Thanks for the kind words and review, and for talking about the adjustment period! To elaborate ... I designed this mouse based on a lot of the best features from other mice that I thought helped aim (and comfort to a degree, but mainly aim). After testing over 150 mice, my hand has adapted to so many that I'm not really bothered by many shapes, I can usually find a grip and play well. So this gives me a bit of an "unbiased" mindset, in the sense I'm not locked into using one shape, I can use pretty much all of them. This meant I was free to just go with whatever features that could help aim on my own design. It took me 3 weeks to adjust to the Razer Diamondback before my hand stopped hurting, then it became one of my best mice for aim at the time. So that's the period I recommend using a new mouse for, 3 weeks. I understand if you need to return mice because you can't afford to keep them that long, but if you can, stick with the mice (especially the top recommendations) for at least 3 weeks. That goes for the MZ1 and all other mice we recommend too, Razer, Logitech, Zowie, etc. 3 weeks. That's the mark that I've found. Hope it helps! And amazing footage as always, you're the master, Dm!
you're the most biased for example on your review of the cooler master mm720. You keep mentioning competitive shape and all those sort crap just to please the demographic and most of the time ur reviews are full of bs
@@eshay000 one of you again. Excelent. Just SU!
@@connostyper am I wrong? He's always saying "competitive shape" forcing the industry to go with what he says. This leads to no innovation or preferences because people will be forced to agree to his "competitive shape" agenda.
@@eshay000 he has no say of what the industry is doing or going. He has an opinion and he created a career around it. For some it work for others it doesn't.
Thank you for picking a shape that suits palm grip! There are so few options for this out there that let the hand rest like this.
If they release a wireless version, man, day one buy.
with the fact that 3370 is already a thing, this is totally possible.
Yup it needs wireless
I think Zy said he's working on it
Me too
almost a year later you got your wish! It'll be out in June
Great to hear you like this MZ1 Dimitri. It's definitely an acquired taste but for me, it's my favourite mouse ever. I became a bit obsessed with ultralight mouse of lockdown and ended up trying all the usual suspects. The MZ1 came out and blew them all away. It has legitimately made my aim better and won't be getting swapped out any time soon.
Continue .....the great work 🔥🔥
Love this mouse, give it a chance, learning curve is certainly there and it took me more time to adjust because I was palm grip on glorious model o prior. Have not looked back, once you get there it's insanely comfortable and stupid responsive. Would highly recommend pairing with the 'zy's damage' mousepad for full effect.
editing is on point
I've basically come to the same conclusion about mine. It's great when I whip it out for shooters, but definitely a 3/5 for daily driving. And unfortunately my fingers are longer so my pinky drags no matter what unless I twist it up like I have arthritis. But I guess this is similar to why I have a track car and the one I drive to work...
I love that you don't need to download a junk program to customize it.
Yeah; I adore my Orochi V2 but Razer Synapse is still 100% Grade A garbage 🗑
@@Girvo747 my computer can't even install it after reinstalling windows 10 lmfao.
mouse took a while for me to get used to coming from a cooler master mm710 and honestly really enjoyed it the touch points being solid where you touch the mouse was a really welcome edition. love the way it looks in white with my setup and I've had zero issues. I play mostly league and some fps games and it's been great for both and worked well with the fingertip grip style I already had.
I just got this mouse myself today and so far I like it! Definitely feel like it will take at least several days to get used to, but it's already working great for me. I've also modded it from the moment I got it, as the stock MZ1 is wayyy too heavy for it's small size, it feels way too dense. Can't really check the weight rn, but it should be around 50g now.
Thank you for adding the Canadian price too! Can't tell you how much I use USD to CAD
Tried it loved it. Impressive quality, I am getting one!
Nice!
@@RocketJumpNinja pls tell me there is a wireless one coming, i dont know why i need one, but i need one
Would love to try this mouse tho. On the other hand, i love the static shots of the mouse in this video, damn that looks so good, gotta agree, you do know how to use a camera lol.
