    • Even without knowing his story the way he fights makes you a fan. He is a true kill or be killed type of fighter, 44 pro fights and has only gone to decision 4 times. He fights with a lot of pressure and is very aggressive, always marching forwards throwing strikes. He's also active on the ground with great scrambles and always looking for subs from all positions. He's just very entertaining to watch. He's incredibly rough upbringing is actually crazy and just makes his accomplishments even more impressive.

    • @@jaredwood8163 It wouldn't prove he's better than Islam actually, since they'd be 1-1 with each other, and Islam dominated him in the first encounter. At best, he'd only be the better fighter on that night. Khabib will always be the greatest Lightweight of all time and the best until Islam can break the defense record, or Charles can get 3 defenses on his second reign. But considering how competitive Lightweight is, Charles' age and the fact Volk is a looming presence from 145, its unlikely Charles ever surpasses Khabib; he's lost too many times. Its more likely Islam does, because he has youth on his side, he's still 31 after all.

  • Oliveira is my guy. There will never be a guy like him in the sport again. I think he will win the rematch, people seem to overlook that Oliveira had just got LASIK eye surgery and he has gone his entire life without being able to see properly because of his terrible vision. I can imagine being able to suddenly see properly would completely mess with your instincts you’ve built over years of training.

    • It’s only very recently that the UFC have started to realize that throwing these young fighters with tonnes of promise int9 the deep end right away is not the way to go. They need some time to adjust to so many things. I’m not saying they need to feed them cans, but they need to give them time to mature as people and adjust to the level of competition. They’re really not doing extremely talented and young fighters any good by throwing them in too deep too soon.

Charles has still accomplished so much and still considered one of the greats. -He ended Beneils 8 fight winning streak. -One of the best Brazilian title holders In UFC history. Up there with names like Anderson Silva, Jose Aldo, Glover Texeira, etc. -Most submission wins In UFC history at 16. -Most finishes In UFC history at 20. -Holds the record in the lightweight division for the shortest average fight time of 5 minutes and 54 seconds. -Fought and beat killers like Poirer and Gaethje, both former Interim champs. And beat both of them faster than Khabib. Charles Is undoubtedly one of the greatest Lightweights In UFC History, In my opinion. And the dudes story Is absolutely Insane, I'll be rooting for him In his fight against Islam. The champion has a name, and It's Charles Oliveira brader!
