Congratulations Tony! You are my hero. Just amazing. Thank you for all the tips and inspirations. Ed
Thanks Ed. Glad that you enjoyed my M26 build. Hope you come along on the next build journey, starting next week.
It's amazing! Again, I'm looking forward to seeing this beast tearing up some earth. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have planned for your next build. Cheers!
Thanks Michael, I will definitely do some driving vids with this and the Tiger. Next build starts next week and will try and get the unboxing video uploaded by Friday.
This is, indeed, a bittersweet moment, I really looked forward to Fridays and opening up your latest post, and yes, this has been great fun to watch, thank you so much for inviting all of us into your garage to enjoy your build, I imagine to fill that void I'll need to go way back and watch your Tiger build, have to agree with you on the comparison, that 26 just has a sexr quality to it, you are now the proud builder/owner of Beauty and the Beast...in steal, congratulations and thanks
Hi Jeff, Thank you for coming on this journey with me. I am starting a new build next week….another well known WW2 tank will soon be unboxed and built and hope that you join me on my new journey building another amazing 1/6 scale tank from Armortek. Travelling in the US right now, but back next week and cant wait to get stuck straight in.
Wonderful news, Tony of course I will join you in this new build (don't know where you're going to park all these monsters), while you're in the U.S., if you find yourself in San Diego I'd be happy to buy you that Guinness
Storing these will be a challenge, but I am sure I will work it out. San Diego is on our bucket list. We are just coming to the end of a cruise which took us up to Alaska and then down the West coast, stopping at Seattle, San Fran and arriving in LA tomorrow. A couple of days there and then back to the UK. If we do every get to San Diego, I will get the first round in.
WOW, Superb Mate !! Looking forward to see whats next .
Thanks Richard. Another build about to start and also some driving Vids as soon as I get a chance.
Excellent builds, Thank you for sharing. Looking forward to your next build
Thanks Ray…Just travelling in the US at the moment, but back in the UK next week and will get straight into the new build. I will try and get the unboxing video up by next Friday. Thanks also for your continued support…it means a lot to me.
love the m 26 it looks amazing , cant wait to see both tanks in action and look forward to seeing the next build , keep up the good work
Hi Alex and thank you. Next build starting soon.
Well done Tony, fantastic build series mate, enjoyed every minute of iy. Can't wait for the next one.
Thanks Brian, much appreciated. Next build starting soon.
Nice job there Tony and shows us that anyone with some skills and tools, can build one. Keep them coming, love to see more.
Thanks Bill, that means a lot. Hope you join me on the next build. Just travelling in the US, but will get started on my new build next week when I get back to the UK and really excited about getting back and getting started.
When and where in the US? Would be happy to see you if at all possible and share ideas. I am heading to Central NY this week and then back down South. We could run my big 1:4 KT while here, it needs a good run about.
Hi Bill, apologies, I missed this message. We were travelling down the NW coats from Alaska to LA. Just got back to the UK today.
Tony: No worries, thought if close by, we could meet and chat. Good luck on the next build.
Thank you Tony for such a great series, glad you had so much fun building them both, we had just as much fun coming along for the ride!
Thank you for joining me. I really appreciate all the comments and encouragement I get on these builds and cannot wait to start my new project next week. I hope you will continue to follow and watch.
Absolutely stunning mate 👌
Thanks Jason, hope you join me on my next build series starting soon.

Hi Steve…thank you….Your support is amazing….Please tune in for my next build…I am super excited about getting started. I will also post a Tiger v Pershing Vid as soon as the weather here in the UK permits.
Tanktastic…….love all the extras that really make the build look great. Cheers Tony. Look forward to the next !😎
Tank you Warren, much appreciated.
Another brilliant video Tony. The Pershing looks superb with the detail and finish spot on. Sat with the Tiger they make two seriously impressive scale models. Thanks so much for sharing your build experiences with us. Looking forward to the next project.
Thanks Keith, much appreciated.
Absolutely fantastic Tony, youve done an amazing Job on this beautiful Tank 😍 again watched every second, i Love your attention to detail 👍 really enjoyed this Video 👍
Thanks Tony, much appreciated. I absolutely loved building the M26 and it turned out as I wanted it to...I will be taking it for a spin when I road test the Hetzer. Video up in a couple of weeks. Thank you for your continued support mate.
All turned out superb Tony . On to the next....
Thanks Malcolm, much appreciated. Next one starting soon.
I'll be watching your progress. Myself, I'm still on a steady build of the Panther G. Going to be a long time yet until completion.@@tonys_workshop
Fantastic job Tony, it looks the puppies parts
😆 Thank you….Hope you come along on my next build.
@@tonys_workshop I'll be there, said it a couple of times, thanks for sharing the builds, and once again shout out to Ben for editing the videos, looking forward to the next one, although your credit card company is probably more excited than me 😂🤣😂
😂
Congratulations, Tony. And thank you. I was moved by the scene after 16:13. Ben also did a great job. Thank you for your hard work. I'm looking forward to the next build series and the Tiger 1 and M26 videos. トニー、おめでとう。そして、ありがとう。 16:13以降のシーンに感動したよ。 ベンも素晴らしい仕事をしました。ご苦労様です。 次回の構築シリーズとタイガー1とM26の動画を楽しみにしています。
Thank you. Everything I say on these videos is real and honest. I really appreciate your wonderful and kind comments. Looking forward to exchanging comments on my next build. Thank you also for your continued support.
