I feel like Sandhagen is about to enter his prime, the Petr and TJ fights have probably taught him so much, he's the type of fighter to learn from losses and bounce back better.
I agree. Idk shit about shit but I’d say once he understands he’s got the target’s number he should put more power into at least half of his output and go for the knockout. He really should have won the TJ fight imo
He better evolve or he will stagnate.
@@poofbah431 I too don’t know shits about shit but fucking sandhagen is a better fighter every time you see him
He needs to up his fight IQ if he wants to reach that next level. One thing I've noticed especially in the TJ fight is the mistakes he made that enabled his opponents to exploit openings which ultimately lead to the fight slipping away from him. I also noticed his corner/coaches aren't the greatest either. If he can make the necessary adjustments, he's a future champion.
@@madgavin7568 well said, you have to be perfect or darn near close, especially against top fighters.
His fight with Yan was the most technical striking battle in UFC history
☝🏽 nobody would disagree if this was brought up, each time someone landed they would land back, such a good fight
Agreed
@@antoniobridgeforth2362 So much layers in this fight. What they were basically doing was countering each other’s anticipated counters
Joana can zhang is fire, the first one
Adesanya vs silva would be my choice, but both are up there
Watching Sandhagen reminds you of the "art" in martial arts. He is so smooth and it looks almost effortless. Watching his fight against Petr Yan was like listening to a classical symphony. He is unpredictable and eloquent, yet precise and focused. A true martial artist
Sandhagen is buttcheeks. More ballerina than badass imo.
Not in his last two fights.
@@GalactusOG go outside
@@GalactusOG He beat TJ and gave Yan his toughest fight other than Aljo.
@@uhneeuhnjee1031 True, But he lost both fights. It's improve or keep losing at this point. IDK why you casuals don't get that but ok.
The guy is so good, fought elite fighters in dillashaw and yan between a 3 months' gap and gave them one of the hardest fights of their life(with arguably beating tj).
I felt he won again TJ
@@Chefgabrielpollow definitely. The judges wrongly gave weight to TJ’s control time when Cory did more damage
I definitely also think he was robbed in the fight against TJ. And yet an inactive, return from suspension TJ doesn't even need to fight again for a title shot.
@@Chefgabrielpollow Yeah, he definitely beat TJ in my books. On damage and on implementation of game plan...
Not really yan soundly trashed him
The amount of diversity he has in his striking arsenal is mind boggling. I truly believe that Sandhagen is a generational talent when it comes to striking. He’s just caught in a tough spot when you have another super talented striker in Petr Yan and a elite grappler in Sterling. I still believe Sandhagen will become champ one day☝️
There is no way that Cory lost that TJ fight. And there is no way that I could be convinced otherwise...
I’ll never forget when Cory yells I’M COMING FOR THAT BELT after the Edgar finish. It was so guttural and emotional you could hear the pain and glory in his voice. Mirror that with Aljamain’s yelling after beating Cory and you can see how much stuff like that stays with Cory. Definitely gonna be more dangerous than ever coming of those two amazing losses. And I say amazing because even though he lost those were some of the best fights in recent memory.
Wish it was Cory versus Sean O Malley. That'd have been a beautiful fight
@@maltheri9833 agreed! Although i think it will still happen in the future. Too good of a fight now to do it.
One day we are going to get Sandhagen vs O’Malley; and that is the day we will be blessed with a masterpiece.
Cory said he likes that fight too. Enjoys Sean being tall and lengthy. He knows that's a huge fight
No disrespect to Sean, but Cory would TKO him in the first round
@@juliodanielinsfran154 that’s disrespectful
Suga will not hang with this level of the game . I think 🤔
I feel like cory would body him
Movement based fighters are my favorite genre of fighters. Gane, wonderboy, cruz ,ali , pernell Whittaker, tj , Willie pep , Tyson exc
Movement turns violence into art.
You forgot tony
You mentioned Whittaker & left Izzy. 🤔
@@bonnymathebula007 he said Parnell Whittaker not Robert Whittaker lol
@@bonnymathebula007 if you don't know about pernell Whitaker look him up. Izzy had great movement in kickboxing. Now he's more reserved
I realize that name dropping in a KZhead comment section is cheesy, but I am proud to call Cory a good friend. He fights just like he thinks. About everything. Hard to quantify what I’m saying, but basically he’s like an artist and an engineer rolled into one. Flow and fluidity, creativity, etc. but coupled with purposeful strategy, anticipation, downloading, setups, etc. The best of both worlds. Plus… He’s one of the most measured and thoughtful dudes I’ve ever met. He reads voraciously, is constantly wandering around in the mountains alone, and studies fighting like a true obsessive. Talking to him the other day about his next scrap with Song, he said “I can’t wait to show how much better I’ve gotten. The learning never stops in this sport. It’s crazy”.
bollocks
@@paulcullen7794 what makes you say that, stranger on KZhead?
sounds like a nice dude
From where did you meet him ?
