This director is really passionate about his helicopters.
Bose-Einstein Its helicofetish....
Best part of the video
Sarok Edgy.
All the updates about this game are always here. shortlink.im/ZEKwN
@Sarok I liked the helicopters...
Mad props to any director who's willing to riff his own movie!
Daren Davison cool
Get Michael Bay in there after he makes his final Transformers movie
Megumi I think that The Last Knight was his last movie
MythicTyrant Unless CinemaSins makes fun of it... then it's a 3-day long twitter rant.
I'm thinking this is a pr stunt after he went full tantrum on twitter about eww
"The inexplicable ability to sneak up on, like a ninja." You said it yourself: he is Gorilla Batman
BatKong! god damn it!
Kong: Save Mothra. Godzilla: Why did you say that name??
@@pjdianalan7934 LOL, if it's true it would be EPICCCC!
Turn on the subs
Godzilla:Superman. Kong:Batman. Mothra:Wonder Woman.
Props to the director. He practically slammed his own movie even though it's probably the best mainstream monster movie of the last decade
ikr
Best monster movie of the last decade?? so what a poor decade :(
I wouldn't call it the best, but it's certainly one of the most entertaining takes on King Kong.
I bloody loved it.
He had a metal break down over people critizing it like a giant baby, this is him desperately trying to gain a bit of rep back because he embarrassed himself
"I mean what are boats made of?...FUCKIN HELICOPTERS"
that killed me
"Satire is not bankruptcy. You just can't declare it." xD
R u really mr kojima?!
CinemaSins Review of Kong Skull Island In a NUTSHELL
I understood that reference
@@khirulaminur yes
Yep.
Just the fact the director admits there are issues with a movie, even a good one, instead of bashing fans with all sorts of negative things... Good for you sir, Good for you. Some hope left for the arts.
He had a temper tantrum on Twitter because of cinemasins. Great that he's pointing out flaws here, shame he tried to put others on blast for doing the same thing.
@@b4tteryac1d27 cinemasins doesn't point out actual flaws, they mostly intentionally misinterpret or stupidly don't understand the movies for supposed comedic effect that has no actual jokes in it.
@@92brunod Exactly. Well pur
@@92brunod epicly true
@@b4tteryac1d27 no they pointed out a point that was already explained in the movie
Gotta admit, Jordan Vogt-Roberts is pretty brave admitting his film's own flaws; I still thought he did a fantastic job in the movie, which I loved all the way through, cannot wait for the Godzilla vs Kong 2020
Gotta give the movie credit. It's the first monster movie where I rooted for the monsters to eat the female lead.
I didn't care, he didn't fail to entertain me by his movie.
Manuel David Rendon Acevedo and Godzilla King of the Monsters
Manuel David Rendon Acevedo i know right..i actually liked this movie too.
It's called "PR stunt". That's what happens after you go on a 3-day Twitter rant over a Cinemasins video.
"What's the boat made of? Helicopters!!" - The man directing the Metal Gear Solid movie. I'm looking forward to it even more now.
We're hoping that Sniper Wolf is also made entirely out of helicopters.
and shoots helicopters from a helicopter rifle with a helicopter scope while riding a helicopter
Their better be a full minute segment where Snake is just climbing a ladder.
Only if Snake identifies as a helicopter
And we all know what Liquid used to shoot down *2* F-16's in the beginning of the first metal gear solid. *A HELICOPTER*
I have great respect for any director who's willing to see the flaws in their own movie.
I have more respect for directors who try to fix those flaws before the movies are finished.
In hollywood; that's not how it works tho
Directors don't always get control of the final edit. He may well have filmed stuff that would have fixed those problems. Doesn't mean the studio is going to put it in the final cut.
As a film maker myself, i always see the most flaws in my own stuff, there are many factors that affect your ability to fix them even if you don't have an executive standing over your shoulder. Maybe you don't have enough time, or to fix something would require reshooting and you cant get your people back together to do so, or the weather changes and the shot would look totally different in the new conditions, ruining the overall continuity. Sometimes you only have limited use of a facility or you look over a small continuity error in the shooting process, and you dont notice it until post production. There is always a creative loss from being an idea in your head to being actually shot with the limitations set before you.
