  • You know what's funny? The official UFC'S stats shows that Pereira landed more significant strikes not only in total, but also in all rounds, except the fourth. Alex not only set him up, he set all of US up. There's a video on my channel of a interview he did months ago where he explains how the sets his KOs. He literally narrates this whole fight.

  • This was probably the most narrative breaking win ever. Especially poetic because of how Izzy treats himself as a fictional character and talks abt his arc, all the talking about how Alex came to the UFC just so that Izzy could fix his record made so much sense. Alex actually seems like as nice a guy as anyone, but he was definitely the villain in this story, quite remarkable that he actually won in the end of such a surreal run

  • i think what really put into perspective how good alex pereira really is for me, was the before joining the ufc, izzy wasnt even his biggest rival. alex was izzy's but alex had two or three way bigger rivalries in his career against better kickboxers with way better legacies that will forever be remembered by kickboxing fans such as jason wilnis and artem vakhitov

    • Honestly izzy had kickboxing experience with takedown defense counting as his mma experience. The ground and pound was just an extension of his kickboxing ability. Alex pereira beat him without much mma exp. And now as the chanp he has time to get mma exp before the rematch. Its crazy

  • First Glover, then Usman, onto Olivera, and now Adesanya. The champs who seemed to be on the way of dominating their divisions have been trumped via upsets. Most of them in the last round too. We could also argue that Sterling's win over Yan was a big upset and Volk's domination over Max could count as this too. Although some of the champs are loved it's good to see the rankings and belt change ownership. It results in discourse and encourages competition, can't wait to see what 2023 holds for us fans.

  • Izzy trying to dismiss Poatan's achievements was when I knew Izzy wasn't taking him seriously. Pereira KO'd Jason Wilnis who was Izzy's last fight in Glory. Alex actually won and defended the middleweight title in Glory. Something Adesanya couldn't do.
