Kinda funny how Jon Jones was studying Criminal Justice in school, and then when he dropped out he began committing as many driving crimes imaginable lol

Jones doesn’t get enough credit for how he approached that second Gus fight. Jones had such a hard time taking Gus down their first fight so he beat up Gus’ legs so bad he couldn’t stop the takedown. It was brilliant.
He will target your strongest parts and just continue to add damage to them so that the strikes won’t be as powerful! He’s Albert Einstein of mma!!
i'm convinced nobody is better at a rematch than jones. i know it's a small sample size and one is now a NC but man he really puts emphasis on it. i wish he rematched reyes, judging by his career path after fighting jones, i can't help but think he might have really put it on him. who knows though
He literally destroyed Gus in the second fight.

@Rascal Nikov47 pictograms doesn't do shit.
1. Long body. You can't hit him. He can hit you. 2. Excellent fight iq. Transitions are unary. And he switches often. Fighters get trapped between fighting logics. 3. He throws attacks with real menace. Everything is designed to hurt. 4. He's actually rather big and strong for having such length. If you look at his upper back you can see its actually rather thick. This means he can overpower especially when combining natural leverage. Conclusion: gifted.

The fact the Bonnar went the distance with prime Jon Jones really shows his heart. Poor guy took so much trauma in his career.
I wouldn’t consider his second ufc fight his prime, but I agree Bonnar was an amazing fighter who never quit
Bonnar was the definition of heart!! But he fought a far from 'prime' Bones when Jon was 22 years old and on his 8th MMA fight... 2nd fight in the UFC.. Bonnar was 32 (prime years for an MMA athlete) and on his 17th MMA fight (thank you Wikipedia) and got smashed for 3 rounds!! He was lucky he got him then and not 24 months later... Bonnar was a savage in the cage and his heart for war was something you're born with, so much respect for that guy!!

@@atb_ty8785 what he does inside the cage speaks volumes of the type of athlete we’re witnessing in our lifetime. What he does outside the cage speaks volumes of his character and personality. Unfortunately, Jon Jones isn’t that great of a guy and guess what? Neither was mike Tyson when he was younger. I think if Jon Jones were to have a sincere turnaround like Mike Tyson (obviously there would be a ton of skepticism at first) he might regain some old fans and show that people can change. It's crazy that even with his insane reach Jon's elbows are the most dangerous part of his game. Most of the finishing sequences or big moments of the fights comes off these spinning and guard splitting elbows
cuz people are always trying to get in close and when he does clinch coz his limbs are so long he can get more power and leverage with his elbows and knees than throwing punches or kicks
I believe his most dangerous weapons are the finger jab/spear jab and oblique kicks. Both are Wing Chun/JKD techniques because Jones is a Jeet Kune Do fighter. The main reason many fighters want to close the distance when boxing Jones are because of these two techniques. Bruce Lee would of used these two techniques as well. So I guess Bruce Lee would of been a dirty fighter too huh?! Or could it be that he may have been too dangerous for the sport?! Jones is the living proof of Bruce Lee's philosophy of Jeet Kune Do
@@amo5743 those are some good points. Still, people with huge reach like jones don't make as good use of their elbows as he does. Reyes, Gustafson, Pavlovich, Izzy, and periera all have long ass reach and hardly use elbows.

His limps are sooo freakishly long. He can just leap in with his elbows n catch his opponents before his opponents can react. Maybe it's the age experience but he now stays mainly on the outside content with being in a place where opponents can't touch him.

I don't think anyone but old-school hardcore MMA fans can fully appreciate Jones' career. Bonnar, Bader, Rua?! He easily dispatched some of the most impressive athletes in the space. Quickly, and with ease. Also, one of the first people I saw master a technique I thought I had invented in 2003 -- the "Ninja Choke". Still not used often enough.

@Anth Romer If Jones dominates at HW too then he definitely will achieve GOAT status over Khabib. Khabib also had quite a padded record whereas every one of Jones wins has come against top guys, the man was beating the shit out of legends at the age of 24.

As someone who's been following MMA for around 2 years, it has been a time of following mostly lightweights, so most fights I've watched are from that division. I find the higher you go in division, the less fluid and tacnical fighters are. But watching this video it's just unbelievable to me how Jon jones can move like this. His IQ and fluidity makes even Khabib looks stiff to me incomparison. For the short time I've been following this sport, I've never seen this level of creativity in any fighter in any weight class. And after the Gane fight, I can see why he's the Goat. Cyril Gane was the evolution of Heavyweights and Jones ended him in 2 minutes. Unbelievable.
Gane has no ground game. It's easy to understand why Jones won that fight. Gane didn't even try to defend that choke.
