The Tragic DOWNFALL Of Jorge Masvidal
Resurrection Pt 2 or The End at UFC 287?
Def the end
Gilbert is a stylistic nightmare for him, as he’s very good at wrestling and actually presents a submission threat unlike his last 2 opponents as a 2 time world champion in BJJ. But of course, that’s not his only problem to look at in him as his striking has always been very good. Burns by sub and Masvidal leaves.
Give Jorge Till and Nate again, we will again see a "resurrection". It is not a coincidence that he started losing as the competition got harder. Jorge is who he is, a level below the championship level, no amount of rebranding will change that.
can only get resurrected once
@@bon_grippah says who?
Nothing tragic...the game is the game. Jorge made it to a level where many only dream of, but it lasts only so long.
Anyone that thinks Jorge is overrated knows nothing about fighting. W-L record only tells a fraction of the story
@@DaileyShortsSome of his losses are close decision losses. His record doesn’t do justice, he’s as GAME as they come, he shows up to FIGHT!
Well deserved
Mas is a great fight but we honestly did overvalue his wins against till, nate and, Ben. None of those wins deserve a guaranteed shot at 5th ranked guy
I disagree yes the game is the game BUT you last so long as you don’t self destruct, masvidal self destruct himself just like Conner, he wasn’t able to hold his ego down
Nothing was tragic. He gave us 20 years of fights. Fighters barely reach 5. He gave us great moments and retiring with a positive record.
He got knock tf out, that bum got humbled.
4 straight loss this guy is a joke.
@arcaneisboring7675 it's ez to count on someone's losses when you have no victory yourself.
well said 💯
Positive record, yes. But 17 losses is _a lot._ Hurts the pride and the brain.
No tragedy at all, my man's a success story if I've ever seen one. No shame in losing a few to best in the world. Life has its ups and downs. Coming up from brawling in backyards to being a multi millionaire ain't too shabby, brato. Count your blessings.
Honestly man nobody stays at the top of the ufc food chain for long I don’t understand how losing 2 fights when your 38 years old is considered a “tragic downfall” seems like Jorge pinched a lot of these fans nerves
@Dollar Duke it's his popularity that's the downfall not so much the losses. He was never a top 5 just a fan favorite
Pretty much on point 👏 glad to see that part of MMA fans are humans with brains.
It's a tragedy that it culminated in his assaulting someone and losing every bit of his future from here? Fuck that "it's been fun shit," people can usually improve. And from assault/losing your fans when the UFC was literally inventing belts for you? That's a big one
Doesn't matter who he lost to matters how he cared himself and how his journey ended. His down was infinitely worse than his up which is a tragic downfall. Just stop coping
It's crazy how much the year 2019 changed how people see him
that year of his eluded many ppl
All the fake fans comes back if he wins this week
Its because of the influx of new fans from that time, anyone that has watched since 2012 or before knows hes a bum journeyman
69 likes imma change that
KeshVlog the guy was a boring, split decision fighter most of his careet until 2019....
It's not his downfall, he's always been like this.
SHUT UP
Dudes trya bank off the hype train Choo Chooooo
Not true he hasn’t ever been knocked out before he is not the same.
💯
He LITERALLY has a BUSINESS. I want to have DOWNFALL IF IT MEANS I OWN A BOXING PROMOTION
Bruh literally just started Gamebred Boxing, he might have his downfall as a fighter but on a business standpoint he's just getting started. Great video as always TFB. Still rooting for gamebred tho, but Burns is a fvckin beast too.
“Downfall” is an outrageously kind description, guy got two fluke kos and dined on it for 5 years
The man accomplished what some can only dream about. Keep on going Jorge