"Purchased the Xtrfy MZ1 Zy's Rail and loved almost all of it Apart, from the Kailh GM 8.0 Switches. "As I ended up with pain in my left finger due to the force required to click. So hopefully, the next iteration will allow for changeable switches and adjustable actuation force. "This would be the perfect mouse for me as I prefer the lightest double-tap. "Especially when playing FPS games because it can become very fatiguing for my fingers. Other than that, I liked the mouse's overall design "as with the mesmerising RGB and solid sensor performance. I would also personally love to see an MMO mouse with the same features I mentioned integrated and Ultra lightweight with nine evenly spaced buttons on the side.
jw for mouse modding reasons. whats least pressure switches that're also on par with top switches for low latency etc? I have same problem with index finger
@@ronniemillsap Not too sure about latency but, regarding my favourite Switches, I'm pretty comfortable using TTC Golden Micro Dustproof ones as they're light to press while gaming for long sessions. Thankfully I ended up settling with a HyperX Pulsefire Haste. 'As it has a great lightweight design at around 59 Grams and a reliable sensor along with the TTC Golden Micro Dustproof switches I mentioned above. 'But recently, I also have been big into Trackball mice as I have been using the Logitech MX Ergo Wireless for FPS games with surprisingly accurate results and, the switches are also very light to press. 'Not forgetting using a trackball mouse doesn't require the tiresome movement of a traditional mouse and can also be angled to a more comfortable position which reduces Carpal tunnel syndrome.
@@Amaronduk your answer was awesome and through, thanks! 'using a trackball mouse doesn't require the tiresome movement of a traditional mouse and can also be angled to a more comfortable position which reduces Carpal tunnel syndrome' and this was the icing on the cake for me. Might have to try that for protecting wrist someday.
@@ronniemillsap Glad to help.
It's different and I like it, maybe I'll buy one in the near future.
Very fair review 👏. I use the MZ1 and love it for gaming but can't use it for productivity. Great shape but the mouse wheel & led lighting leave a lot to be desired. On the plus side, in the words of a legend, when I hold this mouse it automatically points to someone's head!
Funnily enough I've been using it for productivity too, even video editing.
@@RocketJumpNinja didn't expect a reply from The Rocket Jump Ninja! I wish you all the success in the world. Routing for you all the way! While I have your attention - please do address the very minor criticism- mouse wheel and led lighting. Otherwise, you have struck gold!
Mouse wheel - just tension steps more? I really like the encoder, that's all I would change (already asked Xtrfy). And LED lighting ... I'm hoping it'll sell well enough to warrant a pro version at some stage, so we'll see. Thanks for the kind words, same to you!
I was stoked to hear about this mouse when Zai announced it and I got it as a present for my birthday to replace my Model O-. I've always believed in Zai's reviews, regarding mice. When I got to game on it there's an unexplainable feeling when tracking, I main Apex Legends, and I've had really good games with it so far. My damage, kills and tracking has been a lot more consistent in Apex and Kovaaks. I'm not sure if the receded back has something to do with it but tracking has been a breeze. All in all, I'm really happy with this, so thanks a bunch Zai and Xtrfy! Poggers!
So happy to see comments like these, thanks!
@@RocketJumpNinja thanks as well! You're a legend and I can't wait to see your next collab with Xtrfy. :)
The creak on the right side can be fixed if you pull the shell apart and then squeeze the right side side while clicking it back together. I dont know how to feel, in some situations I feel I have more control with this mouse, unholy control with micro adjustments. But have kinda settled on the orochi v2 since I am more nimble with it.
Not to sound like a cheapskate, but it's a tough sell for me at that price. The fact that it has any "quirks" at $80 would make me question why I'd choose it over some of the (extremely strong) competition at similar or vastly reduced prices.
I agree, you can get awesome wireless mice for the price like the Orochi V2 if you have smaller hands or the Model O Wireless if you have larger hands, or even the upcoming Model D Wireless if you prefer ergonomic mice
The point was to support rjn tho, it was never intended for value.