Only a few like Nolan get to tell the Studio, Editors, Producers how it's going to be, for a lot of Directors they are at the whim of the Studio and Producers and the Studio can interfere with the editing process. Look at Edgar Wright and Ant-Man, he left because of "Creative Differences" A.K.A he wanted to make something fresh and possibly innovative for the genre, but instead the Studio wanted to play it safe, props to Edgar for not selling out on his ideals and not agreeing to their changes, after he left we got a generic movie that wasn't necessarily bad, but was far from anything fresh or innovative. Hollywood is about the money first, art second
2:40 Turn on the Closed Caption / subtitles. To they guy who made this. Hats off to you sir. "*laughs in MARVEL*"
Mateh why doesn’t this have more likes lmfao
so true, have an upvote sir
Thank you
Damn, I just finished watching most of the honest trailers, now I gotta go back and watch them again with subtitles.
Also, 6:03
Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson and Tom Hiddleston together? What is this a Marvel movie? EDIT: i forgot John C reilly
Don't Forget John C Reilly, he was in Guardians of the Galaxy.
@Ramon Salcedo uh... how could you overlook that? he's been very prominent in the MCU almost since the beginning.
Godzilla(2014) has Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver. HMMMM?
Nah, Breee was too down to earth for this to be a Marvel movie.
Yeah Tom is definitly still loki Loki: YO THOR!! GUESS WHAT I FOUND Thor: Loki!? where the hell Are You Loki I was Getting to that you see i found a World a version of Earth where THERE ARE GIANT MONSTERS it AWESOME Thor:... Loki Where Are Your And How Do I Get There?
I love it when a film director is not ashamed to admit that his vision was not fully realized. Mostly due to a number of factors that people in Hollywood have to deal with. Things like budget, time restrictions, studio and writers disagreements play a major role in what the final product it going to look like.
It's also really sad that he didn't have the resources or the connections to get past budget, tie down conflicting interests, and ultimately wrap up within the allotted time frame.
That’s hollywood for ya!
It’s nice to see a director that can handle criticism, besides the helicopters
That's why there's a thing called Director's cut as also it had to build the monster verse by the way.
he raged pretty hard at cinemasins for saying stuff like "the budget on rain machines must be huge"
"Benetom Hiddlebender" definitely has something to do with Tom Hiddleston, Michael Fassbender and Benedict Cumberbatch😂😂
😂👌
I knew you couldn't say anything bad about Hiddleston!
This is my favorite honest trailer. And that's saying a lot.
hi
....hufff , for me Predator 1987
Yeah....a lot of nothing.
You didn't saw the FAST Five ; )
"Yeah I bathe in pain" Same.
Enrique Arellano my new favourite line
Epic Voice Guy should say that.
I somehow get a really weird feeling... now hear me out... that Jordan DOESN'T actually like CinemaSins...
TDKR21104 you are not wrong👊
You mean you are not Kong. Get it? Kong? Like, everything Ko- I'll show myself out.
Allen Arroyo 😑👉🚪
TDKR21104 then again cinemasins isn't a review channel, they're just assholes who nitpick and have admitted to that several times.
Jordan looks like a *Chechen Warlord* who takes bare chested selfies with Putin, while standing on bear corpses
"I bathe in pain" I love it! Somewhat rare to find a major director willing to go to this level of self-mockery.
How come in literally EVERYTHING Tom Hiddleston does he looks absolutely FLAWLESS
Rachel Cajucom - It’s in his contract “No matter the environment, Mr. Hiddleston will always be well groomed and free from debris, grime, dirt, or any indication of needing personal hygiene.”
Because Tom Hiddleston is the male equivalent of the Hot Chick eye candy in any given movie.
its all an illusion
Cause he's definitely Just Loki and had found his way to The Monsterverse after supposedly being Killed by Thanos
Because he's flawless.
BENETOM HIDDLEBENDER !! This narrator really knows us fangirls !! 😂😂😂
what?
I literally paused, laugh/cried, suddenly gets RPF ship feels even though i don't ship it, scroll down to comments, make this comment, then resumed
Actually, it makes sense for Jordan Vogt-Roberts to want to appear in honest trailer, since it's both free advertisement for the movie and it proves that he is aware of problems. All in all, I liked this movie a lot.
TurboMMaster the cinematography and lighting is one thing i liked about it.

