"He may talk like Mike Tyson, but he sure doesn't fight like him" Boy did he live up to that statement
"your wife slaps harder than that will" should have been Chris' comeback
@@SuperAyan98 No he should have said "You need to keep dudes out of your wife's mouth"

"the award show no one watches honoring the films barely anyone has seen." that is the most accurate description of the Oscars I've ever heard.
Yea no kidding. I haven't heard nor seen any of these films

Not even the actual academy voters have seen most of them.
The only people I know who watch are women who just want to laugh at the actresses' ridiculous outfits.
@@jessicablueheart9772 they’re out there! just have to look for it. Drive my car was a splendid hidden gem and im so happy it was nominated.

Waiting for the third to release in August.
I don’t look forward to the Oscars ceremony, but I DO look forward to this video every single year. Lol

NGL, I hadn't even heard of most of these movies... and after seeing the honest trailers, I get the feeling I didn't miss much.
'Would Wolverine heal his circumcision' is one of the greatest philosophical questions of our time.
That line was so freakin underappreciated!
Considering he was born in the 1800s, he likely was uncut
I'd say no, his healing powers wouldn't retroactively fix a "wound" he received over ten years before he got his powers.

@@gothix5868 huh?

Disagree on the CODA one, if you've actually seen the movie that one makes no sense.
"Is Abuse the Price of being really good at something?" .........I'm not psychologically ready to unpack that.
That’s a bingo!
better yet, when u r abused but still failed
That's a typical Dark Souls experience.
And accidentally, you missed the Oscar's punchline no-one could predict.
He DID predict it. "He may talk like Mike Tyson, but he doesn't fight like him"
@@damon_aaron true, I missed that!
You guys actually did the nominees a great service, I'd likely not know anything about most of these films had you not featured them. And now I'm more than inclined to watch them.
I saw all of them, and even then, there's a few (looking at you, Belfast and Nightmare Alley) that I remember very little of, so HT also did a service by reminding me about them.
I'm one of the people that is just glad Honest Trailers did this so now I don't have to watch the Oscars. Or the movies.
Well most of the movies were pretty good and that was actually a very entertaining night
"...but an Emmy would be nice." LOL!!!
This was hilarious. I hope they win an Emmy this year.
This honest trailer is the most the Oscars will be watched this year, ALSO DO THE TRUMAN SHOW
I'm assume you're the same ds who said the same sh*t last year.
@@blackguyofthesouth2161 The Oacars have literally been going down in viewership year after year. No need to simp for Hollywood celebs my guy.
They already did Free Guy last week.
@@OmniscientlyMe then the outsiders
The number of viewers for the 2021 Oscars was about 9 million, and it has been trending downward. There are about 70 Honest Trailers so far with more views than that. So... there's a pretty good chance there really will be more people who see this than the actual Oscars.
Can we get a second trailer? This doesn’t “Honestly” depict how last Sunday will be remembered
The punch at the end 9:25 was very prophetic about this year's oscars. What a coincidence that they ended the video with that shot! Haha

At this point, the Academy has completely given up on pretending that they respect technical workers in film.
And animated movies, because you know that the movie is good when disney dont won.

Yah, pretty much I knew the guy on the board of governors who forced the show to showcase the technical workers every year but he retired and now it’s been cut to prerecorded sections shown during the commercial breaks. It’s a shame really.

4:30 - this is way funnier after the oscars
Just came here to say the Williams sisters' father abandoned his first wife when he found out she was dying and his first daughter lived in poverty trying to take care of her mother alone before she died. The more you know. 🌈
King Richard isn't the life story of Richard Williams, it's about a very specific time frame in which he and Oracene gave Venus and Serena the foundation to become who they are. That's why it starts and ends where it does. People that gripe that the movie is about him and not about them, but it really isn't. There's a lot of stuff that was left out but that's true of any biopic and especially true of any biopic that's about a specific event or time. I don't think anyone comes away from that movie thinking that he's a saint but it tells the story it's trying to tell really well and the acting is great in it -- which is what is being judged by the awards shows.
@@Ceares I know that, which is why I came here to fill in some of the gaps.

Jaime Dornan just needed a good director. Sounds like Monday quarter-backing, but if you watched pre-50 Shades of Grey JD performances, you know he has good acting chops.
Yep! The Fall was awesome!
How do people forget about The Fall so easily?!
Hopefully soon Dornan will get his Pattinson redemption. He’s a great actor, and he wasn’t bad in 50 shades it’s the movie that’s bad.
I'd argue his acting in 50 Shades of Grey wasn't even bad. The script was.

I drop a tear for all the Dune fans who saw this story be named "Star Wars".

The Oscars: Our favorite thing to complain about that we still watch and invest in anyway
Finally and honest comment
I think you are projecting.
No need to call me out that publicly my dude.
Except people nowadays have gradually stopped watching and investing in the Oscars.
This. Year after year, everyone complains about the nominees and winners, criticizes the show, makes memes about funny moments and everyone has an expert opinion on who should have won here and there - only to then unanimously claim that they "don't care about the Oscars at all !".
Voiceover guy was right when he said honoring films barely anyone has seen. The only best picture nominee I've seen was Don't Look Up. I saw a few minutes of Power of the Dog.

