.............................................................
Mat has got his hands on yet ANOTHER car… But we have to say, this might be the most exciting one yet!
That’s right, his new long-termer is the carwow Car of the Year 2021, the Toyota GR Yaris! After reviewing it last year, Mat pretty much fell in love with it on the spot - so he just had to get one in for a few months!
Now we know he loved it when he got his hands on it to review, but that was only for one day! So how will he find it when he’s living with it as a daily driver? Will the love hold strong? Or will he miss his RS6 or A45 S?
You'll have to keep watching as he takes you through what he loves, likes and hates with the new GR Yaris!

  • I think it'd be fun to see just how far some people can take these with tuning! Something's telling me people are more interesting in fiddling with this Yaris than with the new Supra (which is ironically specifically made to be modified) and I think that says a lot about how important passion is when making a sports car... Toyota probably didn't need to make this car in the first place, they could easily have kept making the WRC model based on the old Yaris (maybe with a body kit to look a bit more like the new one) and I bet very few people would have noticed. I think this and the GT86 show that "modern standards" is not what makes modern European cars so boring, greed and lack of passion is the reason for it. Toyota may sell this at a loss but the respect they gained from fans all around the world will benefit them in the long run!

  • Great video..just took delivery of my pearl white gr circuit pack a few days ago , I love it for sure. The only thing I thought about the carbon wrap over the top of the forged carbon roof is that it probably provides UV protection for the roof better than lacquer which can degrade. As Toyota assume it will be an everyday car and offer a 5 year warranty compared to a Lamborghini or Ferrari which is probably garaged 90% of the time.. also imho I sort of think the forged carbon itself kinda looks a bit like a fake granite kitchen worktop from 15 years ago..? Maybe it’s just me... each to their own, TBH I wouldn’t have worried if the roof had been body-coloured either , like the aluminium body panels are.. knowing is better than showing..

  • I think te reason why the gap between the brake and the accelerator pedal is so big, is because in rally cars is more likely to brake with your left foot and accelerate at the same time with your right one so when you have to give it the full beens at the end of the curve it's more efficient for having better exits at them, than doing a heel and toe technique to change down gear. I think in rally competitions they are more used to do the go-stop-go thing at a curve to "save time" than be kind to the gearbox and make a soft gear change