He was a journeyman at best

Say what you will but the dude is winning at life. He’s able to feed his family for the rest of their lives. He’s a true warrior regardless of rank or status hype or not. Respect Gamebred
One of the realest among active fighters. Hopefully he will make a comeback, he deserves it.
I hope he trained HARD for this fight.
he retired last night
💀💀💀
Lol “real fighters” sneak up from behind their former best friends and punch them in the side of the face. Yes very real.
Not tragic at all. Any MMA fan that's been watching longer than yesterday, knew that Jorge is a journeyman who isn't championship caliber.
I think Jorge gets more credit than he ever deserved, but at the same time the dude has lost 3 to the pfp #1 at the time and to the division’s highest ranked person and people wanna act like he is losing to bums or something
No, that's just what we refer to when we talk about most of his career. He was nothing more than a journeyman who got one lucky knockout.
@@bwhere45 bad take
@@bwhere45very bad take
@@OoLiiMiiT3D How is it a bad take? Masvidal is 7-7 at WW in the UFC. Does that sound like a title contender to you? He hasn’t performed very well at WW in general, not just against Usman and Colby
@@benlewis5312thats barely half of his fights he has also fought in OTHER weight classes. And there's a difference between fighters and mixed martial artists. Jorge has beaten some killers that would not be possible for a journeyman... he has mental issues that kept him from the top as well. It is an UNINFORMED take... if bad doesn't work for ya.

At least he has achieved something in his life, unlike you.

Man has received some of the biggest paychecks while not having the belt he’ll be alright
Love ur videos man. Such top tier quality content. Keep it up 🎉❤
Personally I feel like Jorge is immune to "The Fall" as the man has been trying to rise since 2003
He’s risen since then, look how SUCCESSFUL he’s become. Sure, maybe he’s lost a few fights, we all lose, in life, he’s on top of the world. I like both guys but Jorge on 🔝 ᴏғ ᴛʜᴇ 🌎
@ROCKY I mean for all intents and purposesays jorge was not supposed to be here....I remember in the KZhead days seeing his 2 fights with Ray and my first time seeing him fight was that the Strikeforce Playboy mansion card. He was a crowd favorite mid carder for a majority of his career....yeah he would challenge for the Strikeforce belt at one point but he was still destined for mid card for life. Fans like me always hoping he got a chance Then our time came almost came in 2017 when he fought Damein Maia in a title eliminator...then another 2 years he walks aways for a year and a half and KOs Till and then out of no where his time for Super Stardom came in 5 seconds. Yeah he may never win the belt but dammit he got his flowers finally
Guess that’s good at losing ig.. *sigh*
@@A_Valeska It depends on how you work at it....
its crazy to go from getting the KO of the year to being the KO of the year
He’s made it. street fighting kid who has a club in Miami and is world renowned . Win or lose he’s made it
So his downfall was that he is not as talented as the best in his division? Masvidal at his best was always levels below championship level. I don't see this as a downfall, more like a level check.
People seem to think everyone has to be a champ to be talented. They often forgot it’s the good/great fighters that make the UFC run. Very few become champs.
@@OhKee12 There is an interesting bit of social commentary in this. If you don't make 100k a year you're a bum, if you're not in peak physical condition year round then you're seen as unimpressive, if you don't have multiple degrees and 150 IQ then you're unintelligent, and so on. Most people will fall within the middle of any bell curve. Yet, the "social media" era has us all hyperfocused on the upper echelon in all categories. As a consequence the average or above average people are often undervalued.
Your vids are as good as countdown man. I'm hyped for this weekend. Appreciate the quality you put out. It's interesting to see fighters go through their ebbs and flows. Similar to the average man going through life. If gamebred gets through burns, imagine how epic it would be to baptize Colby for good. Dreamers dream I guess lol, fun watching your vids 💯
My new favorite channel! Keep up the great work!
Brilliant bro..thank's
Great video man . Definitely agree with that you said .
This fighting business should be 1m subs deserve to be all ur post is 🔥🔥🔥 job well done✅
There was never a rise to begin with. He won 3 fights vs an old, mid tier Nate Diaz, an eventual roster cut in Ben Askren and having notched his only real impressive win in Darren Till (who was looking good at the time) isn’t really a rise worth noting. He was never championship caliber and Kamaru Usman showed us exactly why on separate occasions. This isn’t an attack on him either, I’m just pointing out why I believe he’s overrated.
Jorge via KO/TKO vs Gilbert this weekend is a +725 dog/longshot method of victory DK bet. For those odds, a small bet is in order here.
That Ben Askren knockout gave his stock a huge boost, but look at the rest of his fights...he has not shown much since 2017
Come on. He beat the brakes off nate
@@arnoldkwenda4678 that fight ended in bogus doctor stopped for cut by Nates eye. Masvidal didn't finish Nate and that was a 5 round fight, so there were 2 full rounds left. Not an impressive win to me.
@@arnoldkwenda4678 Beating Nate diaz ain’t really a huge accomplishment 😂
@@alwaysrecycles365 nate was getting bullied and no way he'd win. Both of them are bums, but nate is smaller and physically weaker.
@@robot9071 you're saying that no way Nate Diaz could have come on strong in the later rounds? Is he not one of the fighters best known for their durability? You may want to watch the 5th round of Nate v Leon Edwards bc he nearly slept Leon and that was after 4 hard rounds. Leon is the champ and Nate went the distance with him...but you think Nate had zero chance of beating Masvidal after 3 rounds and a doctor stoppage? 3 rounds is only 60% of the fight and Nate looked very ready to continue against Jorge so I don't think there was a definitive winner at all.
The problem is that Jorge was always good. Maybe even great. But he was never ELITE. When you're not elite, you get exposed when you make it to the top. He was never on the level of the guys at the top. Sometimes that's just how it goes.
I agree. But even good/great fighters are needed. Few will ever be elite.
Great video as always TFB
I love your channel bro. U have a bright future ahead of u
Can’t believe Joe Rogan said Masvidal would beat GSP🤦♂️

