Screen Junkies love both characters but I’m rooting for Godzilla. I’m sure I’ll feel sympathetic for Kong too. Everyone underestimates Kong, but I’m saying he’s gonna bring the house. Wouldn’t be surprised if Kong won. I’m just excited to see these two go at it on the big screen again!

@@KureiSS5 You CAN'T compare KotM to Pacific Rim. They're two different beasts. One's a Kaiju v Kaiju movie, the other is a Robot v Kaiju movie. BOTH are incredible

I don’t know why any of you bother to go to those movies in the first place? People complain to Disney for doing them and yet they still go to watch them to complain. If you guys never like the idea to begin with why bother going to see it? All this does is encourage the company to make more since well all you are doing is giving the movies attention and money.
Well the characters are supposed to be real lions, and real lions don't really make facial expressions like people do, so I don't know why you'd expect them to in the first place?

So, just how radioactive is that? Whelp, it's melting hardened steel and concrete buildings just by being near it. I can't even begin to imagine how much ionizing radiation there'd have to be to make the air around Godzilla over 3000 degrees.

Sadly this is true. Why can’t everyone just stfu and marvel at the radioactive goodness on the screen? We don’t love these movies for the academy award potential and all this whining will just put an end to the many more scaly boi moments we truly need.

In Kong v. Godzilla, Kong will have Godzilla in a near death situation until Godzilla says "Must...save...Mothra..." Then Kong will say "Why did you say that name?" and they'll realize they both had friends named Mothra. Then they'll team up to fight a resurrected Mecha-Ghidora. And then Wonder Woman shows up, I think...it's gonna be a super original plot line.

I agree with everything in this trailer; except the part about it being boring. I can understand a lot of the things people say about the movie; but boring is *DEFINITELY* not one of them.

Screen Junkies always state something like that for the humour/controversy of the video (Since it's an "Honest Trailer"). Doesn't necessarily mean that it's the majority's view or the view of the specific individual. A lot of their videos are balanced both humorously tearing into the movie whilst praising the movie low key.

Also I thought the human characters were pretty decent, Could have been better but pretty engaging nonetheless , The film also made a good balance between the human element and the monster element , Which made the pacing really good.

This movie doesn’t bore me, but a new Godzilla movie should have: • More screen time for the monsters. • Less screen time with humans. • Show more than tell.
Amount of screen time for the monsters was fine by me. But why did almost every scene with them have to be mostly obscured by the CGI storms? Yeah, I know that it was part of Ghidorah’s suite of powers, but it didn’t HAVE to be.

Well yeah, I think the vast majority of us would be awestruck and just stare wide-eyed at living creatures that were bigger than most skyscrapers. Well... before we started running away in terror. (Or in my case, running TOWARD the kaiju to hug them.... and probably die.)

King of the monsters may not be a great film, it brought back a lot of my childhood Gojira memories and was exactly what I expected in a monster movie. I wish there were more Mothra appearance though

This is clearly not a masterpiece, but it’s one of the most consistently entertaining movie I’ve seen. It’s strange that people complained about a lack of Godzilla in the first one, but complain about too much Godzilla in this one.
If you put one spoon of sugar in a glass of milk, you might ask for more. But when you put ten spoons of it in a glass, you might say it is too much. Honestly, it was too much godzilla for me. I was ok with the 2014 one.

From the moment it started with The King's roar, till the post-Credit moment wrapped it up, I was grinning like a mad man. Mothra was so beautiful I shed tears, Godzilla was mighty, King Gidorora was terrifying, Rodan was glorious and the humans were alright.
Let’s be real: the movie failed because Jet Jaguar wasn’t in it.

I pick the IMDB one, the one that isn't gated by a theatrical verification scheme and so isn't as heavily skewed towards the fans who want to take the effort to promote the movie. Or the CinemaScore, since that is the only properly randomized poll.

2:10 Ok i know that, like cinema sins, this channel is comedy and shouldn't be taken too seriously. But, however, that being said, how can anyone call this movie boring? Also, the complaint about "not enough godzilla" in the 2014 film was legit, but this movie doesn't "over compensate", it gives fans what they want and does it just right. In other words, to fans, this movie was awesome! (I do agree though that Sally Hawkins shouldn't have been killed off at all, let alone the way she was).

@@3godzilla3 The original Godzilla was horrible about cutting away. However, KotM more than made up for it. Cut aways are inevitable in giant monster movies like this, and KotM was not bad in this category.

