Patriotic Duty Racing breaks offshore powerboat world record from San Francisco to Marina del Rey CA

On September 15, 2023 the Patriotic Duty offshore race team broke a 35 year old offshore powerboat world record by running their 47' Outerlimits GTX offshore powerboat from San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge to Marina del Rey in Southern California, breaking the old record by over an hour. This race, produced by @OceanCup was one of a series of endurance races hosted by the powerboat organization who aims to put the ocean back into Offshore Racing.
As a member of the Ocean Cup team, I was invited to participate in this historical race by filming and photographing the team from the chase helicopter as we followed them down the coast. This didn't go completely as planned, but that story is yet to come on a future, full-story video.
2023 was full of great photo adventures, but this event takes credit for being the coolest one I did this year. Thank you to team Patriotic Duty and Ocean Cup for inviting me to be a part of offshore racing history.

Don't forget to play the anthem while you take a dump.. to honor the vets. I'm sure they feel so honored. We got our limbs blown off but it was OK, because this guy painted his fancy boat up in our names. That makes it all better. It's your DUTY to buy a speed boat. The country DEPENDS on it. • And once again the creator has to remind you that you’re an idiot if you think you can hear anything but extremely loud buffeting wind noise doing 100 mph in a turbine powered helicopter 75 feet above the water with the windows open and rotors chopping overhead. There’s a reason we wear headphones in the chopper…. So all the loud noise doesn’t damage our hearing. If you want that kind of wind noise so desperately, go stick your head out the window on the freeway at 80mph. And I dare you to keep it there for a few hours. But whatever you do, I guarantee you that you won’t hear engine noise. Please do me a favor and unsubscribe.

  • Anything is easy with enough money. Remember this happened because of one thing. Lots of money. Can't do it without it. Money first then some skill. That boat is insanely expensive. Each 1350 engine and drive costs $182,600 new. So that's over $365,000 in cash they had to pay for those engines. Then depending on what year that boat is, those boats go for around $400k-$500k used so they probably spent close to a million dollars in CASH!!!! to make all of this happen. I'm not too impressed when millionairs do stuff. Lets see this happen with 3 guys who only make $70k a year each and that would truly be something.

At present they have the DAKAR in Saudi Arabia blitzing sand dunes and setting records. Record breaking COSTS MONEY. How much did it cost to out those first men on the moon and break those records.
