My Mouse Reviews Explained feat. HyperX Pulsefire Core

This is a review of the HyperX Pulsefire Core with each part of my reviews explained. Not a full explanation but just enough to address what people have been concerned with lately.
Basically I'm trying to find the best mice for FPS. There are multiple factors to mice and there is no such thing as perfect. So even if one has click latency, a bad cable or tight buttons, I might still use it because of the shape and weight. I try to keep everything in mind and base recommendations on people's individual needs. So find the right one for you! I have no bias toward any company.
As for the Pulsefire Core... for me, this is their best so far, because the dimensions and weight suit me. Really happy to see improvements on all their mice. However, while this is meant to be cheaper, the build quality isn't really exusable. Hopefully it's just this copy.
Mouse Info:
3327 optical sensor, lift off distance is just under 1 DVD on cloth and about 1 DVD on hard pad. Cable is standard 1.8 metres. Plastic all over (textured sides, smooth on top), under 95 grams and a great shape. Definitely worth a look, but I still prefer others like the Zowie S2 (my #1, obviously).
Update: Apparently it does have on board memory but the software is set up in a weird way. Usually I'd do a proper correction but the way they set it up doesn't make sense to me. Drag drop? What? How about a button that says "Save to on board memory", keep it really simple. Or how about whatever changes we make, once we hit apply, it does it automatically?

  • Hey, sorry about the voice/audio and stuff, did my best to get it at a decent level. I was trying to fix some saliva clicks and choked on some seasoning. Yup, still human, still trip over my own feet, but at least I can play Quake pretty well. Hope this explains some of the problems people had with my reviews anyway! And yeah this is why I don't explain everything in mouse reviews... they become too long and take way longer to make (this took about twice as long as a normal review). Back to normal from here on!

  • hey man just letting you know that your explanations helped alot on how i choose mice now. i didnt know that shape and sizes affect aiming and comfort. i was just content and was just soldiering through to my quite bad mouse that isn't really for my hand because of how small it is (5 inches x 2 inches) and i kept getting some pain and numbness when i play games like osu who is very flick extensive and alot of directional changes. honestly im quite surprised myself that i can even play properly on it (and like you said the human body will adapt to it anyway) luckily Core is pretty cheap in my country and im happy to get it the next time around hopefully ill have significant better experience

Quick question if you don't mind, I recently picked up the Roccat Kone Pure Owl Eye. I love it, it's lightweight, amazing build quality everything feels right. The issue I have is, when aiming it feels perfect, but the small adjustments in aim are what I am having issues with, missing a lot of small detail shots. My hand's are 19.3 by 11.6. I do a Palm/Fingertip Hybrid grip I guess you could say. Should I switch to a larger mouse is that the issue? Thanks RJN

  • Since you have reviewed mouse bungees as well, could you consider reviewing (custom) paracord mouse cables, which don't contain the stiff copper shielding the stock cables have. Some people claim that those feel as good as wireless mice for that reason. If that's true, more people need to know about those.

I will pay full retail price with tax, but as a 13 year old I can’t pay the outrageous prices for resell. Thank you for your mice wisdom and can’t wait for your next review/vid! • Please do the Corsair m65 rgb Elite now. Used to be a m65(old one) user and it got torn out after 3 years or so, decided to get the new one with the optical sensor but it scatched my mousepad so even though I loved the shape I decided to get a deathadder elite. But now when I see that the new m65 is about the same weight as the deathadder, I'm tempted to buy it. Would be great to see your opinion first though since I watched alot of videos before deciding to get the deathadder.

It's only 40 bucks, has 3360 sensor, and it looks to be about the same size as the Rival 110 and not much bigger than the G Pro. Has an interesting shape, and the only off I can see about it is the fact it doesn't have comfort grooves. You should check it out, maybe you'd like it, plus that way I could see if I'd like it since we have similar hand sizes.

In the future we might have mice that resembles a handle/broomstick where your fingers grip inside while the rest of the body stretches around it, more or less like a saber or a motorcycles whereas the body of the mouse would be the hand protection.

After I first started watching your videos I was trying out narrow and small mice left and right and wonder why I can't find my sweetspot in aiming. Now I have found them and they are the Deathadder and the EC1-A, two of the widest mice available. And I believe I will aim even better if both of them are around 1mm wider. My hands are 19*11, certainly not monstrous by any means.

Between the plastic cover and the actual switch beneath, there seems to be like a half millimeter of space. That drives me insane hearing it! It feels unresponsive, too. It's the same thing with my Corsair M65 RGB Elite White. Is there an affordable mouse out there, you would recommend? Like 30 €. I just want a solid mouse looking as slick as the Asus Gladius and the HyperX Pulsfire - with solid buttons. Not for gaming, just for clicking icons and scrolling.

  • I love Your reviews for the technical product overview. Very informative and clearly presented. My only gripe would be this - You should clearly say what specific grip You do use in some videos. You use 1-2-2 and You review mice based on that. I've bought G603 once but only then noticed how terrible it is for my fingertip 1-3-1 grip(I always gamed with 3 fingers on top for easy buttons and wheel access). I returned it no problem but now I know that all Your mice reviews are unfortunately mostly useless to me since You barely, if ever experiment with different grips. This is not a problem with Your reviews. These are amazing and this is just the grip You use. I still think the mx518/g400 shape is the best ever for 1-3-1 fingertip. Niexus looks like it does not have that lip on the right side to support little finger pick up

  • I have a question about a Mouse idea Rocket Jump Ninja. Do you think companies should start offering custom gaming mice to the measurements of your hand and choose from different types of designs.

    • Yeah, left button on mine rattles as well. Hasn't caused any noticeable issues yet, but it is weird. (bought in the EU) Otherwise it's an excellent mouse. I don't know what exactly makes the difference, but I feel like I have way more control with this as opposed to the EC2B I used before, especially when it comes to recoil control. Might be just because it's symmetrical. Only thing I'd change about the design is lift the side buttons up a bit higher and/or make them a little bit smaller: as it is now, it's too easy to accidentally hit button 4 if your grip isn't perfect.

    • @@BackwardsPancake most likely the way it fits your grip. Might be worth looking into the zowie za series if this shape works well with you

    • @Christopher DeLaCruz I actually used a ZA13 for a while before, and I dug it out again to compare now that you mentioned it. The shape is very slightly narrower, and very slightly taller at the top of the hump. Still comfortable, but the Pulsefire feels just a little bit better. It also has that same issue where unless the grip is exactly right, you run the risk of hitting button 4 by accident, but it's easier to "miss" the grip because the hump forces the hand up a bit more, meaning the thumb falls on the side at a steeper angle, which means more of it overlaps that button. Having programmable extra buttons on the Pulsefire is also great, worth the sacrifice in weight in my personal opinion. I definitely prefer the stiffer scroll wheel on the ZA though.

  • With a 20cm hand and a palm/claw grip and that I always had steelseries sensei raw do you think the G305 is great or should I stick to a sensei shape like the DM1 FPS pro. I would love to have a wireless mouse but I m not sure if the seize is right for me

  • RJP, cant u pls include the rounding on 8 track mouse movement? I did this with my g403 in the middle of mousepad, 10 times doing "8 track" n my mouse ended in the right side of the mousepad. I really wanna know if there is super accurate mouse.

  • May be you could try laser mouse over bright and White ceramic, like razer lancehead that performs as a sniper at 8200(native) cpi 1000hz with the minimal lift off. Im trying to find a aluminium mirror with high reflectance. I have a g900 and a lancehead do you want a comparison?
