  • Dana made the UFC what it is today, and brought the company up to where it is now. But he clearly has favorites, holds grudges, and underpays his fighters. You can’t challenge him, and if you do he will only tolerate you if you bring in money. You can tell by the match making.

    • What's more, if you're on Dana White's bad side once you leave the company it will be like you vanished off the face of the earth, even if you're a star, former champion and legend. The company will bury you. Frank Shamrock is still not in the HOF despite what he did for the UFC and MMA as a whole, Randy Couture is not given the respect he's entitled to and if Dana had his way Randy would have been quietly removed from the HOF, there's no mention of Anthony Pettis or Benson Henderson anymore, there hasn't been a whisper of Demetrious Johnson since he was traded to ONE. And I have no doubt the UFC will bury Francis Ngannou once he leaves as well.

    • Well, he didn't gas out, but he definitely bitched out! I firmly believe that he purposely didn't cut the weight because he was afraid it would cause him cardio issues and everyone kept saying that Nate's only chance was to survive to the later rounds and take advantage of cum-stain's lack of cardio. I'm sure he thought that he could not cut the weight, so that he could increase his cardio and thought that Nate would still take the fight. That would have been stupid. He's a cheater and a loser and I'm glad he lost a lot of fans because of that little stunt...

  • In fairness to the Diaz vs Chimaev matchup, Diaz was the one who called for it. Its him who cares more about the paycheque than legacy at this point, hence why he keeps roadblocking any matchup that isn’t a money fight then demanding to be released from his contract. In the meantime, Khamzat kind of has nothing on his calendar right now until Edwards and Usman meet in the cage since Covington refused the fight. Its a fight that serves to keep Khamzat active while also giving him a big name to add to his record in preparation for title contention

    @ethanquirk28@ethanquirk28 Жыл бұрын
  • That’s wild I never thought about it like that. I never thought of it as the UFC was “feeding him to the Big Bad Chechen Wolf” because Nate was the one that CHOSE Khamzat Chimaev to fight. I use to think that Nate was choosing the fights he was fighting strategically because he thought that he could win for whatever reason, like that’s why he chose Leon Edwards. But now I am 100% firmly on the side of that Nate Diaz really does pick people that he thinks are the hardest fights and the toughest in the division. He is FEARLESS… NOT intelligent… lmao

Only the champs in boxing get those really heavy paydays. Prelim boxers get waay less then prelim UFC fighters. The only thing i wish was that they could have their own sponsors. Sure if everyone use venom trunks, but they should still be able to have their on sponsors on them.

Recently noted, the BMF belt which would’ve been a great concept for St.Pierre/Silva. His only legitimate issue being they weren’t self-promoters to grow a fight like Chael Sonnen or Josh Koscheck.

  • Same thing with the now indefinitely delayed Miocic vs Jones. Jones out for the forseeable future, 19 months. Stipe will be closer to 43 than 42, and Tom Aspinall might not be able to hold onto the interim belt.

  • Bisping was a tough veteran who had to earn everything the hard way but his title run was a mockery of the sport. Hendo was a 46 years old and would have retired ranked #13 when Bisping handpicked him to defend against and then sat out for over a year so he could get the money fight against GSP. All the while the division had Romero, Whittaker, Weidman, Mousasi and Jacare, not to mention a rubber match against Rockhold since they were 1-1. Has there ever been a champion who would have most likely taken an L against so many contenders?

  • If Nate win the gets a shit at the title, that would make Nate want to re sign and stay with the company for the shot at the title. If khamzat wins they got a massive new young superstar ready to also fight for the title. This is a win win situation

  • UFC needed to garner more attention while Conor was still hottest in the business and to put on a big show in MSG so they fast tracked him to the lightweight title. Usman rematched Masvidal and Covington twice because they were more exciting matchups with a story behind each of them. Also, Yoel would've most likely ripped the title from Bisping's hands but with the Brit's flash knockout of Luke Rockhold, they setup a legacy fight with Henderson so they could further build hype and attention from the UK, then pit him against GSP who would've been a more even matchup. Not sure whether they expected GSP to win or lose but each of these choices went with the fights that sold the most due to the attention. Not fair to the rankings indeed, but when you have to choose between being fair to a fighter who has worked for a title shot or putting on an exciting fight that will draw numbers and more attention, the latter always comes first.

  • I actually think Khamzat vs Diaz is genius. Leon got his title shot after being Nate and if a casual knows you beat Nate they will support you getting the shot. I would have much rather seen Khamzat vs Covington but from a business perspective it gives Khamzat a bump in popularity and it’s a far less dangerous fight. If he wins, the fans will be on board for a title fight next but he better look dominant against Diaz.

    • Fuck no. The Khazmat vs Diaz fight is fucking stupid. They want to send out Diaz on a stretcher. Also, if Khazmat wins, people will still favor and cheer for guys like Usman and Colby. A win against Nate Diaz does nothing for Khazmat.

    • the fight makes no sense at all. if khamzat wins he basically gains nothing but money, it dosent push him to an immediate title fight like covington would but if he loses to diaz, he will lose all his hype and this is diaz's last fight. your basically risking a win on chimaevs record which dosent mean anything for losing 2 superstars because khamzats loses hype and diaz retires

  • I think the second masvidal fight did add some legitimacy to usman. The first fight was boring the second one he really showed he is levels above and got rid of the narrative that he dosent have knockout power
