Join me as I set off on another epic tank build. This time the incredible 1/6 scale Hetzer or Jagdpanzer 38 tank by Armortek.
In this video - I start the install and assembly of the upper hull section and build up the details on the main Glacis plate including the Gun mount and slew mechanism.
Hope you enjoy

  • Hi Tony. (11:30) Watching Tony skillfully turn the screwdriver with his left hand, I think it's good because it increases work efficiency and stimulates the right side of the brain! I am doing that too. I had a great time this time watching Hetzer's features. I'm really looking forward to the next time.

  • Nicely done Tony, great progress... I'm quite surprised Armortek doesn't team up with Armorpax and pool their efforts into making the tanks 'The Best' out of the box

    • Good morning Martin. Thank you. Yes..it is coming along nicely....still a way to go on this great little kit. I like your thinking although, Armorpax and Armortek do work together and they supply things like the 1/6 scale tools, jack etc on these kits. I guess the upgrades are there to give the builder the choice or not. The parts that Armortek supply are more than adequate to complete the job, but those little upgrades provide us the choice on how we want to finish the model.

  • Big fan of instructions think they should have amendments in for AM parts.Nice to see the sides on the bathtub hull ,not a fan of superglueing metal parts . Looking very nice.

  • I just arrived home from work, got myself an adult beverage, and I'm going to watch your video. Nice way to relax 😊 So I've just finished watching the video, and it's looking amazing! This was obviously relatively speaking, a very small piece of armor. I can't even begin to imagine how the crew operated in such a confined space. Thanks again for sharing your build with all of us. I'm looking forward as always to the next installment. Cheers!

    • Thanks Michael. What a great comment. A crew of three working in close proximity in what essentially was a light armoured ambush tank, would have been a high octane place to operate. Working on the roof section next video and there are more doors on hatches on this than the Tower of London😂

  • Tony: I enjoyed this installment as you mounted the sides, did the front plate and test fit the top. When you are not under time constraint and can take your time, things go easier. Appreciate all the side comments on how it goes together. I just pulled my 1:4 KT out and charging up its batteries and making sure everything is in working order, before i run it out in the yard. I am about to start my 1:4 all metal Tiger 1 build. Machining the entire mantlet, and barrel assembly, including a breech with hydraulic recoil system. Another tank builder in Italy is helping me in the design process so I can feed the CNC Mill to make each part. You are an inspiration, keep it up.

    • Wow Bill, 1:4 scale......wow, wow & wow....Thank you for such amazing comment. The respect is mutual, I can assure you. Would love to see your Tiger 1..Are you going to upload on your channel?

    • Tony: I don't have a channel as I am more machinist gunsmith and build the RC tanks as a hobby, to see if I can do it and make it work. My big issue is finding blueprints to go off from to make my parts. Would love to find actual prints and then downsize them with the right screws, nuts, bolts. I am going to build a full breech for this one. @@tonys_workshop

    • Thank you...yes getting there slowly. I took a while to arrive at this colour scheme and really looking forward to painting the main part of the tank...going to be a challenge as I have never done something like that on this scale.

  • A little fiddly perhaps Tony, but I do enjoy watching a small item take on its' identity as part of the whole. Enjoying the build mate, all the best to you and yours for Christmas.👍

    • Good morning Christopher...A little fiddly on this kit is an understatement😂, especially when you have sausage fingers like me, 😂 I agree entirely with you, those little things add up to really enhance the model. One more video up before Christmas, then back in 2024. Wishing you and yours a very restful and enjoyable Christmas.
