We regularly go from the Netherlands where i live to the Belgium Ardennes where beavers are living in the wild ( river Ourthe) . We did not see them, but we saw the trees they gnawed. Engineers indeed.

Wow ! I love those white cattle and to find out they are the oldest English cattle , I used to take my son as a young boy to Easton Farm Park who only kept old breed chickens cockerels (beautiful colourings) old cows , goats , sheep pigs , rabbits , ducks, you name it they had them . Also a working forge a play area for children with old tractors and army climbing rope tent , a field for campers to spend a few days or a week. This was a regular trip for us as we all loved it there cannot praise it enough , I just hope it has not deteriorated in care . Crusoe never fails to put a smile on my face when he made sure he hung onto them two apples bless him, he does love his fruit which is very good. I hope when you arrive back in Portugal it has dried up , as we are having very heavy rain at the moment that we have been waiting months for it has been so dry and hot and with dust from Sahara made all trees dirty and sone dying to to lack of water , i have lost a peach and walnut , sadly I lost the bananas a few years back I loved picking my own bananas and peaches. Well I wish you all a safe journey back and Crusoe to see his duck and chicken after all this time . Xx

I learned so much in this video and the video before. Those white cows with the horns and the black ears and eyes and nose are amazing. The beaver and how they can chip and chop at a tree that large. Wonderful to see more of your visit to Mapperton! It's so great to see various youtubers I've followed (some for a very long time) find eachother and connect, bc theres so much pooled knowlege, experience and transformative personal stories, creativity and bravery between you all, that it's really cool to see people I admire connect, share, learn, laugh and encourage eachother. There's a great community out there across Europe with likeminded people on different journeys but with a veritable goldmine of knowlege and spirit between them, and you guys are in that group, but just getting started discovering it! Where I live beavers are back and strong as ever! We have so much coastline, archipelago and are one of the nations in the world with the most amount of sweet water lakes (over 100.000 covering more than 9%of the country) that the damage beavers do isn't disastrous. More than farmers its really the suburban middle class that gets annoyed on occasion as it does happen a beaver decided to take down your most prized old apple or chestnut tree in your yard while you were gone over the weekend, which is understandibly tragic, especially with very old trees, symbolic family trees planted commemoratively, or valued orchards. Here the wild is wild, so there's no fencing in the critters. You'd need to fence them out rather, which isn't tradition and very costly. But where my mom has her bayside house 15 min out of town, the municipal mamagement of the small forests and entire natural waterfront uses stumps and toppled trees the beavers don't manage to move to instead make wonderful natural benches and picnic areas with plaques that attribute them to these nocturnal munching architects, with tooth marks intact! Quite stunning all polished up! We have a beaver family smack in the capital too, ( as it's a city of islands connected with bridges) the same family since at least 30 years now. I worry about urban development though... I recommended Kylie Flavell and her husband Guido do a collab with you someday, btw! They're just about to have their very first little baby boy in Tuscany. She's an Aussie, videomaker, traveller, cook. They have both been restoring (and are in full swing ) their old family farmhouse. Stunning place! I like to imagine you guys get together too at some point if you plan to visit Italy some time. Happy travels home to the farm! 💕💕💕💕
