    • Thanks Daniel. Looks are deceiving on this kit....Still a long way to go...The kit is smaller, but more work as the geometry on this is very challenging. Glad you are still watching and supporting, it is very much appreciated.

Hi and Happy New year to you. I hope you and your family are all well. Thank you for watching and commenting. I have a long way to go on this model before it is out in the Garden. Although this model is smaller than the Tiger and the M26, there are so many complex stages of the build, it is taking longer to get to each stage. I am progressing slowly on this as I do not want to make any mistakes. When I first got into this hobby I was worried that it may be too challenging, but once you get started your confidence grows. I hope you do decide to buy one of these as you will not regret it.

  • It's all in the detail as they say, lots of nice fiddly work there, your sausage appendages are working well... Having said that I now require a sausage & brown sauce bap! 😀

  • Good start to the weekend! I'm going to watch the video right now, BRB. It never ceases to amaze me how small this tank was. Another great video. Thank you for sharing this build with us. I hope your holidays were awesome! As always, I'm looking forward to the next installment.

    • Good morning Michael, I am glad to be back in my workshop and thank you again for your continued support. Compared to the Tiger and the M26, this tank is a lot smaller, but it is more challenging to build because of the angles. This part was really frustrating and apologies for some poor filming...really difficult to work on both sides of the roof with a fixed camera position as sometimes part of the kit I am working on goes partially out of shot....I need to improve my filming techniques😀 Have a great weekend.

  • Hi, Tony. As you say, Armapax is a wonderful product. However, I haven't gotten it yet because I'm a shy person. If you see a video of it running in your garden, you might be motivated to buy it. I'm looking forward to the next video.

    • Morning Steve....Thank you...Hope all is well with you, I know and you are right, but it really pains me to think about doing that to something that takes so long to build and paint....I am still thinking about it as I have not done that so far and perhaps this is the tank I need to consider doing it to....Watch this space😀

  • Goid job Tony, i am well into my tiger build. It goes soo slow. There is so much to consider, there is so much to paint, you are right,patience is a virtue on a project like this! Happy new year.

    • Hi David and Happy New year to you. Glad to hear that you are well into your build. Did you get a motorcycle jack to help elevate your tank? It really helps, especially when setting the angle on the torsion bars and installing the wheels. Patience, time and space are key on building one of these , but the results are so rewarding. Hope it continues to go well and if I can help at all, please do let me know.

  • Tony: Nice progress and you and I suffer from the same issue, large hands and fingers to hold on to those little nuts and bolts. Good job getting it done.

    @billgunter3484@billgunter34843 ай бұрын
    • Thanks Bill, so you are also in the 'sausage finger' club😂 The angles on this tank are so restrictive I need the 'The Borrowers' to get into😂 A fiddly part of the job, but nothing compared to installing the Glacis plate...video up next week. Have a great weekend.

  • Tony, you may want to correct the gun sight direction. It is looking at the rear of the Hetzer, as can be seen easily by the depression of the lens. Happy new year to you, may many more Armortek builds follow this one! Yours, Thomas from Germany

  • It's coming along well. I had all sorts of trouble with the exhaust pipe as the flexible tube kept buckling which is why I left it off on the end until I fit the smoker. Looking ahead I am curious if you have any alignment issues with the front bracket on the mudguard. Mine didn't line up at all and I needed to drill new holes so I want to see if you get the same or itr was just my hamfistedness. I have the Armorpax MG mount too but it didn't come with any instructions, how complicated was it to put togther? Final question, what battery(ies) are you planning to use?

    @daniel_scholefield@daniel_scholefield3 ай бұрын
    • Hi Daniel, great to hear from you. The tube must have been upgraded as this is made of tough material. I have had a nightmare aligning the entire top hull section. I get the sides aligned perfectly on the back and front but then this pushes the Glacis plate out. If I were to cut anything away the roof would not fit. So, in the end I opted to make sure the top of the Glacis plate and the sides aligned and the roof fits perfectly, however this leaves the bottom of the Glacis plate protruding by 2mm and a gap of the same. I will be mock welding this to close up the gaps. I have probably done something wrong, but for the life of me I could not see where...I just think the Geometry on this is very challenging and you have to compromise somewhere. With regards to front mudguards, I have had to notch out a small area to compensate for the poor alignment of the bottom of the Glacis plate and they fit fine now. I have only test fitted them as I think getting the track on with them in place would be difficult. Is this the case? Batteries: I am going with what Armortek recommend: Yuasa REC14-12 Cyclic VRLA Battery 12V 14Ah. What did you go for? The MG mount from Armorpax only came with basic instructions and I had to rack the old grey matter to work out how it all goes together...If it helps, I can take a picture of this and post it on my community section.

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshop3 ай бұрын
    • @@tonys_workshop I would appreciate the picture as I got nothing with mine. I haven't had the geometry issues with my hull so maybe I got lucky although as I am still fettling mine I haven't secured the roof. You can fit the mudguards and still get the tracks on/off, it's a tight fit over the sprocket but entirely doable. I opted for a single 24v LiPO4 battery for space/weight and battery life after dealing with my Mark IV which had terrible issues with battery life. While the up front cost is much much higher the results so far a very promising and if benefits from far higher cycle life and a much better discharge curve. I was able to run my Hetzer on all three days of Tankfest without recharging and still had 50% showing on the built in meter at the end.

    • Hi Daniel, I have posted some photos of the instructions I received on my Community post which I hope help. They are not the best, but entirely achievable once you lay everything out. I checked out that battery, wow...very expensive....I will think on that but thanks for the heads up. Thanks also for the note on the Mudguards...this gives me confidence to proceed ahead of installing the tracks.

  • Happy new year Tony, hope you had a good one and that did look a bit fiddly on the exhaust, I suppose its slightly harder as you're trying to film so possibly not always building at the easiest angle for you, the tank is looking cracking.

    @WW1Russ8335@WW1Russ83353 ай бұрын
    • Happy New Year to you and your family Russ. Yes trying to film this part is tricky especially when working on both sides of the roof with a fixed camera position. The Geometry of this tank is also a challenge with all of its angles, but I love a challenge. Thanks again for watching, commenting and your continued support.
