This week we are busy with organising our D7 visas, and Tara cooks her first banana bread with Crusoe, how cute is that! John travels back in time remembering old visas he has needed to acquire, telling some wonderful stories, and we as a family split up for the first time since Crusoe was born, a very strange feeling.

    • I’m late was on a flight this morning! John your Visa stories were incredible! Wow! Tara, my eyes filled with tears watching you bake w/Crusoe. When I was pregnant with our son I remember baking brownies with our daughter, now 27 and expecting our first grandson. What lovely memories. Pray Visa comes through and new baby is healthy.   • I traveled the world with my Danny and we worked 24/7 together for 44 years of our lives. He passed away 4 1/2 years ago. I love to watch your story because of your travels but also because of the deep love and respect you have for each other. I have no regrets about the life we lived together and if faced with the same decisions of being together 24/7 I would not change a thing. We had a vision for our marriage when we first talked of what our lives would look like and many times in our marriage we would talk about if we were on the same path we had started. It was a full and very happy life. We raised two boys and now they have wonderful families. Keep talking, laughing, exploring and thinking big and also, be brave. Can't wait to meet Crusoe's sibling.   • You are where you need to be pre baby birth. Close to family, friends and your healthcare. Thanks John for explaining the visa process, discussing your history of travels and learning about Crusoes name. Goodness, it’s not easy retaining a visa. I’ll stay put in south central Arkansas lol.   • I am originally from Belgium but living in Norway, and I also travelled back to Belgium to have my daughter. I had all the checkups in Norway up until I was 7,5 month pregnant and was very happy with the health system here. I got back when my daughter was 14 months and am still very happy with the care and follow-up we both have received here ever since. I just wanted my family around at he end of my pregnancy, and the months after my daughter was born. Completely understanding this, even when there's two of you! Good luck the coming week(s)! I look forward to seeing the new baby :)

  • When I was growing up and mum was doing the baking, I always had to lick the batter off the spoon & mixer .... I could feel my mouth salivating for some of your raw batter lol lol. It's soooo awesome exploring the world through Crusoe's eye. Everything is delightful, exciting & just 'wow'. Prayers for a swift and safe delivery for you. And then there were 4!!!

  • I so love your content this week - Crusoe getting busy with his hands (and mouth) in the kitchen with Tara while John is out working on their Portuguese visa. But what made me so excited are having a look at the graves of Daniel Defoe and William Blake, which reminded me a lot about the required readings we have had in high school English literature.

  • Crusoe is so cute!!! There is nothing wrong with going to you original living area for having a baby!! Its trusting what you know and the help of family. Damn John you have been thru quite a lot!   • So nice to see you again! Loving to see you cooking with your little man! Like I mentioned before, raising 4 boys, I let them help me cook just about as soon as they could grasp their little fingers around a mixing spoon! If course there's always a little bit, (or a lotta bit) more clean up, but now all of our sons are fabulous cooks! Most of them have even done catering for large groups! I believe when the children are welcomed to join in preparing the food there are far less picky eaters that refuse to eat certain foods. But for that, it must start young and all foods looked at as yummy and exciting! You'll have an extra bonus raising so much in your orchards ans gardens, and when the children get to eat what they raised and picked there's such a wonderful sense of accomplishment! Well done, Mama, and I will pray for the safe arrival of the new one!

  • The comfort and support at this time of family, is essential. Very much looking forward to the news of baby number 2 and John getting his visa. It is sad that we have to get visas to travel. It is such an awesome feeling learning how others live and how people can have so little and be so happy. A lesson for all of us!