This movie was supposed to build up to an epic showdown at the end of the film with JUST monsters, just like the Heisei films. But we didn't get that. Gojira is not the movie to compare this to, as that was one movie that did it's own thing anyway. A majority of the Godzilla films never had this long cutaway issue.

2014 Godzilla had more frames of the Kaiju than the old movies ever had.
They both had boring and tedious human screentime for ~80% of the runtimes. The difference is that the 2014 movie focused on uncompellingly written human characters while keeping the monster in the background until the climax, while the 2019 one had the human character deliver tedious exposition dump after exposition dump to explain the plot, and treated them essentially as plot devices with very little character focus while still trying to pass them off as main characters.
I love this new Godzilla. I saw many easter eggs from the original storylines.

The movie would have been better if Godzilla and Ghidora stepped on all the human characters halfway through the movie and just fought for the last half.
Every Godzilla movie should have half the human characters stomped during each kaiju's introduction scene, and again at the halfway point.

Every time some good fantasy movie comes out, purist "fans" like you come ranting out on how it's a bad movie because it doesn't fit with the canon but people still love it lol. Same happened with Godzilla 1998. It got so much hate from Godzilla fans even though it was an okay movie.. the CGI wasn't great, the acting was bad but most people still liked it.

I'm not surprised he focused on the people and skipped over the monsters. The whole point of honest trailers is to mock a movie. The parts of the movie that put the monsters front and center and actually pretty good, and therefore harder to make fun of. But the human characters where awful. I hated the entire family at the center of the story and others like Charles Dance and Ken Watanabe were underdeveloped and wasted.

Underwhelmed audiences? Uh, no. Maybe critics, but most of them complained in the first one about not enough monsters, then in this one about too many monsters, so I think their opinions can be safely discounted.

Yeah, Honest Game Trailers Mortal Kombat was also wrong when it said the 3D era bankrupted the company. I've recently discovered that is the exact opposite.

Not true at all. Literally my favorite fictional thing, have the showa to millenium eras down almost line for line (and 84 is the best fight me), loved Shin, even have a soft spot for 98 as a disassociated monster movie... ...still hated this movie. And 2014. They're just above Son of Godzilla for me.
That's not the case. if you just want a good monster movie you will love this film.

i mean the human scenes were so cringe it really got me bored. if these were a super cut of just the monster fights and explanations, then I wouldn't have gotten bored. Those fucking few intercessions of human drama made me wanna check my phone or just go to the bathroom for a bit. Never felt that watching a movie in a cinema before.

I'm not gonna lie, I effing loved this film. I signed up to watch gigantic monsters fight and that's what I got. I had a blast.

Honestly, thought the monster fights were pretty cool. (Mothra, you beautiful bug queen, thank you for your sacrifice.) The human stuff was an excuse.
No worries Mothra is immortal in a sense since she can be reborn. I love all the kaiju, but Mothra was a beautiful beast with a glorious post pupae reveal and she has a great streak of bad ass-ness.. she excited more than Godzilla himself until he went nuclear ape shit
At the end in the newspaper you can see an egg Mothra laid so we will have a mini Mothra soon hopefully

Nope, king of the monsters has really bad cut and boring story telling. If you want to know what is the really good balance between human drama and monster actions, go to watch first Godzilla (1954 ver).

So far, Kong: Skull Island is the only one who got a nicely done Kaiju Fight that takes place in daylight. In these modern times.
Yeah.. I think it was probably a good idea not to do a bright daylight fight when Pacific Rim Uprising made it look so fake. To be fair though they probably could have done something more like low light or overcast to make it not all clouds and storms all the time. The original Pacific Rim designed around this issue by having bioluminescent kaiju and electronic jagers, which made it look pretty good, so I get that Godzilla had limitations with the designs, but hopefully they do a little better for long vs Godzilla.

I was bored by the dragging human drama but damnit it gave me shivers when Godzilla faced King Ghidorah in round two.

They do it in every movie idk why it just now became a problem in this one. At least they tried to make it more interesting than a bunch of blank face dudes in suits talking about earthquakes happening more frequently in the last 3 months
Great Teacher no it’s like criticising a slasher for every character not having a character arc with development. Godzilla films use the humans as conduits to move the plot and to inform. Brian Cranston was the only one with any depth in the last one. In KoTM at least they had defined quirks.
