  • Tony ferguson passing the torch to oliveira was one of the saddest things I've ever seen, but the silver lining is charles is so exciting his last 2 fights have been crazy can't wait for him vs gaethje that's gonna be a very violent fight Update: charles oliveira did fight justin gaethje and what an incredible fight best 3mins of violence you'll see charles is truly something special

      @resener3040@resener30402 жыл бұрын
    • I think its time to face reality that Tony will never make another run for the title, especially against all these up and coming grapplers. He's just too old and to make matters worse; gun-shy now, which is a far cry from the El Cucuy we all knew and loved. All he has left is toughness and cardio, everything else is gone other than his personality.

I’m guessing you have formed this opinion bc of his last 3 fights and he’s now 36 years old! This is absolutely absurd! I say this respectfully! From a MMA Junkie super fan to a casual I guess!

    • I’m so happy to have witnessed GSP, Conor, Anderson Silva, and Aldo rise from the bottom. I’m also happy to have been able to go back and watch the early days of the UFC. And I feel so blessed to continue experiencing many new prospects currently in their prime. Lastly, we just can’t ignore Tony Ferguson’s crazy streak. Even though he’s been on a losing streak, those were pretty impressive in hindsight given that Oliveira, Benny, and Gaethje are the best in their division. Tony might not be in his prime anymore but I think he’s still super dangerous.

  • I wonder how much further things can possibly progress in the sport. Twenty years from now, will there still be a Khabib type that just dominates everyone? And if so, what kind of freak of nature and circumstances would that guy have to be? As far as winning 12 in a row with the majority of them being battles of attrition like how Tony did, I don't think anyone will ever be able to replicate that kind of consistency again. Oh well, every era has its own charm. It isn't fair to compare one to another too much.