@@Wanted54321 since rjn have such a broad range.of audience, I feel like he should've made a mouse shape that's more forgiving to many handshakes and different grip styles rather than make a mouse that's targeted to a small group of audience that both fingertip grips and have a similar hand shape/size as his hand
@@liiou4445 his intention was to make a mouse thats best for himself tho, again it was never intended to please his audience if you know what I mean.
@@liiou4445 So he should've just made a mouse that's pretty much exactly the same as every other one, and don't really innovate or do anything new? lmao
Finally, been waiting for this.
Yeah a review of someone with no competitive background and lack of "good" reference "gaming" mice is always helpful. If thats how you form your opinion i hope you will never be able to vote.
@@Jakob3xD Damn why are you so salty lmfao
@@Jakob3xD Look at mr.competitive here complaining about mouse reviews, its good to have more opinions about something that is birthday money to a lot of people.
Damn. Some nice features to that mouse for sure, shame I'll probably never get them in a mouse with my preferred grip/layout if they got a patent on stuff like "onboard drivers" somehow. (Symmetrical palm grip with buttons on both sides - basically the SteelSeries Sensei shape).
bought an orochi to replace my 305 but i found i didnt like that shape. sold the orochi for a mz1 just to try the shape and i absolutely love it. aim feels super crispy too
I was wondering for a review after some time of use
i'm sold. getting one right now!
Got this mice day 1, and it really makes me want to play more and improve, instead of just being happy with what I got. The MZ1 becomes a platform for improvement of skills. And although yes, every mouse is that (ofc), this made it easier and more fun somehow
@@h3nry_t122 I come from the G305 and the MZ1 improved my tracking by a lot.
@@h3nry_t122 very probably so. Can't say I've had as fun learning and developing with other mice, and having daily driven it like Dimitri has, I can really agree with most of what he says. It takes a little while to get used to a very different kind of shape, but after, it just feels fun. You may call it placebo, I'll call it fun lmao
@@h3nry_t122 depends on your grip, the MZ1 is much more comfortable to hold than the G305 for 18x9 ftip grip.
@@h3nry_t122 as mentioned, it really depends on grip. I used to have a g102 (which is wired g304 basically) and switched to viper mini + grip tapes. Oh boy it feels so good. But I cannot generalize it to everyone since not everyone having the same hands as mine. My point is, just play with whatever you're comfortable with.
I think the shape allows you to move it around more freely
I've replaced all my Steelseries, Logitech, and Glorious mice with XTRFY mice and haven't looked back. Glorious was a step in the right direction(learning that we've been overpaying for mice for far too long) but I had an O and a D start to fall apart within the first year so I decided to look elsewhere. With XTRFY I paid a terrific price for stellar performance and they great feel. I don't have an MZ1 in my collection yet but maybe someday.
Please make a video on your setups
When is the G Pro Superlight review coming?
Just ordered mine thanks to this review (spending responsible of course) Switching from FK2 and ducky feather, let’s see how it goes.
it's a great mouse!
Can't help but seeing you have a decent HDR monitor standing in the background. Any chance to see HDR videos on the future?
"Discomfort from holding holes." Dmitry 2021
Your profile pic just adds to that comment lol
Polling rate has a dramatic effect on older games. Lower polling rate increases my accuracy big time on quake and xonotic, but causes a less than higher rate of visual smoothness.
I'm considering getting one
Dunno how you’d solve this one, but the Orochi V2 weight you listed is with an AA battery - if one is comparing weight as a spec (for the consumer that wants light weight as a factor), I’d think it’s weight with the AAA would be better, no? That’s 65g, much closer to this Xtrfy than it appears in your graphic
mz1 or mm720 for big hands Fingertip grip? Is the mz1 too small like the orochi was for me?
I'm looking for a replacement of my old MM520. The 720 doesnt looks like the perfect shape so I could give this (wireless version with lower hump) a try.
MZ1 definitely took a while for me to get used to. took me two weeks to get really dialed in. But once i got used to it, it is as precise as it can get. However, i do wish the scroll wheel was a bit lighter. i find it a bit difficult to double click (pinging in Apex) Overall, a great mouse!
