  • Thanks Tony for allowing us all to share this journey. I would love to build one of these one day but I think it's not in my future so really thanks for allowing me to experience this whole build with you. This build is truly amazing and you're speeding ahead faster than I thought was possible! Can't wait to see the finish!

  • Hi Tony, great work and video as usual. You scoring that brass work reminded me of doing something similar with a very sharp scalpel blade. It didn't end well. My left index finger has now got a flat edge for a while!! I am keeping my eye on the availability of these bad boys and waiting for something that may part me from my bank balance! Cheers! 😀

  • Hi Tony, Good out-of -the box build. Just a note.... the turret rotation motor mount is attached to the top deck via two countersunk screws. Looks like one of them is partially covered by the armoured ring. This means you will have to remove the ring to fit the motor. I hope this is not an issue due to the Loctite. Alastair (F01)

    @alastaircooke4341@alastaircooke4341 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Alastair, thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, to my utter frustration I discovered this later down the line..Armortek don't highlight that and it is annoying, however I did resolve this and I do cover this in a later video. Hope you continue to watch and follow.

  • Love to see the big Lazy Susan ring was used in Armortek's tank model. My older version tanks didn't have got this part , and I always want to see it's assembly process (5:20 - 7:35). I wonder is it the 14" diameter available in the market , or different diameter specially designed for Armortek's tanks only?

    @LerhChang@LerhChang Жыл бұрын
    • Yes, it works brilliantly. Not sure if it is a proprietary part or not. I suspect Armortek may commission these. Which tanks do you have?

    • @@tonys_workshop A 2009 King Tiger (now sold to exchange a 2007 Tiger 1). The KT's turret was very heavy (>29kg) and T1's also heavy (~25kg), that to rotate it wasn't a easy task. I bet with the Lazy Susan ring , it's a different story.

  • Hi Tony, great video's. Just one thought, have you put the hatches on the wrong sides, the periscopes should be facing forwards.

  • Excellent work Sir Tony ,does the turret ring run on ball bearings and is your reference book the Haynes manual ? Goes without saying welljell lol.

    @steve1315@steve1315 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Steve, thanks again for your support. The turret ring is set up like a 'Lazy Susan" with integral ball bearings. I have a few books, but not the Haynes Manual...I didn't realise at the time you could buy something like that, but I know now and will be getting one of those for the M26 when it arrives. The book in this video is by David Doyle, "Legends of Warfare, Tigers 1 & 2"

      @tonys_workshop@tonys_workshop Жыл бұрын
    • @@tonys_workshop I have several Tank Haynes manuals and word of caution they are not what you would call traditional Haynes manual you just get a couple of cross sections good books but just a money spinning idea from Bovington. Hillary Doyle and Tom Jentz better.
