He was actually really useful and had brains (unlike Chris Hemsworth in Ghostbusters 2017) got the noble sacrifice that a hero always gets at the end of a movie. Wonder woman was the first movie using a female lead which didn't emphasize how intelligent the women were by dumbing down the men.

    • I found the story was ok but, in my opinion, the CGI awful, especially during the beginning combat scenes. And please, can we stop acting like this new movie is revolutionary by having a strong female lead (and by not dumbing down men)? Didn't you guys watch Resident Evil, Underworld, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Alien and such? It doesn't mean that there are enough of them, but you know, just acknowledging the ones before Wonder Woman would be a good thing too.

      @ariane.fandub@ariane.fandub6 жыл бұрын
    • +MrEgofreak - Chris Hemsworth's character in Ghostbusters 2017 was a direct woman-to-man characterization of the female secretary in the original Ghostbusters. +Ariane B. - Resident Evil, Alien, and Underworld aren't the same sort of film as Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman passes the Bechdel Test, for one thing, with more than 1 female character interacting with other female characters talking about something other than boys. Also all the movies you mentioned haven't come out in the last 12 years.

The answer I was looking for was Diana Prince, but someone from over the partition just yelled "Gal Gadot!" And I was like what? So someone else yelled "Gal Gadot!" Moments later five or six people were all earnestly saying to me over and over "Gal Gadot! Gal Gadot!" I had no idea what the hell was going on. One of the most confusing moments of my life, really.

Anyways, the majority of modern historians nowadays agree that there was not one nation responsible, but the circumstances of all the countries. And that all nations commited atrocities (like bombing of cities, using poisonous gas,... - the Brits had the glorious idea to promise the Israel area to the Arabs AND the Jews, only to betray both after the war...). Unlike WW2 this was not a war of ideologies, but a war of nations competing for the top position in the world, where everybody was equally morally bad or grey. Anything else is just revisionism.

    • Honestly the movie shouldn’t have had her fight Ares at all. It would have been an amazing message that fits WW1 that no one thing makes men evil, or that anyone is born evil. Situation just makes people do evil things and brings out the worst in all of us. Yah the ending is definitely the worst part of the movie all so they can have an epic finale with lightning and bright light, even though I am sure most would be okay without a finale like that.

      @bobbyferg9173@bobbyferg91736 жыл бұрын
    • Bobby Ferg Couldn't agree more. The film culminated for me when Diana killed the German general and then she saw that nothing happened. I genuinely thought and hoped that Ares wouldn't be incarnated into anyone. But yeah, you need a final showdown against some pure evil so that you may please the stakeholders.