Hey, just my opinion, but clicking mmb to ping in Apex throws off my grip and subsequently aim. I put it back on the keyboard.
@@labasjonai what keybind do you use for that?
@@xl_cr I set it on F, for myself but the keyboard is your oyster!
Is it good for a bigger hand size?
@@ajaypartapsinghsekhon8145 I don't think so bc it is on the smaller side
Could we get a steelseries prime (wireless) review?
I've been using the Roccat Kone Pure Ultra, and now the Kone Pro, and love it. I tried the Razer Viper, but can't get used to the shape, and the side buttons are very annoying, extra so on the right side (I'm right handed), and I tried it for a couple of months, while going back to the Kone Pure Ultra, it felt like home again right away. I will get this one, cause I have to give it a try being Zy's design. Btw, have you tried the scroll wheel on the Roccat Kone Pure Ultra?
Roccat Kone Pure had the best wheel and as far as I know this uses the same encoder, I've been a fan of these for a long time. That said, I think they need a bit more tension on the steps to match the Kone Pure's.
@@RocketJumpNinja I really like the Kone Pure Ultra's wheel. The Kone Pro's wheel is ok, but not on par I think.
Would you recommend this for claw grip? Small hands
My cats have chewed through so many mouse wires I had to go wireless. Would definitely consider this one if it offers a wireless version.
In description it says G305 is your second main after mm720, but in video you use Orochi V2? Or am i missing something?
Just got this for Christmas. I love the comfort groves. I love the clicks and cable. However my pinky finger feels like it just lays on the side but offers me no control. I feel like I'm aiming with just my thumb and ring finger. I much rather prefer the m42 because it has a wider back and my pinky gets locked in for perfect control. The m42 has bad switches and a bad cable. I wish I can have a m42 with the comfort groves, mz1 cable and mz1 clicks. Also have the m42 with no holes on side would be great to
I just resold a FInalmouse Starlight 12 because I liked the Orochi V2 so much more. Zy also poopoo'd on the Orochi due to it's shape, which fit me great due to my wider hands, so I figure the MZ1 is not going to be up my alley.
This is why I don’t trust a negative mouse review if it’s based on shape. I have 12 cm wide hands and the g303 and orochi are both extremely comfortable to me
I've been using it for 2 months too, it's an endgame fps mice. I can land shots that I never had before. and I also ditched my steelseries aerox 3 wireless for this wired MZ1. the cable are not in the way, so I prefer MZ1 shape compared to wireless. shoutout to Zy Rocket Jump Ninja for designed this masterpiece
I was considering buying this mouse but then I decided to get the Orochi V2 instead because I really wanted a wireless mouse
As someone with small hands and fingertip grip, I honestly feel like this mouse could be what I'm looking for. I use the viper mini rn, but the grooves are so far in the front, that when I play my fingers aren't in any groove, and can sorta move around annoyingly. I also can't move my hand forward even slightly, because I instantly feel the viper mini's hump in my palm. Don't think it's worth trying out though. Honestly just hope we get these smaller mice wireless eventually as recently I've been annoyed with them.
small hands? you never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
I liked my first XTRFY MZ1 so much I bought a second one for my secondary PC.
weird
@@ee1yd What's so weird about that. It would be a pain in the ass to constantly move the other mouse back and forth.
I think if you fingertip grip, it is very much an endgame worth mouse for you. I claw grip and it’s a bit uncomfortable, I’ll be sticking with my Ultralight 2.
I got the mouse about a month ago and used it for a day or two and couldn’t get comfy, just pulled it back out and going to give it some more time to get used to and see if it can become my main. My grip is just like Zy’s but my hands are on the smaller side.
Nice, 3 weeks is the time I set ... if your hand still hurts after that, then yeah stop. And if the pain gets too bad, also stop. I fought through the pain for a while using the Diamondback, 3 weeks later it came good for me.
awesome vid
I like 1k dpi and remappable thumb buttons, so no optional software is disappointing.
