    • 6 months 2 hrs a day is all it takes for basic round/ side kicks. Even spinning back kicks to the body arent too bad to get to a functional level. When it becomes difficult and takes more time is with hook kicks, tornado kicks, and spinning back kicks to the head. The last three require vastly more experience and training to even fire accurately let alone to time them properly. Your looking at 1 or 2 years till you get fluent with them.

  • I'll never forget Jon Jones when he was on the come up. My dad and I didn't really have a lot in common or spend a lot of time together when I was growing up. One thing we bonded over was our love for UFC, Boxing and other combat sports. I was a really good amateur boxer and he was a very good wrestler in his day so we both liked the UFC and Boxing. We would bet $20 a fight normally and we'd order the PPV and order Pizza for dinner. Such great memories cause I didn't spend a whole lot of time with him in those days. I remember my dad doubting Jon Jones, I took him against I believe it was Ryan Bader. My dad took Bader and lost. Next fight against Shogun he bet me again and I won. Next fight against Rampage Jackson my dad was all-in on Rampage and bet me $50 and I won that one too. He was even more convinced that Machida was going to beat him but I told him "Dad stop betting against him, I don't want to keep taking your money just admit that he's amazing and he's going to become the champion" and sure enough he did. Finally after how dominating he was against Machida and Belfort he admitted that he was wrong and that Jon Jones was the real deal. Really unfortunate what happened to his career and all the issues outside of the octagon but inside of it, I don't think there has been a more dominant fighter than him.

  • I'm not a Jones fan I honestly don't like him but I am an MMA fan and he's just the best ever to do it. It's a shame he's lost time in his prime do to his issues. No one stays young forever and it's a shame to not see him have a career like Anderson Silva who just stayed in top so long. Hope he's got more left in the tank.
