  • just going to be buying an Armortek tank in 2024, have been looking at them for a couple of years now so I've been watching this with interest and really appreciate what you've done to explain any pitfalls, really dreading doing the zimmerit, as I could end up spoiling the whole build by getting it wrong, a friend who is into R/C cars will keep me right on the radio control bits, but this is mega help many thanks Tony

    • Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. You are very welcome and glad to hear that you are taking the plunge. Once you get into this hobby it can be very addictive. I really enjoyed building the Tiger and opted not to go for the zimmerit partially for the same reason, but also wanted to get access to some of the fixings if ever required which can be covered by the application. I have learned so much since the Tiger and this has really helped in the build of the M26 & the current Hetzer build. You will find the same....I would appreciate it if you could reference my channel when ordering your tank as I know Armortek follow my channel and I love what they do and always hope that I show them in a positive light. Have you decided which tank you are going for...I am guessing the Early Version Tiger if you are considering zimmerit? Good luck with the build and if you get stuck, please get in touch and I will do my best to help. Happy New Year to you.

  • Well Tony, despite my comments on video 1 about parts needing deburring. I must say this build is mightily impressive. After watching all the vids in this series, this has been an amazing build. Armortek make some great stuff and although the kits are costly, when you look into the sheer number of parts, the machining and fabrication and not to mention the design work involved, it’s a wonder they can sell them for the price. The cost of materials alone is a major factor, there are some big lumps of metal in the kit! As an engineer and manager of a machine shop, I can appreciate the work and skills involved in the manufacture (although the burrs on the machined parts still irritate me🤣). I have an engineer friend who now sells CNC machines and he has visited Armortek in the past, although I don’t know if they have bought any machines from him-I’ll have to find out. Many thanks for taking us along with you in the build, it was certainly very interesting for me. Well done!👍

    • Hi Monty and thank you for following my build. I couldn't agree more and I also love the fact that Armortek are a UK based company who supply their kits across the world. Have you seen the machining videos from Armortek on the M26 listed on my playlist? As an Engineer, I am sure you would find them interesting. I have fallen in love with these kits, that's why I couldn't resist ordering the M26. I hope you continue to follow my builds and thank for you comments along the way and supporting my channel.

  • You’ve been an invaluable inspiration Tony. My sincere thanks for your videos, you’ve allowed me to avoid some of the pitfalls that crop up whilst building one of these Tanks. I’m now at the point on my Tiger build where I need to start fitting the Motion packs and other bits and bobs. If only you lived close to Wiltshire! 😢 Best regards. Chris.

    @chrisblackler3338@chrisblackler3338 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Chris, that is an amazing comment and thank you so much. I am sure you will be fine...although somewhat daunting, fitting the packs is not that difficult as it is relatively plug and play.. The bench test is essential..if you set everything up on the bench, plug it all into the right kit following the instructions and labels, then connect your batteries, and align the channels as per the instructions, this allows you to familiarise yourself with the operational parts ahead of the installation. I guess you have set up the radio gear ahead of this part? Test each part as instructed in the manual...If you fall into difficulty I will try to help on here or definitely reach out to the forum. There are so many really helpful and much more experienced builders on there...good luck my friend, but I don't think you need it. If I did live closer mate, I would have no problem trying to help...thanks again for your continued support.

  • Simply brilliant work. Sincere kudos. Now you need to airbrush on some grime and weathering. It looks almost too new and clean for a battle tank - lol I realize just how 'spendy' these kits are (they DON'T cost too much, I just can't afford them) so it's marvelous that those of us with thin wallets can vicariously enjoy the build process through your vids. Like they say , the difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. Looking forward to the Pershing.