And oddly enough, Fred Flintstone

You mean Kaiju Batman.
It's dope that the director publicly acknowledged his own movies short comings and owned up to them. Takes balls.
Did the director use a straightening iron on his beard? How in the world is it so...neat?? Most beards that length looks more like zztop while this guy looks like he should be in a shampoo commercial...for beards.
straightening iron for sure, you can see the regular texture just near the root of the hair
Definitely straightening/flat iron...I have pretty straight beard but at that length it's no way for it to flow so effortlessly
I was shocked by the beard. I don't think I've ever seen a beard that long before.
I want you to say "Cinemasins is my blood brother."

Director: Helicopter scene was bloody brilliant!!! I made all my friends and family watch this movie just so they could see the majesty of the helicopter scene. Thank you for that
Looks like they had their 3 most exciting minutes of their lives.Yey!!!
Even though it was very incoherent
It’s really nice that the director of this movie actually took the time to be in this video and accepts how his film is being criticized and criticizes his own film with honest trailer. If only all directors were like this
That mans beard is magnificent. The Norse gods themselves would be jealous.
I'd hoped it would say "Starring: the cast of the Marvel Cinematic Universe". In addition to Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L Jackson and Brie Larson, it also had John C. Reilly who had a small role in Guardians of the Galaxy (one of the Nova Corps) and Shea Whigham who played Chief Dooley in Agent Carter.
You win.
Slingblade87 who was Brie in Marvel?
C.K. Brooke miss marvel
C.K. Brooke Brie will play Captain Marvel in the Captain Marvel movie
Jesus, and also, Christ. What are you doing WATCHING the video when you could have been SUPPLYING the People making it _your_ ideas?
"Satire isn't bankruptcy. You can't just declare it." may be one of my favorite phrases ever uttered and I am definitely using it the next time some dudebro says something offensive and says "It's satire!" when he gets called out.
Missy Barbour Wow you're really brave standing up to those "dudebros"! We need more virgins like you to stand up to them! :DDD
''someone making a joke''? really? you think cinemasins is made by some poor innocent guys who just want to share one little laugh with the internet? they have seven motherfuckin MILLIONS subscribers. that's not a joke, that's a fuckin JOB. they earn money by saying stupid, not funny shit. JVR wasn't ''unprofessional'' at all. he just gave them what they deserve, saying to their faces how fuckin shitty their channel is. and yes, he can enjoy criticism and yes he can enjoy satire and joke and still he may not like a shitty stupid channel trying to make money by saying shit about his movie (which wasn't good, but that doesn't give anything better to cinemasins)
Elisa Castro "Showed he can't take criticism"? Lmao. Clearly you don't understand that there's a difference between a shitty criticism that does nothing and an insightful one that you learn from. CS's whole channel is just a joke, but Vogt probably doesn't have the time to browse around long enough to get that idea. To Vogt, CinemaSins is genuine, and is mass-spreading the message that cinema should be how Jeremy's making it out as. Is it really so hard for you to comprehend why Vogt might've been rightfully upset? The rant was unprofessional, won't defend that. But you're viewing this situation from a comically one-sided perspective.
why not? being professional means being good at your job, which is being a movie director. he can react as he likes to some shithead trying to make money insulting him and his movies on youtube.
The word "dudebro" never fails to make me cringe.
Somebody else noticed? "Footage of Loki and Nova Corps General sharing a good laugh, 1976, colourised" XDDD
To be honest, there are like 99% people in my country watched this movie, just because it was set in Vietnam and absolutely nothing else.

I've never commented before, even though I love your honest trailer work. Having the director pick his own movie apart was amazing. As this movie didn't stand out from many, your HONEST TRAILER sure has to me. Please say "How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat?"
+Screen Junkies ,please say that quote ^
I love how the director sees the flaws he made, and introduces them in a funny way. One of my fav honest trailers
"SAY KONG, ONE MORE TIME! I DARE YOU!!" and "John Goodall." Laughter, and repeated watches!!
The only thing going in my mind while watching the movie was Loki with captain marvel
Flash Boy with nick fury and that space cop
Flash Boy Fuck, that was Loki? I didn't even recognize him. EDIT: MCU needs to crossover with Monsterverse
Flash Boy with Nick Fury
Nick Fury and that guy from the Nova Core tagged along too.
And Sulley from Monster's Inc. because...Disney owns Marvel.
Come and think about it, not only they had Nick Fury, Loki and Captain Marvel here, they had Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in the first Monsterverse film (Gozilla) as well
Just Hollywood recycling actors apparently. I'm sure there aren't 1000s of people with just as much formal education that are waiting for a movie like this. Then again big names just help to sell things. Unless you're Get Out or something.
Also has a soldier Easy-E and nerdy Dr.Dre lol
I'd hoped it would say "Starring: the cast of the Marvel Cinematic Universe". It also had John C. Reilly who had a small role in Guardians of the Galaxy (one of the Nova Corps) and Shea Whigham who played Chief Dooley in Agent Carter.