Colby also got beat twice. That weight class is just stacked with the best. Even usman lost twice now. It’s crazy 😅
the thing is, Colby doesn't look like he's affected badly to his two losses against Usman because of how he performed in both fights and it seems that only father time can beat Covington. Usman's shot knees, extreme weight cutting, and fighters who are already ready for his style finally caught up to Usman. Covington seems to improve day by day and he's not cutting a lot of weight.
I don't understand why some UFC fans hate him for no reason he doesn't do nothing. .he's just being himself
Good vid !
Great job guys!!
It’s crazy how Joe watched some of Jorge’s early fights and then wants to act like if he was around during gsps era he would be a problem for everyone. Cuz he was around then and he was nothing more than a journeyman.
Rogan is full of shit with his revisionist history most of the time
Exactly.
First time saw him at kimbo slice street fights and quickly searched for him because I saw a champion there...
Love this guys vids
Dude Jorge is the definition of hype
Man has had an incredible career even before his resurrection u casual
Pride and Arrogance lead to his downfall. His greatest gift in the adoren fight turned into his nightmare
That flying knee was the top of his carreer, and popularity. Since then only loss after loss.
To colby and usman the top of the division
Well done my friend 😊
His real fans never left 💪.
Too bad man for real. Great fighters can take great falls
Jorges hair line really said bye
Yo please bro tell me the name of the beats that play up during the street fights in this video
Colby saying anywhere anytime no matter where we're at is hilarious
I wouldn't call it a downfall yet, if masvidal beat burns then even dana considered him for title shot after leon colby fight
They love you when your winning and on your way to the top. They hate you when you begin to struggle and fall from grace. If GameBred wins this weekend in amazing fashion everyone will be calling for him to get a tittle shot against Leon.
Guess Jorge hasn’t been praying hard enough his last three fights