Interestingly enough, I am about to go through 7 of Zy's reviews but wanted to watch a review on his own mouse to maybe get an idea of where he is coming from. Personally a bit dissatisfied with mouse reviews though since almost all are for gamers and very little is talked about for office use. Stopped playing games, but the average "office mouse" doesn't do it's job. Missing my MX518. Already tested 5 mice but not satisfied yet. Definitely preferring a wider mouse myself.
Mine started random clicking and switching my weapons after about a month, liked it and then I threw it against the wall.
got one on day 1 but im unsure if its the one! i might try g pro superlight.
The g pro x will feel incredibly large and high profile in comparison. Just to let you know. It's a great mouse nonetheless. I had plenty of mice over the past months and my top 5 are :mz1, hyperx pulsfire haste, np01-s, mm720, burst pro. In that order for some reference. Maybe it will help you decide.
@@option_n yeah my only concern and the reason iv delayed getting the g pro is due to size. Past 2 years I have used viper mini, model o- , g203, m42 and mz1.
how does this compare to hyper x haste
what is the aim trainer seen at 8:50?
hm did not get the repacement set included. i just find out watching this :) Ty for the vid. i love the fast click rate on xtrfy mz1 now u can get it wireless also. I also have many other mice`s one of them is the new Razor viper v2 , each model differ from mice to mice on the click and other youtubers also show that the shape is not the same on all v2 units, just a bad QOS build from china to FAST , and my V2 :i cant tap my shoot fast enogh in some games and the shape its a bit off for me. However the sensor and the glide is awsome and its works fine in games like Quake, awsome (it`s not the same press functions in this two games) just to add, this is the first optical buttons, its not mechanical like mz1. something to think of, now in Valorant the Razor V2 its a BIG NO GO for me, i cant use many guns or Gardian rifle, cuz v2 will mess me up keep my constisten rythm of burst sries unstable and so on, the same for every time i shot its random and this is nothing i have ever encounter before with a mice, also sometimes it feels like theV2 buttons dont jump up -back fast enogh this is random and , but often. and maybe the problem part of the all.
What was the map he played in the aim trainer, and was it Kovaak 2.0?
its from aim labs and the map is gridshot ultimate

What’s the mouse at 7:31 ?
best FPS mouse hands down! perfect shape
Ngl I'd rather use a shape I'm comfortable with than something that "on paper" "should" be "better" for competitive gaming. I tried a few "competitively shaped" ambi mice, but never played as well as I do with my Pwnage UC clone now. Still wanna try this mouse out to see if it's actually viable, but I'm poor.
is this good for meduim size hands using a hybrid claw grip/wrist aim?
Yes
Used this mouse for 2 months and can honestly say that the it's a great quality mouse and my aim with it is pretty damn nuts, however it makes my hand hurt, I use a pretty passive claw grip and the back hump hurts my palm. And the holes on the right side is uncomfortable. The m1 and m2 are 10/10 and the cable is the best I've used. If u play games for like 1 hour a day ull be fine but for long sessions this mouse is terrible IMO, but then again if you use fingertip u will be fine I believe.
Wish your sponsor, Corsair, would actually ship their products. Been waiting for Virtuoso XT since it launched several months ago, for them to ship product to their Canadian retailers, but no products have been shipped to Canada, even though the US retailers received stock. Arrrrgh.
