Buffalo Thinks it Got Saved Only to Fall Victim to Other Lions
This buffalo tried calling his herd to save him from a pride of lions but instead called more lions, which ended badly for the pride and the buffalo.

Wildlife photographer Joe Welman, while on a safari drive in the MalaMala Game Reserve, captured this incredible display. He shared the story and footage with LatestSightings.com.
"We set out early one morning, eager to find the resident pride of lions that call this reserve home. Little did we know that we were about to witness something that only happens once in a lifetime."
As Johannes and his group ventured deeper into the reserve, they stumbled upon a pride of lions that had managed to corner a massive buffalo bull. However, it soon became evident that these young lions were inexperienced hunters, as they were unable to kill it. They were merely biting the buffalo's hindquarters, not sure how to deliver the fatal blow.
The injured buffalo, though in pain and distress, refused to give up, and its continuous bellows pierced the air, echoing through the savannah. In a desperate attempt to rally its own kind for support, the buffalo's cries resonated across the vast landscape.
For a brief moment, some of the buffalo herd members rushed back to the injured buffalo bull, showing solidarity and a glimmer of hope. However, their presence was short-lived, as the impending danger was too great.
That’s when a coalition of male lions from a different pride, who happened to be nearby, came thundering onto the scene. It was a dramatic turn of events and not the kind of attention the buffalo had hoped for. The buffalo's situation had gone from bad to worse, as the formidable lions closed in, ready to seize the opportunity that fate had presented to them.
The sight of these formidable males sent shockwaves through the pride of young lions. Frightened and outmatched, the young lions retreated, leaving the buffalo a brief window of hope. Exhausted but not defeated, the wounded buffalo managed to rise to its feet. Yet, the wear and tear of the ordeal had taken its toll, and it had little energy left to escape.
But the drama was far from over. The coalition of male lions, having chased off the inexperienced pride, returned to finish the job. This time, they quickly put an end to the buffalo's struggle.
"In the wild, every moment is a test of survival. Nature's balance can be harsh, yet it is essential for the delicate balance of these ecosystems."

Buffalo and lion interactions are literally a dice roll.
Just shows the power an dominance an presence of 2 male lions come an got the job done swiftly! King for a reason 🦁 👑
It is incredible that two male lions can so easily chase off +10 lionesses and young males
Ya & the 2 males killed the buffalo right off the bat, whereas the females were still putting it through prolonged agony because they couldn’t kill it right away!!
The 2 male Lions are veterans 💪🦁😊
@@tara_p_rose11Not a fair comparison as it had been already significantly weakened by the lionesses before the lions attacked.
Thats not what happened. The two male lions are the leaders of that pride and came in to finish it off.

All I can say is that I’m glad the males came & put the buffalo out of its agony quickly. It was taking a long time to die with those females there.

There's no way that Buffalo died quickly. Plus, as incredibly powerful as Buffalo are, they really don't do much in the way of trying to defend themselves. It basically just stood there waiting to be eaten.

That young male lion wanted to leap on the buffalo's back but didn't have the confidence to do it 😂😂. He'll get there one day.

Those two lions made it look easy taking down that buffalo and running the other pride off.
Did they 'run the other pride off'? ... Bulshit lie by the uploader. Lions do not 'chase' other lion prides away, they take them over, kill any young or males they can catch and the mature females submit or die. Obviously those two lions were the kings of the same pride and i might believe they ran off a 'different' pride if the footage of that happening was not cut, but that footage was cut because it never happened but the uploader thinks it created more drama and the uploader also thinks people are F-ing stupid.... the roars 🔥🔥🔥
There are some that say a Kangal or caucasian shepherd are match for a male lion lol
Among animal fanboys I would say that those that champion dogs have some extra wild takes. Most dogs can't even take on a large wolf consistently, and those have to team up in order to take out leopards, the 5th largest cat.
@@An_Actual_Rat ..Unfortunately for them (dog lovers) Dogs are the product of human manipulation of genes they dont have any protection against a super predator they dont have the tough skin of a honey badger or strong neck of a hyena
Whoever told you that there is no dog in the world that can take on a fully grown male lion dogs struggle to even get the better of leopards and leopards are much smaller than lions.

What a great video! It's a shame those female lions were struggling to kill the buffalo - two adult males had absolutely no problem. Why were they roaring at the end of the video, after the kill? Is that a call to their family to come eat?
The roar was to warn the young males to stay away
After zebras, buffalo are the most entertaining of the herbivore prey animals.
How so? They aren't cool like elephants and rhinos. They aren't hyper aggressive like hippos. They don't look as good as oryx. The most buffalo manage is to occasionally fling lions in the air.
@@Monster-Beast-FanOh, I agree with you. When I say entertaining, I mean as prey animals, not that they're cool. It's amusing the various way they get themselves caught and go down. Also, how hilariously inefficient their rescue attempts can be.
At 00:55, during the opening scene, you could see that the buffalo had its tail bitten off by a lion. Perhaps it had exhausted itself, leading to such feeble resistance.
Incredible? They're truly aren't many animals who will mess, with a male lion! Oh to watch the food chain. The way that lion just jumps on that buffalo's back is crazy! What will actually deter a male lion? An elephant? A hippopotamus? Sometimes they seemingly don't wanna mess with some horns either. But when one of those things actually manages to jump the back of a buffalo? Scary!
There's hardly any animals in Africa stupid enough to take on a lion I'll agree with that statement. But if you added Asia I would have to disagree lol
Yes sir! So, what in Asia?

male lion 😎🔥👑
Deja vu
At First the Buffalo was going to live at first, then fate finally comes to worse when it got killed by two other Male Lions!
Why do lions go for the balls first when attacking buffalos? They tear apart the balls and basically "sterilize" their prey as if this is the most important task ahead. Even if the buffalo manages to escape, it will be unable to procreate and the lions will lose potential preys.🤔
Is that lion stuck on stupid his roar is skipping like a scratched cd
That injured Buffalo was lucky more lions showed up. Had hyenas showed up instead, it would’ve been in for slow and agonizing torture as they ate it alive. 🤔

Oh look another video of lions hunting, but certain people keep saying lions are scavengers and hardly ever hunt. Can't remember the last time this channel uploaded a hyena hunt, according to the same people hyenas hardly ever scavenge.😅
Stealing is another form of scavenging. And lions steal more than any other predator in africa.
Personally I think the discourse is kind of dumb because both species hunt and scavenge at similar rates. People in general should consider how much importance they give to youtube videos as well, since they don't reflect real life that well.
@@Monster-Beast-Fan Actually we should not be accepting open lies when we can see with our own eyes... Lions steal more than any other predator only on paper, but in real African wild hyenas are the ones steals more than any other predator. So don't consider articles as absolute truth for a Liar who can Lie with his toungue will not hesitate to do the same with his pen.
Lions are both scavengers and hunters just like hyenas. Both animals hunt and neither would turn down a free meal if it were already dead