I like how Monster Cinematic Universe is still called MCU 😂
5:23 Did- Did he just- Did he just pull a Bendystraw Crabbytack on Tom Hiddleston's name?
nothing about Loki, nick furry and captain marvel being in it together ????????? wow... ok
Points for nick furry.
Captain Marvel wasn’t in the MCU when this video was made
How cool of the director himself to pitch in , got faith in Metal Gear movie now
Is that beard real, though?
Wait what? I've heard about the Metal Gear movie for years now, are they finally making it?
The success of Kong has put a fire under everyone involved to finally get the Metal Gear film out of purgatory. I'm hoping he collaborates with Kojima on some of it since the man is such a huge lover of film and might have some interesting things to add (though Konami might try and throw a wrench into that idea.) Look up the fan poster that someone recently made with Chris Evans photoshopped into Solid Snake. He definitely looks the part.
ForceMaximus84 wait what happened?
84 exaggerated, that's what. The director called out the Cinema Sins video for its general lack of attention to what it's sinning, like getting actors wrong or missing elementary cinematography.
I'm honestly excited for his take on MGS I haven't watched this film but by personality all i be I think he's eccentric enough to pull some Kojima silliness that we love
His helicopter rant sounded like something Kojima would say.
TheVideoInvader totally, but with less fucks and more engrish
Don't watch it. Skull Island is really bad.

gorgonzola larson. omg. but seriously, props to the director for doing this! he seems like such a cool guy. about the movie; yeah it wasn't perfect when it comes to story or script, but if you want to watch something adventurous with good cgi fights - it's rather enjoyable.
Honestly I liked it a lot more than I thought I was going to. It was fun and had some strong actors
Agreed man, and he's also directing a Metal Gear Solid movie with Sony, so hopefully it'll break the "video game movies suck" curse.
Agree, he was way more savage than the honest trailer guys were and it's a movie I wouldn't mind watching again.
i think if you give this guy a good script he can work magic.
I agree he was *Way* too hard on himself it was way better than anyone expected it to be
Literally, honestly, one of my favorite ones you guys have ever done - involving the director was a genius and super funny idea - loved it
Love this man. Vogt-Roberts has so much love for what he does. It’s just so pure.
Mad props for Jordan Vogt-Roberts for appearing in an Honest Trailer about his own movie; that's pretty balsy.
That was pretty harsh criticism too. Damn that was ballsy.
MasterJunior93 too bad the next guy who'll be directing Kong... is Adam Wingard... I'm scared for Godzilla Vs Kong
His beard though
We'll probably never see a major movie from him again though.
Turdsley except for maybe METAL FUCKİNG GEAR SOLİD.
That director (Jordan Vogt-Roberts) was super cool for adding to this one - nice work!
I love it when you guys collab with people involved in the film-making.
Big respect to the director, I've never seen any director admit the flaws of his/her movie
Jordan went savage on his own movie and it was hilarious
Damn the director is even more honest than the Honest Trailer guy. Oh the irony
I just LOVE the secret "Easter Eggs" that you guys leave in the subtitles!!
We LOVE Kong; Skull Island and it's entirely because it's one helluva strange thing. I die each time John C. Riley looks at an imaginary beer and a hotdog in his hands.
Kong Skull Island was like a B movie with A list budget and actors.......
CG was great too. Just ignore the plot then it'll be fine.
That's exactly why I loved it.
Ever seen a Doug McClure monster movie? Cheesy, one-dimensional characters, nothing but fighting rubber monsters and going in trippy places, but it had its charm. It's an acquired taste, tho.
I think that was the point.
bellmsky you shouldn't have to ignore the plot in a movie
Is this the movie with the Director that went off on CinemaSins? Good times.
Did you even watch the video? The director actually appeared in it and called out Cinemasins.
Babyyoshi309 That's what he just said. Do you need glasses to read better?
How have I missed this honest trailer so far? By far, your best work yet....👍🏽
The shot at cinema sins in this is fire.
This is the best honest trailer in god knows how long, hope you guys use it as a blueprint for future episodes.
This blows, especially for including movie director, Honest Trailers has become boring, and just a part of industry machine