SO FUN to watch another of your builds from unboxing to finishing touches. I particularly love the helmets hanging on the turret!
Thank you…I think those little finishing touches really add to the look. Hope you join me on my next build starting soon.
@@tonys_workshop I wouldn't miss it!!!
She looks perfect, great job! Can't wait for the next build to begin. Tony's work shop is my favorite KZhead channel.
Thank you….Wow…I’m humbled by that comment…thank you so much for your support. Hope you enjoy my next build series.
Great build and superb end product!
Thank you. Hope you follow my next build starting soon.
@@tonys_workshopTony, I fear your retirement money _and_ your children's inheritance is evapourating at an alarming rate! Anyway...LOL...any...er...clues/hints/appetizers as to what has tickled your militaristic bits? The Marda looks very very tasty although a Pzkfw III would be my succulent choice!
I have an addiction with these tanks😂 clues…WW2, German and lighter.
Thank you Tony - it's been a delight to follow along with your build, and I can't believe how your final details make it look so real. Thank you for inspiring me to build one of these beauties - this week I've been mostly removing excess casting from the front hull piece, so I'm a good 6 months behind you. Looking forward to your next video. Cheers Keith
Thank you Keith…Hope you are enjoying the build…you will get so much satisfaction and some little frustrations but you will get there.
very good job
Thanks Barry, hope you continue to watch and follow.
Thanks Barry, hope you continue to watch and follow.
how about a Sherman next?@@tonys_workshop
If they still had a Sherman available I would love to build one. It is one of my favourite tanks from this era.
You’ve done yourself proud there what a fantastic machine I can’t wait to find out what you’re up to next.
Thanks Steve. Very much appreciated. New build series starting soon.
Always apply a coat (or more depending roughness) of base colour first when using stencils and any bleed will be hidden, let that dry, then apply the detail colour over. A coat of white will help if the logo colour is red or yellow and some blues as the white will make those colours pop!
Thanks Peter, Great tip.
Try hitting the stars with you OD Green...let it dry then apply white...the OD will "find" the leaky parts so the white wont and you will have crip edges....and thanks for the build videos....
That is a great idea…..Thank you…I will defo try this next time I use stencils. I hope you join me on the next build.
Thanks Tony
All it needs is some weathering
Keep collecting Armorteks Tony going to need a bigger workshop mate😂 Very nice to see them both side by side for a comparison Can see the pershing is a later more modern design However I love the Brutal look of the Tiger And Another build finished hat's off both Tanks look superb Look forward to the next build😁
Thanks Gary...yes...I will shortly have to come up with a plan to store these or consider letting one go. Not there yet.😀 Apparently the German infantry were scared of the look of the Pershing as they had never seen anything like it before.
carnt wait to see that video Tony 👍keep up the great vids mate 👍
That was meant to go to reply , my phone is messing about 🤭
👍
Really impressed at how well your tank came out. Beautiful job with the details and painting. Will you be adding figures to this as well? Can't wait to see it running. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Thank you and yes, I will be adding another animatronic figure, but this time just one…He will be operating the 50 Cal MG. I will definitely video more driving vids and will try and set up a face off between the M26 and the Tiger…. Thank you also for your support and hope you follow and watch my next build, starting real soon.
Was watching Kelly's Hero's yesterday and have bought two 1/32 versions as for me to buy one of these I need to win the lotto but they look amazing. So i will do the in tribute to fury and Kelly's hero's until your next build ttfn
Thanks and hope you do manage to find a way to buy one of these amazing kits. Hope you join me for my next build.
If you spray the base coat after applying the stencil it will stop the white bleeding
Thanks Paul good tip and very much appreciated
A great build series Tony, thanks! The M26 looks great! By the Way, I noticed the Mustang (?) in the driveway 😊. Rare beast in the UK? My ‘77 Mustang ll sits in the garage.
Hi John, Thank you. That is my sons and they are quite popular here in the UK. His one is the smaller eco engine, but still sounds good. I think he would rather a real muscle version as you have.😀
Hi Tony - I have a Leopard 2A4 on order. I am OK with the mechanical/construction part but a little less confident about painting.
That is a great looking kit. I would recommend when you receive it, to study the instructions, work out the sequence of the build that you are comfortable with, then plan the painting side of things. Spray cans work really well on these kits...The best way forward is to clean and prep all the parts, then etch prime...leave over night, then prime coat and leave again...Check coverage, then start building up the top layers of paint...Dont worry...because these models are so large, you can respray if needed. Do not buy cheap paints...make sure you buy something like FOSCO or similar.....take your time and you will not go wrong. Hope this helps.
Great job as always, where did you get the stencils for the markings? Thank you for sharing your time with me.
