A Little Reminder of Who Runs the Block Haulover Inlet Boats
Haulover Inlet is a man-made channel in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It connects the northern end of Biscayne Bay with the Atlantic Ocean. The inlet was cut in 1925 through a narrow point in the sand between the cities of Bal Harbour and Sunny Isles.
The inlet entrance channel is 400 feet wide and 14 feet deep. It's dangerous to navigate because it features:
Sandbars
Rock walls
Strong tide currents
Gusty onshore winds
There is no speed limit at Haulover Inlet.

    • Holy shit, I was just going to say something along the lines of what you said. What skill or talent does it take to buy a boat and put your foot into it or firewall the throttles. Now if you can Paddle into a 15' beach break barrel at La Fonda or deep water reef like Todos Santos, drop in, barely catching a rail, pull up and get covered up, pump out, escape and kick out and paddle back, then you can claim to be a Big Balls O'Reilly. My wife has never driven a boat before and she too can firewall the throttles and hang on with the same results we see here. Shit it takes more balls and skill for her to never have ridden a motorcycle before and jump on my son's YZ250F and take off on it at Cal City when she was damn near 50 years old.

And that one, @ 6:49 , with the driver weirdly stood steering right in the bow, never seen that 'afore, has a kid wearing what seems to be an adult buoyancy aid, and a soon to be mother (albeit with her built in buoyancy aids,) holding the kid.