  • What can I say Tony other than epic bud so many questions. Love the sweater, nice mustang. Those figures I need a set of those!!! Accessories Dragon? Tiger drives beautifully no bouncing around like my 1/16 do. What journey loved every minute of it. Watched the latest video/update on the persching going to be a better. On the 1/6 American thing, I have the roc hobby willy's jeep and trailer set superb bit of kit and not a lot of money if you fancy adding something like that to the collection? They drive fantastic its basically a crawler underneath the detailed body. Also ordered same radio set they have a very good reviews. Cheers for all the videos you have helped me out no end. Cheers

    • Good morning Gary. Thanks mate for your continue kind comments and support. Sweater, yeah I had to do it as I am tank crazy now. Mustang, not mine, my sons and his last hurrah, before getting married. Figures, yes Dragon...but buy used un-boxed ones, they are cheaper then get in contact with Sym from Churchill Creations: www.churchillcreations.co.uk I love how the tiger moves...it is so realistic. I am still developing my driving skills and have another driving video coming up when I start interacting with the bridge. I hope you enjoy that when it is up. I have seen the ROC jeep set and very tempted, especially when I come to the end of my M26 build and other plans as you know. I am taking your final comment as a huge compliment...I have seen your work mate and massive respect to you. Have a great weekend and hope you tune in to follow my short series on the Bridge build.

  • What a pleasure to follow your amazing journey. I’ve always wanted an RC tank but wondered what life ‘after the tank’ would be like! They’re not small things that you can put on a shelf, and I suspect that for many owners the real pleasure is in building them and then the first few weeks of operation, but what happens then? For me I expect that the fun, allied to the frustrations, would lead me to sell the finished product and then move on to the next tank project. What is your opinion of long term ownership? I’m really looking forward to your Pershing project and following another amazing journey by such a talented yet modest model maker. Good luck 💥

    @peterrussell663@peterrussell663 Жыл бұрын
    • Hi Peter, thank you for your very positive comments. You are so right...these are not small things and post build the builder needs to have a plan as to what to do with it. In my case I thought long and hard about this as I did not want to be in the position you describe. The build is brilliant, but so too is the driving especially when you put obstacles in its way. The very reason I built the scale bridge was to make the drive interesting. I have also planned to build a 1:6 scale tank driving range in the future..I have a small plot of land which I am looking at developing into an arena for tank builders such as myself to put their hard work to the test...this is a long term plan and something I will be looking to do next year. I may go on to sell the Tiger at some point, but in the meantime I am looking forward to building the M26 and will continue to have fun putting my Tiger through it's paces. Thanks again for supporting and following my projects, it is very much appreciated. Have a great weekend.

Please see below links for the recommendations Armortek made for me: Batteries: YUASA REC22-12 CYCLIC/GOLF BATTERY 12V 22AH www.tayna.co.uk/golf-batteries/yuasa/rec22-12/ You will require two of these. Radio gear: Transmitter: FrSky Taranis X9D Plus 2019 (t9hobbysport.com) Receiver: FrSky X8R Receiver (t9hobbysport.com) Bear in mind there is no rush to buy these as the static build will take you over 200 hours. Same goes for the option packs..unless you have ordered these at the same time, just order them nearer the time you require them. Hope this helps.

  • Tony, do you have more details on the blue "lift" under the tank? I would appreciate a link to the retailer who sells that item. It is very useful to lift up the tank to put the tracks on or take them off.

    @sunitcarpenter7226@sunitcarpenter72264 ай бұрын
    • No problem...if you type in "Motorcycle Scissor Lift" into amazon or the internet, you should find it. They are approx £45.00. These are an essential piece of kit when working with these heavy tanks. I also store my tanks on these, elevated to take the load of the torsion bars when not in use. Hope this helps.

I actually attend the WEST ESSEX MODEL TRUCK ENTHUSIASTS CLUB who meet at Roydon Village Hall near Harlow twice a month with my 1/12th scale HEMTT Tank transporter and Leopard 2A6 and the next meet is Friday evening 24th March. The club also goes under the name of the MOORHEN MODEL BOAT CLUB and they have a stand at Wings and Wheels where they let me display my HEMMT in front of their stand due to it's size. If your free and pop along (without Tiger on this occasion) maybe some space can be arranged at Wings and Wheels.

    @davidallen2058@davidallen2058 Жыл бұрын
