    • @@lpjmodels i can't forget the old one. I was in the model section of the toy shop and I took it to counter and plonked down my handful of notes and coins and the assistant said "this is only £n.nn, it's £." So i hunted through my pocket assuming I'd left the extra 30p or whatever at the bottom but nothing there. At that point in the depth of my despair/embarrassment, the kindly gent said "you can have it for that" and rang up the reduced price on the cash register.

    • Hi Billy I did some hard thinking over this one, there was some discussion on a forum stating that there was a chance the original photo was flipped, so I weighed up my options and your right, after further study and being able to see the horn/headlight peeking over the front plate it is 100% a Г, I went with my gut first time and it was too late to switch it when I took that second look.

      @lpjmodels@lpjmodels3 жыл бұрын
    • @@lpjmodels no problem😄 please keep up the good work sir. One thing I'd like to point out is that the KV-1 wasn't actually a very successful tank variant as the soviets eventually deemed it too expensive for a tank that had the exact same firepower as that of the T34. It was also considered too heavy and slow as it couldn't crooss most bridges most medium tanks could and couldn't run at the speed more that 35km/hour. One obvious thing that made it impervious and superior to the german tanks in the early stage of the Operation Barbarossa was the thickness of its armor, which was difficult to penetrate by the germans' panzer IIIs and IVs not to mention the 38ts, except at point-blank range.

  • Awesome build & video!!! Think your shell impacts on side of turret are fantastic - may just have to try that myself for do want to show battle damage, as well on my kits. Never thought about showing a broken headlight before, think your depiction is the 1st time i have ever seen that. Also, often forget that the Soviets did use camo on their tanks during WWII, just so used to seeing their equipment in that "bland" Soviet green. I actually had just finished building one of Tamiya's ancient 1970s version of the KV-1, for wanted to make a tank that had captured Finnish colours/markings. Then Tamiya comes out with this newly tooled kit. Had NO interest in building this newer version for had already build the older kits numerous times. Watching people build this kit on different sites, so "reluctantly" purchased this kit. GLAD I DID!! This is just an awesome kit and was a joy to build - just need to finish my weathering!!
