Hudson: "Hey Vasquez. Have you ever been mistaken for a man?" Vasquez: "No. Have you?"
Best dialoge EVER
Biggest burn in movie history :D
BURNT
Nice burn from Vasquez!
The mother of all comebacks.
Ripley is STILL the most believably badass female character in cinema.
Masterxl MVs I challenge any Hollywood writer to make a better female lead. Best female action star ever.
The only other female lead made believably badass I can think of is Mattie Ross from True Grit.
With Sarah Connor from T2 following in close second
Agreed, her character development from Alien and even to Alien 3 was perfectly structured. She's as believable as they come. She kicked Sarah Connor's ass (though, Sarah wasn't bad at all).
@Hazardous Bill was going to say the exact same thing. god I loved that kid. such a great character.
The first was the perfect horror sci fi. The sequel was the perfect sci fi action. Both movies were epic.
The first was the perfect combo of a scifi film and a horror film, the second was the perfect blend of a scifi film and an action film.
Its literally like Terminator. Horror movie then action sequel then crappy sequels after the second one
@@MESRogerStudios Begs the question of can a great sequel be made by shifting it into another genre? And if so, which one?
@@ninjawhippetproductions7411 You wanna see a sequel which is the same genre but still better than the first one ? Watch the first two '' How to train your dragon '' movies...Okay i know this is a random example but its the best one i could give...

Stephen Tito LOL! OMG so true!! Happy Veterans Day LOL
XD yeaaaahhhhhhh....
bwahahaha, thought the exact same thing right when he said that ;)
Not only that, but who are they serving? Hint: Who were the marines serving in this movie?
@@GinodiFonzo The marines serves the space corp.. Which in this context is short for corporation.
Bill Paxton: The only actor who was killed by a Terminator a Predator and an Alien. R.I.P Bill Paxton
He's Sean Bean of outer space!
SpinoDino One could argue Lance Henriksen. Killed by Terminator, Predator, and technically an Alien Facehugger caused the ship to crash killing everyone but Ripley ;)
Dick Fillmore Yeah! You maybe can count that... but it was not by an Alien first hand. But still good point. :-D
That was Michael Biehn.
He was also killed by an Agent Coulson.
Aliens: The movie that proved that Hollywood could make a good sequel. Terminator 2... The movie that proved that Aliens being a good sequel wasn't a fluke.
Yogurt: The shit I am regretting I ate while I write this on the toilet. . .
Don't forget about Evil Dead II
And in both franchises, the first two movies are drastically different in genre and tone! Why can't more modern movie franchises do this?
U do know James Cameron directed both those sequels
James Cameron... the only reason why that works.
Ripley and Sarah Connor. My childhood heroes. And both cried in their movies. That's how you make an awesome character--if they need to cry, let them cry! It doesn't take away from the badasses they are!
JC loves his women, strong.
Ripley = Sci-Fi Horror Movie Jill Valentine. Sarah Connor = Sci-Fi Action Movie Claire Redfield.
And they both got screen time with Michael Biehn!! ❤ My first crush! ❤ I wanted to save the world with him! 🔥
I added Emperator Furiosa to s. Conor and Ripley
True, but to be fair only in Hollywood action films badasses don't cry, in all other good films (both hollywood and european), characters behave like real people do.
Let's be honest: The entire Aliens storyline is a case-study in what happens when everyone knows the best way to handle a situation but decides to do something else anyway.
That seems to be the plan in a lot of horror films.
wow, 6 months into 2020 and it's no longer fiction
@@matheussanthiago9685 I was waiting for that comment.
AKA reality.
A case study in what happens when a woman knows the best way to handle a situation but everybody in charge is a man. Note: this film was made in 1986 before women achieved equality. Anyone got an exact date for that societal milestone btw?
"A sex toy factory made out of scorpions" I have never heard a better description of this franchise
Yeah, a brilliant phrase! 8D Besides, Giger's initial sketches for the original Alien were so explicitly sexual (wll, not so much as being sexy, as toying with the idea of rape), they had to downplay that theme, so there actually is or at least was some of that.
RIP, Hicks. 'I'm Hicks. He's Hudson.' RIP, Hudson.
Joe S "I'm Hudson sir. HE'S hicks."
'It's hudson sir, he's hicks'
Joe S right.
I know guys. Joke wouldn't have worked though.
Don't worry, dude. The rest of us appreciated the joke.
While Aliens was also action oriented, it is the only movie and sequel that still has the same horror and tension atmosphere as the first one despite that, this movie is just pure genius
While I agree...I'd add T2 to that list.
I didn't even realize they both have the same ending. That was funny.
@Bgsleo ok.
Besides T2, I'd add Halloween II to that list.
Aliens is a fun rollercoaster action movie that has little to nothing of the atmosphere, horror and tension of Alien. The first is far scarier, gorier, slower and creepier.
Such a great movie
boom! perfect timing
Same goes for Terminator 2.
Aliens vs T2 That'd be a tough choice Probably Aliens but it's close. Bigger cast so not really fair
just watched it yesterday... again xD it still manages to create tension despite knowing all the outcomes. I don't know how James Cameron did this, but not many movies manage to do that.
Do "The Thing" from 1982!
Or the one from 1951. Having said that, why not both? :D
How about all three versions? 51, 82, and 11.
Jesse Ward all of them
Or 'Do The Right Thing' from 1989.
Toats The First yes I would love to see it
"Yas Kween!" Made me laugh so hard I cried. 😂🤣