Hi David, Thank you. Noostadirect, great company here in the UK. Contact Paul over there and he will custom make most stencils.
Hey Tony Congrats on getting to the finish line and enjoying the entire process. Couldn’t wait for the next Friday to see progress and seems like yesterday you were toiling away with the suspension parts. Not to spoil the identity of your next build but could the first letter of the tank be found on the far right side of a keyboard and the last letter on the same row three from the left? Anyway can’t wait till next week. Safe travels Mike
Thanks Mike…So that would be ‘P’ & ‘R’ Right era, right axis, but wrong tank…Close but no cigar 😀
A few more questions Tony. 1. How long did it take you from start to finish to complete the tank build? 2. What skill is the most important when putting these tanks together? Mechanical? Electrical? 3. Can one person do this or do you need a second person occasionally to lift the tank (rotate or flip)? I have a few armortek kits and have some hisitation about starting (and not finishing or abandoning it).
No problem. 1. They vary in time, but my Tiger took approx 350 hours to complete, the M26 took approx 280 hours. Still working through the Hetzer. It all depends on the level of detail you want to put in, for example, mock welding etc, but 300 hours would what I would expect to see it from the box to fully painted and operational. When I say hours, this was spread over weekends, some evenings and any spare time I managed to get. It is not a race and take your time to enjoy each stage of the build. 2. Skill wise....patience above all, but basic DIY skills will get you the static build and the electronics are pretty much plug and play. There is some tweaking required when setting up the radio gear, but there is a lot of information on the Forum which will help with that. I started my channel to show builders how it can be done without having to be an expert and before I started, I had only ever built static models and dioramas. I have done a video on my channel, where I go through some of the tools which I found useful, but in addition to that, I would recommend a Dremel or similar as this comes in super handy. 3. You can totally build this on your own. The scissor jack is so helpful for the build. Once elevated you can rotate the model around, raise it up and down to help access all the areas of work. I built both the Tiger and the M26 on my own apart from some help with the wheel assembly, but this can be achieved 100% on your own with the Scissor lift and the right tools. If you can afford it, I would also recommend the table lift and ramp as I show in the last Tiger build video. This will help you remove the tank from the bench, transport it around your workspace and allow you to lower it to assist with moving the tank on to the ground. 4. Start slowly, set yourself easy targets for each stage of the build. If you make a mistake, it can be rectified...these are robust kits and take some hammering. If you get frustrated, walk away and come back to it the next day. Study the instructions, get a reference book for the tank you are building, read the instructions from back to front before you start. You will be abale to do this and once you get stuck in you will love it. Hope this has helped.
Thank you Tony. Appreciate the advice and guidance. @@tonys_workshop
you are very welcome.
Hi Tony - thanks for the advice. I don’t want to take up any more of your time. One last question - where do you buy your Fosco from ?
Happy to help. Fosco military paints are available across the internet, but I actually got the latest ones on Amazon as the price was better. I used their Olive Drab in a matt finish on the M26.
Tony Hi, where did you purchase the small ift from? Cheers
Well it turned out very nicely in the end. I like your added details which gives the tank a bit of personality, especially your cloth tarps. Question, what are the rods/metal bars sticking out of the back of the turret used for on the real deal? Just to complete my view on this particular tank, I watched the documentary of which even by todays standards is a tough watch, those poor people getting caught in the cross-fire was truly awful.
Hi Martin, thank you. I really love this kit and very pleased with how it turned out. Those angled brackets on the back of the turret are for stowing away and safe storage for the 50 Cal MG when not in use. War is indeed brutal and I try not to glorifying war when building these kits, but concentrate on the design and engineering aspects only. These were lethal weapons even by todays standards.
Hope you tune into my current Hetzer build as well. Thanks for your amazing support.
@@tonys_workshop Thanks for the info, helps to understand the real life version, especially when the subject matter is new ground to some of us. ...and yes very much looking forward to the Hetzer, another subject I know very little about and will no doubt enjoy my continued education of WW2 tanks.
Hi Tony - I would love more detail on the weathering. What paint you used, how you applied it, where you applied it Etc
Hi and thank you for watching and commenting. No problem, I will cover this when I get to that stage on the Hetzer, but I use acrylic paints and dry brushing for highlights.
@@tonys_workshop Hi Tony - thanks for the reply. Watched Tiger and Perhsing, just going on to the Hetzer. II find them very useful and interesting
Thank you, I am glad that you find these useful...Are you building one of these or planning to?
Sorry Tony, typo, where did you purchase the small lift that goes under the tank?
Purchased from Amazon…Motorcycle jack. Hope this helps.
Hi Tony from Australia, can you tell me where you obtained the stencils for your M26. Cheers Ron
Hi Ron, greetings from the UK. Yes…a company called Noostadirect here in the UK. Contact Paul over there and he will assist. Pretty sure he ships worldwide. Hope this helps.
Tony where did you buy the aerial stuff?
EBay..1.5mm carbon rod 300mm…so cheap and work really well. Hope this helps.