I've wanted this for awhile but I just don't think it's meant for me personally. I've always enjoyed the G502, I absolutely love the 10 programmable buttons (many being a override). I'm a firm believer in the macro keys, 2 just wouldn't cut it for me in most games. I've gotten to the point where it's muscle memory for me, without the at least 3 I would need to stop and search my keyboard which I've just not done in 8 years. I have a lot of respect for the man, love his videos, he's always the first person I go to but the lack of macro buttons is the biggest deal killer for me even 1 more would have been great but ideally 5 in total would have been perfect for basically everything I play (would have accepted macros as scroll wheel tilts as well). 3 macro keys though would have been enough for me to justify the purchase, but still wished for more, I could have/would have made it work. I'm not saying i refuse to buy because not a third, I just can't compromise that much when ideally I would love 3 more. It's the main reason why I've kept to the G502, nothing really fills it's spot for me, and I have looked just 2 macro keys seems to be the standard, standard doesn't fit everyone's use case thought, and regardless of what game I'm playing I have 0 problems filling/using at least 3 of the G502's macro keys. I believe the mouse is good, I respect the man, I would at least like to try it, but I don't believe in returning non faulty items, I just feel pretty confident it wouldn't work for me, and I would go back to my G502 like I have since in built my first PC, that mouse spoiled me.
Have u tried hyperx Raid? I found it better in feel, weight, button placement & sensor. My hands 19/10.
yeah the middel button is very sticky at the bottom
A lot more peripherals should be driverless like this. Hate when u gotta download a million different junk programs especially when you mix and match brands.

I LOVE MINE
I think Zy addressed the scroll wheel, stating that its like that since its not used in gaming, to my knowledge literally every single fps i have played the scroll wheel is used to switch weapons
Seems like quake doesn't use scroll wheel XD
I just like these wheels. They could probably tension the steps a bit more but other than that, feels good. But yeah I rarely use scroll in game. I have all my weapons bound to keys, much faster switching.
why would you use 700 dpi x)
just bought one, I am getting wireless version.
i have an xtrfy mouse, I like the build quality but it is too narrow. I get cramps using it so its sleeping in my room somewhere. I got used to Zowie FKs so its close but too narrow. Ill have to look at the dimensions before I buy this.
If the width is causing an issue, yeah this one will most likely do the same, it's thinner than all the other Xtrfy mice.
@@RocketJumpNinja Hello, Zy! I've tried your mouse for almost two weeks and I really wanted to like it, but couldn't figure out the shape. When I'd put my fingers into the designated spaces, my pinky wouldn't be able to even touch the mouse, unless I rotated the mouse counterclockwise for over 30°. Otherwise my fingers would move to sit right on the holes past the finger spots. I still wonder if I was holding it wrong, or could the mouse be too narrow for a 20 by maybe 10.5 hand? If you could advise, I'd really appreciate it.
Oh man... this mouse is heaven sent for me. I've only ever found palm grip comfortable but absolutely no brands cater to that anymore in their leading designs. They've become as obscure as southpaw mice. My last was a 2011 Razer Mamba and it has not aged well (the revisions lost that finger groove and grew a hump, which I hate). Looking forward to buying this - especially with that programable DPI switch. It would be nice if the cable were detachable though, just to make maintenance easier.
Check out VAXEE Outset AX or their other models. Vaxee makes really good shapes.
thiss mouse is small but doesnt feel that small in the hands its weird. i love it

I think the shape of almost any mouse is just about getting used to it. When I changed my mouse shape I always had the feeling that my old mouse had better shape. But now I realize you just have to give it time. For me at least 2 weeks of getting used to the new shape. Then suddenly you try your old mouse again a this time this one will feel awkward again.
Got one and first apex match with it I pulled my first 4.5k damage game...
For real? Epic
@@RocketJumpNinja 100%. I was wondering; However, if this mouse had parallels with minimalist footwear theory? Your mouse removes the hump (Like the heel toe drop in shoes) inhibiting motion on most mice, leaving your hand with a void that it's free to move in. I think this is what causes the long break in period.. your hand has to strengthen for it.
It has some of the ideas from a G303 imho
Picked one up, gave it a shot, but I have very "square" hands, and MZ1 gave me hand cramps, so I sent it back. I can definitely see all the good in the mouse, but it's definitely not the mouse for me.
After watching the csgo gameplay I could tell the footage didn’t speak for itself lol (no offense). I’m already completely in love with my Xtrfy M4, so I’ll just wait and see if many pro players adopt this mouse.
you gonna wait along moment so ..... the pro players in csgo don't gamble on shape of their mice... it's not a safe shape.
