Leopard Catches Blind Buck that's Walking in Circles
After being left blind by a spitting cobra, this buck is entirely disoriented. Because it's blind, it walks around in circles and circles. A leopard happens to be nearby and in no time the leopard takes advantage.

Moses Bokaba, 31-year-old Investment Manager, captured this amazing footage and shared it with LatestSightings.com.
Moses recounts the gripping sequence of events that left him awestruck. As he entered the Kruger National Park, passing through the Paul Kruger gate he turned onto the S3 road. He headed for a spot that he knew all too well, the first riverbed crossing, a picturesque spot that was just so special, one can’t help but stop and take it in.
As Moses and his friends approached the riverbed, their attention was immediately drawn to a disoriented bushbuck. What made this sighting extraordinary was that the bushbuck appeared to be blinded in both eyes, likely due to a recent encounter with a predator. As they watched in amazement, the bushbuck stumbled into the riverbed, becoming the focal point of everyone’s attention.
Little did they know, a leopard was grooming itself in the distance under a tree within the same riverbed. The video footage Moses captured beautifully depicts what happened next, a moment of intense anticipation and excitement. The adrenaline levels in the car were soaring as they realized they were about to witness an enthralling wildlife interaction.
The footage reveals the leopard's stealthy approach as it locked onto the vulnerable bushbuck. The tension in the vehicle reached its peak as they watched this encounter unfold. As Moses described it, "it was a thrilling, intense, exciting, and anxious experience all at once."
The climax of this extraordinary encounter came when the leopard pounced, successfully securing its prey. Moses and his companions were left in awe as they watched the leopard carry its kill across the road, disappearing into the bush.
This sighting was as rare as they come, an experience that defied belief. It serves as a reminder that patience is key while exploring the wild, as anything can happen at any moment.
What adds to the intrigue of this story is the fact that Moses and his friends were the sole witnesses to this incredible event. It was an encounter with nature that they will treasure forever.
To add to the wonder of their safari, after the leopard's successful kill, they spotted another leopard just a short distance away, making this day in Kruger National Park an unforgettable adventure.

Does anyone else notice how well the Leopard blended in with the scenery before striking the buck?
exactly
Yes I was just saying that he blended in very well with the brush!
Yes because leopard was wondering that he is very close to deer and the deer is almost facing towards him so blending in was it's best chance
The buck didn’t
Yup. It disappeared for a moment
leopard camouflage was amazing there.
Although, it didn't have to be 🙈

Why didn't that person try helping that blind buck. By sounding his horn. Oh well people get off of that then pat it on video or Facebook. 😢
My goodness, look how Leopard completely blends into the environment.
Yeah, I was surprised by that. Depending on how they position their bodies, they can blend in with the brush and the sand. Definitely impressive.
There's a video of one that manages to sneak within like 20 feet of some wildebeest in plain sight. No trees or tall grass or anything to hide in. They really are nature's death trap.
Agreed. I didn't see it until the camera started zooming in
I couldn't see him too. Same color as trees
Looks like the PREDATOR from the movies
If you listen that bird was trying to warn the poor bloke of the danger. Honestly of all the ways to die in Africa, a leopard is one of the quickest and cleanest.
Tentou mesmo!
You look like an angel to me.
Definitely an alarm call warning the buck! But it's actually a tree squirrel :)
Leopard agrees too ;)
It was like being choked out violently 😂 but at least it wasn’t eaten alive
Im just glad to watch a video where the woman isn't screaming in the background...
Crazy how all the birds tried to warn him ..and it totally understood the warning alerts.....Mannn, how tf did it even survive that long??

@@gregplatt6695 Yeah, we should definitely save all of the poor wildlife so that none get eaten and all of the wild carnivores can just starve to death. I take it reality is a hard concept for you, Greg?
@gregplatt6695 he will just go around the corner and eat another one? That's nature.v do you want the leopard to starve to death, slowly and painfully??
@@gregplatt6695It's called "Nature". Predators will attack and eat weak prey. They need to for survival. We can't have all these wonderful animals in our world without other animals being killed.

I’m surprised no one is talking about the screams of terror the buck did. I know it’s just natural selection and nature takes it’s course but.. this is a super reality check.. even in our lives.
U and I have the same thoughts..
Nature has its own way of dealing with the old, the blind and the sick amongst its ranks.
The description says the buck was blinded by a spitting cobra, it seems like nature also deals with those who are just unlucky I guess. Poor unlucky buck.

The one mercy the buck had going for him is that an efficient killer found him first as opposed to something that would’ve just eaten him alive like wild dogs or hyenas.

Most likely someone blinded him to entertain the tourists, or the tourists did it themselves. TV channels do it all the time, including famous naturalist who pass themselves off as "friend of the animals".