Director: Hey Im ok with honest trailers criticizing my movie and anyone else. Cinenmasins: Hold my beer.
Cinemasins giving actual intelligent criticism? When was the last time they did that?
Falcon88 but the cinema sins video came out before the honest trailer video?
to be fair to jordan, cinemasins use to be great until they decided to use lots of nitpicking and sinning a movie for the simplest of things
The problem was they ballooned their run time to 15+ minutes on average. Cinemasins was way better when it was like a four minute video on average.
Except when Cinemasins clearly hates a movie they suddenly become "important critics we should listen to". Go watch their video for The Witch and tell me they don't consider themselves to be movie critics.
I like that the director is willing to brutally criticize his own work. Good to see that not all directors are egotistic people who can't take criticism.
You forgot “And gives Samuel Jackson his chance to say the f*ck in a PG-13 movie but wastes it on what was revealed to be an ad lib by John C Reilly.”

His directing style was my favorite part of the movie. All the small funny shots like the Nixon doll made me smile.
WOW Hats off to Jordan Vogt-Roberts! I would love to see more directors project their personalities and call out flaws in their own movies.
You guys should of done one for Batman: The Animated Series because it's now 25 years old today!
They should've done IT (1990) in time for the new one!
I remember watching the first couple of episodes of Batman TAS back in 1992 and being surprised at how different it was from the Adam West show, which was pretty much the only Batman I knew at the time. :P
I take it then you were a fan of Beware the Grey Ghost?
Oh wow, really? I had no idea! I only just finished rewatching the whole series on DVD, just last week.
Yes, that is a very good episode. However when I first saw it as kid, I was too dumb to realize the symbolism of the episode (that Adama West's Batman still matters because it inspired these newer versions of the character). But nowadays I consider it among my favorite of the show. :)
‘Everything Kong with Skull Island in 120 Minutes or Less.”🤣
Dude a guy who can take criticism like that is a rare and truly powerful thing to see.
Shame he lost his mind on twitter over cinemasins pointing out that he used cliche vietnam movie music.
How to fix the helicopter problem: Should've had a second or even two more boats. Like it's not an issue to have "too many" helicopters but when you only got one boat that's gonna be the thing people notice.
Yeah, I was counting the number of choppers that could fit on the boat and I saw 6 (one at the hull, 4 in the middle, one in the back). Then 7 more choppers out of thin air. It's not possible unless they crammed the last 7 below deck like toys. Even then, the other 7 deployed fast as shit. Director's argument is invalid lol
The director on his own honest trailer, amazing!!!
So, I watched it and I counted the helicopters. It was an appropriately decent amount of helicopters. And I'm pretty sure Benetom Hiddlebender was in a crash along with the others and he STILL manages to look perfect and is literally the only awesome human character in this entire movie. The Nova Corps guy was pretty entertaining, am very glad he existed. Monster battle? Awesome.
A heart felt speech from a beautiful actress who gave a brilliant performance. I’m produn that I found this movie in moods just using boxxy software. BRAVO!!!!!! GREAT COLLECTION of movies!
Wait, so the director can take criticism from Screen Junkies, but is angry at CinemaSins for sinning his movie when they're not meant to be taken that seriously? What? (To be fair, it's fine that he criticized his own movie and acknowledges it's flaws.)
Matt Ascencion Because honesttrailers are mainly sheep and a lion does not concern himself with sheep.
I'm pretty sure he's mad at CinemaSins because they don't criticise or make fun of the movies, but instead they just nitpick whatever they find.
He got mad at CinemaSins because they made bullshit nitpicks. While Honest Trailers expresses both the good and the bad of movies.
Matt Ascencion cinema sins is 20 minutes of bull
Please do an honest trailer for the Room

With The Disaster Artist coming out soon, they probably will.

LoL!! I love how it felt like they were subtly coming for Cinemasins. It'd make sense since they've been criticized for not doing their research lately. Also, that one time Jeremy caused Screen Junkies to lose a GREAT sponsorship because he was jealous.
Gotta love a director who can honestly critique his own movie and not take himself too seriously.
A director willingly participating into the honest trailering of his own work... That's called being mature. And genuine.
