Times it SUCKED to be an Impala

If you could be one animal in the wild, would any of you choose to be an impala?
This video features the impala - the most common buck in many African safaris.
Impalas are known to be the staple diet of many predators. They are so common because they are so adaptable in terms of what they eat, that they can survive almost anywhere.
In this video, we show lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, crocodiles and even hippos fighting and catching impala.
Truly a beautiful animal, but it's probably the one that has the most danger around every corner.

  • Great footage. No unnecessary music or commentary...just raw nature. The video also dispels the myth that predators kill their prey before eating. Fortunately, the prey animals appear stunned as they are torn apart. Thanks.

    @davidviner5783@davidviner57832 жыл бұрын
    • Very few consciously try and kill their prey. They just start eating.

      @nutyyyy@nutyyyy2 жыл бұрын
    • Now a big beast like the tiger will prefer to kill his prey first so that he can eat it in peace, without risking it fighting back. There are several videos where the tiger has the prey pinned down from behind and then he lunges to its neck and breaks its neck and executes a fairly quick kill. Hyenas and wild dogs prefer to start eating the prey as soon as they overpower it because they are at a risk of losing their dinner to a bigger predator who may come along and steal their meal. In case of wild dogs, they are not strong enough to kill a prey anywau. A tiger can easily defend his dinner. So remember, if prey is pinned down by the rump by the tiger = quick kill as the tiger jumps onto the neck and kills it swiftly. If prey is pinned down by the rump by the hyenas or wild dogs = slow death, being eaten inside out from behind, with innards and organs being pulled out.

    • Impalas are one of the most successful antelope in Africa, mainly due to their great adaptation abilities. They can even switch diet when required, from grass to leaves. Vidoes like this show only victories of predators, but most of the time they fail to catch them.

  • To all the people who think impalas get killed all the time, yeah that's true but in nature it's the survival of the species as a whole that matters. The Impala is a very successful antelope species. The Impala's diet consists of both grass and browses, so they are termed 'mixed feeders'. Being able to eat many types of vegetation benefits them, as it enables them to always have options for sustenance no matter the season. They have remained virtually unchanged for 5 million years which goes to show that their strategy and game plan for survival works.