I agree!! That would have been something.
How did they know the deer was left blind after an encounter with a spitting cobra?
@@JasonMomos they don't know for sure but its the most likely reason the poor buck lost its site
@@JasonMomos maybe they just didn’t get it on camera and followed the buck after it happened 😞
I understand that's how wildlife lives, but the poor buck didn't stand a chance since he was unable to see the threat. Predators hunt the informed, hurt, and those animals who are unable to defend themselves. It's just so very hard to watch
I honestly don't think that the leopard wanted the buck to know that he was going to be attacked. Now, the leopard knows that the buck is pretty fast, so that's why he snuck up on him, so that he wouldn't have to chase him down. Pure instincts.

Amazing camouflage.
When the buck is blind any camouflage will work lol.

He made it far in life for a blind buck.
as the description states, he wasn't born blind. he would've been dead much earlier.

my wife and i talk about this all the time; she is blind without her glasses - legally. if life had not had progressed for her to live in the time and place, much less be a human - then she would of gotten a life like this, or best case stuck in the corner to do tasks that require no site. @@davebartosh5either smell or heard it. But it seemed to know it was in danger. Didn't know what to do. Let's be honest, a blind animal in the wild isn't going to last long
@@davebartosh5no,if he'd of smelled it then he would of known the direction of the leopard by which way the wind is blowing. That's why predators will always try and get down wind, circle round if they have too. As the wind will carry the scent and the prey will run the other way. Same for the sound,if it heard anything it would have known which direction the sound was coming from and ran off the other way. I'd say it's more likely it sensed there was something there but didn't know what or where as it never heard or smelled the leopard as he'd a ran for his life if it did as they're so skittish they don't hang around to find out they just run

I appreciate you not stepping in and messing with the course of nature!
I really feel the same way too but damn
The amount of people here thinking, nay, assuming because obviously they didn't think at all, that it was born blind and lived into adulthood while being blind is astounding. Even without reading the description a normal person can deduct and conclude something blinded it in the last few hours. This isn't Disney or any movie, tv show people. Just spraying your ankle is certain death, for you can't outrun predators or can't hunt prey.
That leopard was so confused..."why isnt this deer running"
Nah, this is how leopards hunt. Being able to see doesn't stop them from getting into striking distance undetected.
First thought: Shit, I am dead. Second thought: I am glad. It's a leopard, no wilddogs.
How cruel is nature 😢
Extremely. 😢
No. It's kind. If the weakest were allowed to survive, extinction would be on the cards.

Spitting cobra kills prey by aiming for the eyes. The poison is highly irritating. The struck animal instinctively rubs its eyes. This works the poison into the bloodstream (look at the blood vessels in your own eyes) which kills the prey. A different method than injection. Some spitting cobras can spit venom up to more than a meter. Photographers shooting spitting cobras always wear protective glasses or goggles. I spoke with one who said that the only problem he had was having to repeatedly wipe venom off his camera lens since the cobra kept mistaking the lens for an eye. There is a highly dramatic description of what it feels like to be hit in the eyes with spitting cobra venom in the book "Bring 'em back Alive", by Frank Buck. Blindness after being hit can be temporary or permanent.
Thanks!
Amazing! It bites and bends the neck back, completely strangling the buck. Well, I think it's better to be choked for 1-2 minutes, than to be eaten alive.
All day long pal
ITS BETTER TO DIE QUICK THAN HUMAN CRUELTY TURTURE & SUFFERING
For sure, best way to go. Wild Dogs are the ones you never want to be caught and eaten by, followed closely by Komodo Dragons.
Yap better to be killed by a leopard than African wild dogs
If I were blind this would be a favor to me
If you move the red slider dot at the bottom of the video to the left amazingly the buck comes back alive.
😂😂😂
I feel happy for the blind buck it got freedom from that struggle of being blind 😔😔
This is best, but man, those death screams are always chilling.
Darkest moment was when the leopard posed for the cam while catching it's prey....
Awesome stealth leopard. Good going!
😮
Why was the buck left alone. They knew it was blind seem it could have been kept at a farm. It didn't have no way of protecting itself. It tried to get away but didn't know what direction to go in. It stayed alive for along time.

How did they know that the buck was blind??
The buck was blinded by a spitting cobra. Either they saw it get blinded or simply saw it moving around in circles. Read the description.
That buck got himself set up never had a chance.
Not sure which was the brightest idea: partially closing the window to keep that vicious leopard out, or speaking in whispers to keep the leopard from hearing what was being said. And how do we know that it was a spitting cobra what done it?
Why are you showing us a animal with no chance to survive against a predator.
I can't say I fully agree with nature's laws. But then humanity's way seems to lead to a no better and no worse path.

Subhan Allah..
All that growth and survival to become a leopard's lunch. His proteins will not be wasted, though.
Being born as prey then being blind prey is the worse fate of a prey. Still I'm surprise that the buck can grow to that size though.
It was probably blinded fairly recently
he must have ate something that made him temporarily blind. He can't grow into an adult being blind in jungle.
He was blind from a cobra. Read the description.
If not mistaken, the spitting cobra venom would have killed the buck over a longer period of time due to entering the body through its eyes as opposed to an injection bite and the leopard is likely doomed for eating the poisoned buck.