Little did you know the slap would define this year's Oscars.
I wish you would update it with the newest "developments"
I really miss when you guys would pick your own nominations for the Oscars - is that something you’d do again?

Mike Tyson would’ve knocked out Chris Rock
The Don't Look Up - Crash comparison is 100% on point
It's embarrassing it was even nominated, please don't let it win.
Not even remotely on point. Even if you consider them bad they are bad for entirely different reasons. Can’t believe people would compare satire with a drama like Crash. Shows how much they’ve missed the point.
Well, unlike Crash, Don't Look Up didn't win Best Picture (thank god). That went to CODA aka "Signfeld".
9:25 this is the only thing oscars 2022 will be rememebered for
😂
9:26 perfect forecast.
"SIGNFELD." I spit my food out when I heard that. Lmao
Here I am just waiting for the Screenies!
They will never come 😢
And the 2022 Oscars shall go down in history.
4:06 OMG that bit about Wolverine! I'm crying...lololololol😂
Drive my car is a masterpiece. Sounds like a hyperbole, but in this case it is justified. Anyone who gets the opportunity to see it please do.
Loved it. :)
It’s one of the most moving films ever made
Already watching it. I love it.
Its slow, boring and pedantic. It also never lets me either drive the car or learn to.
I wasn't wildly impressed with the films this past year, but I thought Drive My Car was the best of the nominees, easily better than the ones most in the running to win Best Picture, Power of the Dog and CODA (not that they were bad). This was a strong year for non-English language films. I wish The Worst Person in the World also got a Best Picture nomination.
"Now in the past, you may have seen Guillermo Del Toro make Fishfriends, Phantoms and Firefiends, friendly, fine and even f..ckalbe".....damn i laughed hard
Auch, so much foreshadowing with that ending face punch

Ngl ‘Tony-o and Juliet’ is brilliant wordplay. Well done 👏🏽
The Power of the Dog one really made me laugh out loud. Good shout, gang.
Well at least this honest trailer didn't spoil the plot twist.
Every year the Academy seems to make the list of Best Movie nominations bigger and bigger and every year it just reminds me of more movies I haven't seen. I think I have heard of at least three of these though, mainly because of youtube channels poking fun at them.
I've watched more of this Oscars video than I've seen of the actual Oscars (or any of their nominated videos) in about a decade. And at least this I enjoyed!
Are you saying you didn’t enjoy the movies you claim you didn’t watch? Doesn’t seem to make much sense, but ok.
@Kevin L C’mon, he’s just upset that his favorite CGI nostalgiasm was only given props for its CGI.
Very edgy and so cool props for you
I have thoughts: - I’m upset that Maggie Gyllenhaal and Denis Villeneuve weren’t included for Best Director - I’m rooting for Jane Campion to win. - Marlee Matlin should’ve been nominated for Best Actress. - I’m so happy to see a Bhutanese film nominated for Best Picture Category (International) - ‘Drive My Car’ is a Japanese Film nominated for both Best Picture and Best Picture (International) - ‘Flee’ is nominated in several categories - I’m sad to see no technical nominations for ‘Spencer’ - Lady Gaga should’ve been nominated because not liking her is a character flaw. - The Academy should make space for more than 5 nominees. - I’m excited to see what happens.
Given Dune 10 nominations and not nominating Denis Villeneuve has to be some kind of sick joke
@@LuisSierra42 Agreed.
MARLEE MATLIN ❤️
now HERE is a man of culture. I'm having a mild headache reading all the comments about watching this trailer more than the actual oscars and not caring about the movies and their substance
Something, anything for The Green Knight!
I BET SCREEN JUNKIES WISHED THEY'D WAITED TO DO THIS VIDEO UNTIL AFTER THIS YEARS OSCARS...

Wolverine was born in Canada in 1892, so probably wasn't circumcised in the first place. Hope this helps x
This was a cool and funny honest trailer. I was right (technically) when the honest trailers mentioned about some people not being to still go to the movies and having them stream them online.
Benedich Cumberpatch saw Daniel Craig's turn at CSI:KFC and decieded to one-up him by playing an American cowboy.
Y'all might want to do a post-Oscars video asap. I know a lotta your fans have the popcorn ready.
loved the continental accent during the 'Nightmare Alley' part - well done!

@@damunaik4 Long Story Short, he's a creep. He ever sexually assaulted a minor when he was shooting The Faults in Our Stars. He was 20 at that time and the girl was 17.

I love this channel. Honest trailers , like pitch Meeting, needs to just be it’s own channel now
I'm starting to agree.
It basically already is. There is very few non honest trailer videos being released on this channel lately. Most of the other videos they make are on the Fandom Entertainment channel.
They have said they don't want that. They like making other things. In fact they wished they could dp more things in this main chanel If they take away Honest Trailers from this channel, views are gonna go down here. They get decent views on other videos because this is the Honest Trailer channel. They also have said they'd hate needing to rush to do more than one trailer every week
Not counting the great poem they gave us a couple months ago, the channel has been giving us exclusively HT since Dan left.