I don't care about his downfall his rise was inspiring he is truly one of the most inspirational MMA fighter.. from being a street fighter to becoming one of the most loved and popular MMA fighter love him or hate him you gotta admire his growth after all he is a great man ❤ the way he slept Ben askren will be remembered forever.
💯
He been competing for over 20 years with over 50 fights and he’s called time on a great career after losing to Burns, but he’ll be remembered as one of the all time greats.
Bro he rose hes a multi- millionare & fought @ ufc for the 1st ti.e 20yrs ago!
The life of this man is nothing less than inspiring and it sucks he went out the way he did but its the fight business and hes not the first great fighter to have a downfall like this
He never made the rank of being a great fighter. A great personality maybe, but only a good fighter
Masvidal used to be one of my favorite fighters. He hated trashtalk and came out to starch fools. I've liked him since he broke Jake Ellenburger and I called the Cowboy fight over my friend who had been a longer MMA fan than me at the time. It felt good to be right, but I loved that fight. I hate to say it, but Ben Askren ruined his career. Before you say it, yes I'm aware that he launched into superstardom and made HUGE bank. However, I meant it ruined his career in terms of mentality, being honest with himself and his skills, and worse he started to trashtalk more than anyone else. He became the very thing he hated. Now, he's becoming what his critics and rivals call him. A loud mouthed, delusional journeyman. Gilbert and RDA are the real "BMFs".
I forgot that he fought Edwards pretty cool he shouted him out at the press conference yesterday!!
watching from Grenada in the Caribbean
Love You
Who's here after masvidal had that shouting match with Kevin Holland
I remember when you had 11k subs, man keto doing your thing bro. Much love
Jorge has made some mistakes. And he admits it, in his own round-about way. He's working hard to get things back on track. I'd preffer he not attack people randomly in public again - but aside from that - I'm a fan. There is something fascinating about a backyard brawler from the flip phone era who legit became one of the best fighters in the UFC. You'd expect someone like that to have some flaws. I'm a fan.
Hahahah no he doesn’t.. he says he’s going to knock Colby’s teeth out still. I used to love Jorge until he did what he did to colby. That’s extremely fucked up
if he would have had some humble pie after the lucky knee, he could have gotten the strap at some point. His dumb ego got to him quickly and left him on a losing streak and lastly retiring after saturday. Kind of sad actually.
The way this man said Icarus really pissed me off. 🤣 Eyecarus!😂
Masvidal u are my all-time favourite fighter. U are my wingman for life! People will remember you and your path to greatness!
I wouldn't view losing to the champ and the nr.1 contender as being "tragic". I would have loved to see hime become UFC champion, as I think he has earned it in every single way. For me he is a champion, and there is nothing anyone can say to change that. I shed a tear this weekend, not because he lost, but because he steps away from something he dearly loved and because I will never see him compete again. Will rewatch most of his fights though. always learned a lot from watching him and was able to use some of it during my own training and competition. Happy retirement to him.
He’s not even close to all time great Had a one year run
Jorge had an incredible career turn around towards the end of it. He was very much an average journeyman fighter before his move to ww.
All he had to do was stay humble. Yes have an air of confidence about your self but never walk around like you're untouchable.
We might say that his fighting career is starting to fall but he is still doing great business with ufc creating a boxing promotion called Gamebred Promotion🔥🔥👍🏼
He’s not the hungry Masvidal anymore that everybody grew up watching, he honestly made it… got out of the hood, provided money and food for his kids lived in a mansion, got sponsored and had his few years of fame. It ain’t the same no more he lacks goals and direction just like Conor.
Wouldn't say he's most hated, not even close to it. People are just done with his bs
Idk if it’s really a downfall tbh, up until 2019 he was pretty much always a mid card fighter. Expectations just went crazy for him after he killed Askren in like 3 seconds. Probably could make a case for the classic game cover curse tho as he’s 1-4 since UFC 4 released lol. Also seems fair to point out him being nearly 40, he’s far past his prime, so a string of losses before his eventual retirement is sadly the norm for most.
Great storytelling
This is THE content
Hoping Gamebred comes back. Once the Colby sitch is settled. The Leon fight still so huge.
He made it way higher than his talent should have let him so seems like a huge success story from his perspective.

I always found it hard to not like this guy and Izzy. I’m happy Izzy redeemed himself I’m also happy Masvidal called it a career before his health could make the choice for him. He gave us a pretty dope highlight for the history books vs Askren
I watched his career before he joined the ufc. Him, Eddie Alvarez and Gilbert Melendez were the ones true hardcore fans knew belong in the ufc. We were so happy when Jorge got his recognition. Now it’s so hard to be a fan of this guy. Had a chance to beat a rival face to face but he had to wear a mask like a punk. You can’t respect that
You no need to be his fan his real loyal fans we are there for him😂 I became more fan of him for taking Colby's teeth and I 100% know you aren't a Masvidal fan but still good try
@@goat7728 so you are saying you need to be a mindless person in order to be a fan? Him being a coward and wearing a mask is ok because you’re a fan? So you’re saying be a sheep and follow people no matter what dumb decision they do. 🐑