@@crazypato3752probably from the same gym
You can see how influenced he is by Cruz s style as he himself has stated and you can see how much Cruz likes analyzing his fights. Love this duo
in my opinion he is really one of the most skilled fighters on the whole ufc roster
Man I love watching Cory fight. He climbed up my favorite list really fast. Dude is so fun, so tough, so game. Can't wait to see Cory vs Sean some day. 2 big long guys at 35. Hell I'll watch him fight anyone at this point idc
This comment aged like fine wine. A fight between them now is my dream
The way he handled the armbar is miraculous
He’s lucky the other dude showed mercy. Could’ve easily broke his arm and won the fight
the peter yan fight was a beautiful display of high level striking and accuracy from both
His fight with petr yan is still my favorite fight of all time. It’s the pinnacle of MMA striking in my opinion
Hands down my favorite fighter. Seems like a great dude too. Thank you so much for doing a video on him!
The way Cory throws that flying knee so effortlessly is extremely impressive.
Loved his fight with yan, super technical war. I feel like he still has to be careful with song though because he has pretty explosive power. Also his fight with Arnett looked like Sandhagen vs Cory.
Lol when they cut to different parts of that Arnett fight it took me a few secs to find Cory again
@6.15 the deathground elbow from Alcantra. A wounded animal is a dangerous one. Everything (or nothing) to lose. Beautifully evaded by Sandhagen.
Lead body hook to leg kick is so clean
Please upload a length video of Barboza's dangerous strikes (kicks)..In my opinion he is an underappreciated fighter.. Very soon maybe he will retire let's show respect for legends❤️
I love how Sandhagen's corner celebrates his every victory, big and small throughout the fight. Those cheers are so supportive for him to do more and so demoralizing and distracting for his opponents. It's beautiful.
Cory really got fucked in that fight against TJ! That was terrible old school judging awarding holding against the cage instead of damage. TJs face was trashed, knee injured, it was a gutsy performance but he should’ve lost without question. I really hope Aljo beats TJ because he doesn’t deserve a title shot. Cory’s next fight is tough, Song is fast and has a lot of power but I think Cory can take it. Should be very entertaining!
I'd really like to see him go at it against Suga Show
Not only one of the most entertaining fighters of all time, but such a legend too
Da sandman ⏳🇺🇲 vs chito vera 👊🏻🇪🇨 would be an insane battle. At least for me in that top 5 cory is chito's most difficult fight now
Chito gets smoked by anyone ranked above him
@@goldtiger9453 i doubt that, i could see him rocking Tj for the majority of their fight.
Chito would fucking bash sandhagen. The guy has 0 power
@@bigboy1295 0 power? Crack is a helluva drug
Sandhagen vs o’malley would be very interesting fight. Both have very long reach in the weight class and uniqe striking🤘🏼
Cory's a legit good guy and a very legit great fighter, shows great humility in winning or loss..a representation of how a martial artist should conduct themselves.
I’d really like to see this guy snatch up the belt. He’s so damn good!
that tj dillashaw rob is one of the craziest robs i've ever seen damn near about to cry lmao
Thanks for making a video about the sandman this guy is great
Sandhagen is a fighter you show someone to make them a fan of fighting
Dude the way you narrate and cut and edit the videos with interviews. Immediately subscribed.
Great video my man, thanks for the awesome content 👍
Superb compilation and spot-on analysis. BIG thumbs UP, Liam - enjoyed every minute.
Love seeing him survive that crazy arm bar early on... Thanks so much i forgot alot of these fights so it was a treat watching these
my number one favorite UFC fighter by far. and arguably the most exciting to watch as well. Sandman v Song will be an absolute banger
Your channel is a blessing
Cory learned a very valuable lesson in 5 round fights when he fought Yan!
the documentation of these videos man. lovei t
I never know what to expect from this channel but i am never disappointed !
I'm soooo excited for his bout with Song Yadong
My favorite fighter. Been waiting for this one for a while
Grat Content👍🏻 thank your for your work Please make a video about Petr Yan, after his fight against Sean
Great video on one of my favorite fighters I’m happy Cory is getting the recognition he deserves his striking & style is a treat to watch always , future champ 100%
Moves like water, Iron chin, solid takedown defense, crisp counters with smooth and dangerous striking. Theres truly no other fighter like The Sandman. I can see him becoming champion
What about O'Malley?
