got pages open for the mm710 and m4, and honestly didnt expect to find a review for this one yet.
Thankyou for the review. I wouldn't like those curves either, compared to the DA and EC2.
Yeah I think DA curve might be the limit.
A RGN video to wake up too!!!! Gunna be a good day!
I have this mouse, didn't like it at all at first but the more I used it the more comfortable it got. Other mice I have/used include: Skoll, G403, G703, Rival 600, Fnatic Clutch2. I still prefer the Xtrfy M4 over the others. The only other mouse I love as much as the M4 is the G403/703. Both copies of the Skoll have creaking issues by the side buttons. If you try the M4, give it some time.
I have the retro one and I enjoy the shape more than my model O. I got it because it’s one of the few mice that I don’t click the side buttons by mistake.
what's ur hand size and grip style?
You are a true goat at quake
this might be the first time i ever watched a mouse review to the end. those 1v4s were just so awesome.
what is the game name?
Quake
Personally, I really enjoy the ergonomic shape over an ambidextrous. And seeing as there are light weight ones out now, I'm happy to purchase for my CS play. The G-Wolves has cable disconnect issues, so I'm having to return it. But I've already purchased this mouse and pre-ordered the new Model D from Glorious that's coming in Dec. So hopefully one of those will work for me. The ultimate mouse would be a wireless EC2 that's 80g or lower, but that's only a pipe dream right now for us ergonomic mice lovers I guess...
Closest comparison I think would be the roccat pure ultra, size and weight are similar.I like this one better because of placement of side buttons and the improved cord. My aim is noticeably better with this mouse as well.
I’ve had the m4 for about 2 weeks and so far I love it. I used to use the g502 but now the m4 is my go to mouse. My aim has significantly improved, like you said tho it won’t fit everyone’s hand. For me though it was perfect. Good review dude

As a palm and claw gripper this mouse is my main, ive tried a lot but i found it to be the perfect upgrade from the ec2b.
what is your hand size ?
This Xtrfy m4 mouse bring back Roccat Kone XTD flashbacks due to the shape, looks like a lightweight roccat Kone to me. I have large hands so it was recommended to me but damn I hated the Roccat Kone shape, the curves and grooves never fitted my hand. Plus it was a 120+ grams brick, switched to the SteelSeries Rival 600 and never looked back.
Really like the tune in the video, sadly not on your soundcloud
I really like my m4, but my pinky and ring finger keep slipping, I feel a gloss finish may have made it better (for me). I can aim with it quite well, just when lifting sometimes I have to readjust my fingers, which is not desirable.
i have 18x10 hand and this shape fit perfectly if you grip or place your thumb in the center similar to sensor positioning. if you are a gripper that likes to grip over the sensor you will not feel comfortable because of that curve on the left.
You’re my favorite mouse reviewer 😊
I got the glossy gray edition. I thought i buyed a black one but it was an exclusive edition instead. You can only get it at Elgiganten which is a store in Sweden
@Rocket Jump Ninja would you say M2 is similar to the Steel Series Rival 300? used a rival 300 so i cant get away from its shape n having a hard time finding newer mice anywhere near it shape.
I had the razer deathadder chroma before the i got the m4 and i think the shape is pretty much the same. Its an awesome mouse.
stopped your video at 3;31. I love how it's shaped because how light it is i can grip it however i want. I've gotten several of these to all of my computers already.
What keyboard do you use sir, your movements are so swift and well controlled
I've been using the Logitech G915 for years now, linear switch low profile, so probably that.
Zy you forgot to show the LOD! Love your vids, but wish you would consistently put that info in every vid. Even if a mouse shape is just "updated" with a new sensor I would stay it still a good idea to include it, as well as how the distance changes if there are options for that in the software. Thanks! :)
Under 1 DVD and no software.
This mouse is amazing for my big fat mitts. Though I can see you are holding it across/diagonally which is funny as this is usually how I hold smaller safer mice like the Viper.
He seems to hold every mouse that way. I can see how holding it like that would feel pretty semi-optimal on the M4
Hey, I know this is a one year old comment but, what do you mean with “mits” I searched it up and it said “mits means fat pussy/vagina in slang”. Im quite concerned that you mean you insert your gaming mouse inside your vaginal area which, isn’t optimal to say the least.

hey Zy, love your work on mice and providing us with all the useful insight :) can I ask why on your website the grip width measurements are different from what the official company websites state? thanks a lot !
I came up with grip width measurement to help give people a way to know if a mouse would suit them. It's not an official measurement the companies use. It's unique to this channel, but others are starting to adopt it too.

what is your hand size ?
I bought it for test and so far the main downside of the shape is actually same height of the right button as the left button. If they would go full asymmetrical put the right button down a step to keep aligned with the overall slope / curvature, it would feel better. Gonna go with Steelseries Prime most likely. Feels slightly better than EC series by Zowie edit- anchored, angled, hybrid palm, relaxed, behind tips, separated. :)
"If they would go full asymmetrical put the right button down a step to keep aligned with the overall slope / curvature, it would feel better" - deathadder mini has the aggressive slope downward on the right and i can't grip that well enough. M4 is steadier
Could be similar to the deathadder, although a bit short. Which I can see in your palm grip hand size guide as well ( 3:55)

I got mine I love the shape a lot ! my hand is very relaxed with it. only problem is creeking and the stock feet are TERRIBLE and scratchy. I will be getting corepadz
I own an M4. My hands are large, around 20 cm (wrist line to top of middle finger) x 8 cm (across the knuckles), and the M4 is my end game mouse. I've used many of the mice with top reviews the last 10 years (logitechs, rivals, zowies, finalmouse etc.) and the M4 shape beats them all for me. I can grip it during long fps sessions without any strain in my hand, with complete control and comfort. The shape being perfect for my taste, combined with every other feature and construction aspect checking all my boxes, It has performed perfectly since day 1.
Putting a heart on this so people know there are genuinely people out there who love the shape. It's just not for me.
@@RocketJumpNinja Cool. Even though you get this point across in the video, I wanted to underline that it's a matter of personal fit and taste. You describe it as an unsafe shape, and I agree, it's probably not comfortable if your hands aren't of the size to grip it as intended. Although if you're lucky enough that it fits your hand dimensions, I believe it's a terrific mouse for many people.
Zy, if it isn't too much work for you, could you try to talk about how the mouse clicks are compared to Omrons? I don't know if you remember my comment but I personally can only play with them, so it is something I have to know in advance before buying a mouse. Would greatly appreciate it.
Nice review! And ohhh, wanted to buy this mouse, but they don't ship to Brazil...sad
Bought one, opened it to change paracord. Overall a pretty good mouse. Anyone wanna see the pictures capturing the inside of this mouse can check my Twitter since YouTune doesn't allow pictures in comment. About the creaky sound when he pressed the sides of this mouse, mine doesn't do the same, so it's random between each M4. Regarding the shape of M4, the closest one that I can think of is Rival 310, just that Rival 310 is a little bit bigger than M4.
My hand is 20x11 and I've always like the old rival mice, though all three I owned broke so I will never buy steelseries again. Hence I am looking at this mouse, hopefully it will fit my hands.
I watch alo't of Mouse ASMR and let me tell you what, Those clicks, Are TOP quality!
Bruh finally something big for us big handed palm grippers
For me, this is the best mouse of all times. I have a claw grip and i test a lot of mice like viper 8k, logitech g703, 305 aerox 3 lancehead g pro x and this is the best
I would love if you released more raw gameplay with the mouse cam