Screen Junkies Please say: "I'm Chris Hansen from Dateline NBC. Why don't you have a seat"
"the Marine who literally can't even." LOL!! 😂 So true, but I ❤ Pvt. Hudson.
FFcecil1991 pax is the one who can’t even
Tom Pope How's that?
FFcecil1991 just a stupid joke, because bill paxton plays Hudson but he gets killed a lot in movies so it’s like he’s the real life marine who can’t even
What does "can't even" mean?
R.I.P. Hudson. 😔💔
"Game over man game over" my favorite line "they mostly come at night, mostly" is a close second
Hudson: 17 days? Hey, I don't mean to rain on your parade but we're not gonna last seventeen hours! Those things are gonna come in here just like they did before! And they're-- they're gonna come in here-- Ripley: Hudson. Hudson: --and they're gonna come in here and-- AND THEY'RE GONNA KILL US!!! Ripley: HUDSON! This little girl survived longer than that with no weapons and no training. Right? Hudson: Why don't you put her in charge?
Dr.X Yes at night (pause) mostly Shiiiiiit 😱 That shot of Pax looking back towards Ripley and the girl. Beautiful shot
My favorite line: "I say we take off and nuke the whole site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
I still can't hear "they mostly come out at night, mostly" line and NOT hear cartman saying it.
@@towlie337 apparently Carrie Henn HATED that line lol

"Knock it off, Hudson!"
For me honestly the Alien franchise ended with Aliens and I just like to pretend that Ripley made it back safe with Newt and Hicks and 3 and 4 never happened.
3 was kinda boring but still decent, and 4 was great, wtf is wrong with you? XD
I thought I was the only one who thought that!!! Kudos dude.
A popular fan theory is that the events of Alien 3 and 4 were Ripley dreaming in Hypersleep. Makes sense if you think about it. We see her have an unbelievably real nightmare at the beginning of Aliens, and at the end Newt asks 'Can I dream?' to which Ripley replies 'All the way home'.
Hell yes. Killing Newt and Hicks off for the travesty that was Alien 3 was probably the worst decision in history. They should have gone back to Earth in Aliens 2, having missed an Alien that had clung to the Queen. It then wrecked havoc on the station where Ripley recovered and they have to try and stop it escaping down to the Earth (and they fail to do so, allowing for Aliens 3). Would have been SO MUCH BETTER.
The director's cut of 3 isn't bad.
One of the impressive thing about this movie is that it take half the movie, yes half, before any actions happen. And yet it never feel boring. I don't recall any action movies that can do the same.
The word you're looking for, is tension.
No action movie has action lasting a whole film though, the plot still needs to go though all stages of development...
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Yes of course, but most action movie will have an action sequence right at the start, or at most after 1/4 of the runtime.

Hell, they didn't even use his best line: "Well, it was a bad call, we can see that now, a bad call."
I don't know which species is worse.
I love when Hicks, as senior military officer left (pointed out by Ripley), listens to Burke and then nods, seeming to be in agreement but says "That's what we'll do then. Take off and nuke the place from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." which was exactly RIpleys' suggestion. Reiser's expression...lol!
Essentially that is the true villain of the story, the company, many people think the creature itself is, but the story is about the evil company trying to turn the alien into a bio weapon, not about the alien itself.....
One of those rare films that just never gets old.
"....before you see the sequel to whatever Prometheus was about..." LMFAO!! 😂😂😂
Covenant made Prometheus look like a masterpiece in comparison though.
@@vubevube LOL now THAT'S saying something both were complete garbage that absolutely ruined the franchise

Can you do an Honest trailer for The Mummy Trilogy? You know, the one with Brendan Fraiser? You know, since the new Mummy movie is coming out.
Ya know?
Fraser*
Bwendan Fwazer.
Do you understand the new Mummy movie isn't a remake of the 1999 movie, it's barely even a remake. It's a "reimagining" (if you will) of the original 1932 film, while also being the first entry in the "universal monsters cinematic universe". Which I have a feeling will be a failure. You just can't beat the classics.
James Perkins was the other one not a remake of that older one? if they are, then they're all practically coming from the same basic concept for a movie, which makes them, if only peripherally, related.
Private Vazquez was the original Michelle Rodriguez - a bad ass tomboy Latina sidekick who is completely expendable.
there's a part of me ITCHING to bring up the other 2 things that make Vasquez awesome... but that'd be hitting the low bar. Instead, I'll talk about how it took 30 years for someone to bitch about Jeanette Goldstein brownfacing herself for the role. for one sentence.

the fun thing is that absolute no manager on this planet would talk like that: "dollar value" ? the fuck? that word would never appear anywhere in a business or acocunting text book.
Of course not, that would imply that managers recognise some other measure of value than monetary.
Funny because it's so, so true!
Why don't you put her in charge?! Always my favorite line. R.I.P Bill Paxton

The Abyss Honest Trailer !!!!!!!!!!
Do it! DO IT! COME ON! HONEST TRAILER IT! COME OOOOOOOOOOON! DO IT!
The original alien was able to run amok because they didn't want to shoot it and risk it bleeding through the ship. It makes sense that they were able to kill more on the surface.
plus they are very weell trained soldiers with insane weapons while the Nostromo was a mining ship filled with civilians with barely any weapon and no training
Yes, but I remember (if I do so correctly) that the Nostromo had weapons, and they specifically discussed not using them for fear of the blood burning through the hull and sucking the oxygen, killing them all. The acidic blood was actually added into the script to give a reason why they couldn't just shoot it, and avoid a huge plothole.
They have no weapons in the original, only a flamethrower which gets lost when the captain dies. No weapons!
they had flamethrowers, cattle prods and nets in Alien. it bleeding through the ship wasn't an issue, they just had no guns
"And still no one listens to a thing she has to say" It was 58 years after the events of the first movie...
And the most bad-ass moment in sci-fi history. Yup sums it up perfectly.