Great vídeo 👍💯
What a great video this was, felt like i was watching a documentary
If I can fight like a someone it would be sandhagen
Fantastic stuff!!
Been on the wrong end of a few close decisions against the absolute best of bantamweights. Cory is a true dark horse and a savant in every aspect of fighting. Him and petr are the very definition of strikers even though they seem to be complete opposite on their schools of thought and their fight showed. Probably one of the most technically impressive fights ever
Sandhagen Vs O Malley would be such a great fight, their styles really match up perfectly
He's so underrated so I'm glad to see the love here, it's a nice change. Definitely see him as the future champ! ✊🏼
Excellente video, excellent work
I've never been one to call a fight rigged or call favouritism but when you see the side by side of Cory and TJ at the end of that fight especially after watching the entire scrap, there was absolutely no way you could ever say TJ won that. Cory looks like he just hoped off a treadmill where TJ looked like he tried to kiss oncoming traffic.
They must've given him a lot of points for control time
He hits a lot harder then it seems. The refs early in his career let fights go too long allowing him to really brutally maul his opponents. They didn’t respect his power being a little skinny dude A lot of those stoppages could have happened a whole round sooner
@@ab-ix7gn you mean the people with Broken ribs and their faces cut to ribbons?
It's not that he hits hard, it's the timing when the shot lands.. it's second to none.
@@ab-ix7gn he damages all his opponents faces like crazy.
@@ab-ix7gn he clearly hits hard you can see him completely stunning his opponents over and over again giving them that dazed almost lights off look. I think he could knock people out but he's not constantly throwing weight haymakers.

i love these videos so much
Really enjoyed this
Nice video. Absolutely one of my favourite fighters for his fluidity between just about any movements or where the fight goes.
Beautiful video
One of my favorite fighters forsure , his movement looks so perfect
great video on my favorite ufc fighter
great vedio as always😍😍😍
He’s an amazing fighter and gonna be an amazing coach one day as well!
BReakdowns are great really appreciate ya
Cory vs suga would be one of the most entertaining fights in ufc history. Both fighters have a smooth unpredictable Repertoire of strikes
dream fight
Sterling choking out sandhegan really shows how good his grappling is…I was upset when sandhegan got choked out but gotta give credit to sterling for it
this vids are always so fire
Great video
Ok but how is he not walking out to “Enter Sandman”
I know right
One of my favorites to watch
“I’ve been working on my takedown and submission defense” is what they were hoping to hear
Just made my day
Cory vs O Malley would be a perfect showcase for both right now.
That submission he got out of at 5:20 is something else
Wow! Great athlete ... Cory. More power. God bless!
Cory vs Yan is one of the most beautiful fights ever as far as their skill and technique.
here watching this at 1 am before his fight against rob font lmfao. Hopefully we get another masterclass showing of his striking to continue this video
So fluent with his movement, literally a symphony violence.
I love this content
Well done..no crap music...thorough research...ty Subbing 😂❤
most exciting striker to watch in the ufc in my opinion
he reminds me a lot of dominick cruz especially in that poster in his fight vs yan
Cory vs Sean would be a very fun fight
5:50 the way the blood is just spattering up his arm is insane .
I didn't know who Cory was until his fight with Petr. That fight put a mark as one of UFC's best fights ever in history. Yan is a top-tier striker and Cory fought him with equal greatness. Cory instantly made me a fan of him. Guy is elite.
Did you just start watching or something ?
@@goldenduck6109 , are you unloved by your parents that you seek attention?
Sandhagens striking is just beautiful to watch
Cory vs sugar Sean is going to be an exciting match up. Sooner or later it’s coming
Sandhagen is so sick bro I watched his fight against Yan probably 4 or 5 times
Fantastic!
Can We Get A Song Young Dong Video💯 My 2 Favorite Bantamweights Put On A Master Class
Such an unassuming man. What a beast.
I feel grateful to exist at the same time as this current bantamweight division
He gives me Carlos Condit vibes
That sandhagen Vs yan fight was so fun to watch
I find it bizarre that during the recap of the TJ fight, there is a complete absence of commentary or footage on when sandhagen popped out TJ's knee and the ensuing difficulties that it was causing him for the rest of the fight. I'm usually those to ascribe motive, but this is the closest I've ever come to calling a fight at robbery, and even the footage of its the true telling of the tale. Oh well I still believe in the sandman
That armbar was so nasty but it shows he has had heart for as long as he's been fighting
sanhagen edgar knock out so perfect
When it switched back to a replay at 6:43, I thought the ref had started beating on the guy too
