Two fish on one dive. That's a shot that will never leave my memory. Outstanding.
"i have never seen anything like this" yeah, enjoy the magnetic pole shift while photogenic nature scenes are all it's doing
This is “planet Earth” level of story telling and video quality. A seriously good job.
Thank you very much!
@@MarkSmithphotography I absolutely loved the shot of the Osprey with those two fish, but mostly because of the 'shake' that it gave to remove the water, much like my two Golden Retrievers! Fascinating to say the least!
Couldn't agree more!
Hell! BETTER than Planet Earth!
Waaaaay better
Huge respect for you using you own content for this instead of curiosity stream clips etc like the rest of people on KZhead. The level of detail of your shots is amazing!!!!
Thanks
Four 10. One for narration, one for music, one for the video and one for the images. If it would be an Olympic for bird photography, the gold medal would be yours 100%.
Thanks
Every now and again an absolute gem pops up in your KZhead list. Today was one of those days. Great vid and that shot with Osprey and jumping fish in the background WOW!!!
Thanks!!
Amen ! Instant subscribe - love the narration and epic content !
“a feast of fresh finicky fish” - your writing skills are way up there with your photography skills. Somewhere an old English teacher of yours is smiling! Great documentary!!
Lol, thank you very much. No surprise English, science and art were my favs!
I have to agree with these comments - brilliant photography and narrative….love it! 😊
@@beel3489 thank you!
I agree!
That last shot of the bird catching two fish at a single time was the best for me😧😮😀wonderful and beautiful at the same time
Thanks
The shot near the end with the Osprey's wings fully extended high above its head looks angelic, impossible, so symetrical, once in a lifetime, and award winning. Thanks
Reminds me of scenes from Predator...
This is easily one of the best wildlife stories I have every seen! I could feel your blood racing capturing these incredible sights... and with such detail too! You are an inspiration Mark, I keep telling me friends about you. And now that I have moved to Canada, I look forward to chronicling some of Mother Nature's wonders as well. Love your stories and your high art. Well done sir!
Thanks
The whole thing was my favorite part.
Agreed. I started watching just to check out a snippet, but couldn’t stop watching to the end. Great job
You need to get out more
The whole of the United States is my favorite state.
Same! I'm late for work 😂
It’s amazing so few have witnessed ospreys first hand , one of my favorite birds .
This guy should be a narrator for animal documentaries. Not only are the videos and stills amazing, but his commentary is as well.
Thanks
The only thing more amazing than the events of the day is the fact that such a skilled photographer (and story teller) was out there to capture it! Thanks for sharing this awesome footage. It’s a priviledge to watch!
Thanks
I loved how the osprey with the two fish shook himself, to get the water off, just like a dog!
OMGosh...Dude! Epic! This Native Floridian Beach Bunny is blown away! Awesome from start to finish, especially the double-fisted fishing at the end! And all a clear example of why I never surfed during mullet migration!
I live in Pennsylvania and I was lucky enough to take part in an Osprey reintroduction program my neighbor got me into. We got to feed the fledglings with donated catch from boat launches. When you watch a immature bird shred a fish like wet tissue paper in person you gain a whole new understanding. It was more than impressive.
Awesome
Outstanding video Mark! Visuals, narration, music, WOW! Just WOW!
Thanks
What an incredible presentation! The Osprey has mesmerized me all my life. I've been fortunate to see mullet runs several times in my life while growing up along the beach. What amazing photography! Thank you!
Thanks
You are the Osprey whisperer! I enjoy your videos like no one else. Your narration is spot on, quick witted and keeps me on the edge of my seat. It was also great to hear you say how your arms hurt, etc. That shows your dedication and consuming desire to get ALL the shots you can while being part of the adventure in front of you! BRAVO!!!
This was planet earth worthy! Badass! Won the internet Sunday!
Simply stunning! Both the natural event and your capturing of it. Thank you. I know again why I look at so many KZhead videos, to find a gem like this!
Thank you!
Fantastic photography!. Who knew that Dana Carvey was also a great photographer?
Party on Garth
Jokes aside, this guy was awesome in the x-files, the lone gunmen are best!
@@davem6685 every time he said "mullet" I imagine Garth at the beach getting attacked by these birds
GREAT JOB, MARK . THANKS FOR ENJOYING YOUR QUALITY REPORTS WITH FANTASTIC PHOTOGRAPHIES .
I had to come back and watch this again, a rare thing to happen on KZhead. Really great, thanks
That’s awesome! Thanks so much !
Favorite part of course was "skiing " osprey, as he wiggles his shoulders. With my first DSLR, EOS 10D, I followed Arthur Morris, "Birds as art". You have filled that spot with the wonders of new technology allowing you to showcase your amazing talents. THANKS!
Thanks
I followed Arthur Morris and devoured "Birds as Art", have not heard from him lately, you?
Amazing stuff! My favorite segment was seeing the fish flailing around INSIDE the pelican's pouch! Also love the "shake off" the Osprey with two fish does. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Exceptional photography! I worked as lifeguard 1975-83 on east coast of FL. It’s great to see this again!
Glad you enjoyed it!
10:25 -- what an amazing photo. Truly breathtaking.
it just screams absolute focus
Thanks
"Luck favors those who are prepared." Some incredible images there, Mark - WOW!
Thanks
my favourite part? the whole thing! the shots and footage are incredible and the amazing storyteller you are, you make it even more interesting to watch. thank you so much for all the effort and love you put in these videos!
Thank you
The best photography I have seen in a long, long time. Thank you so much.
Thanks
Ospreys are awesome birds. So quick and agile.
Wow! I can't believe how well you were able to capture that day with so much going on all around you. Action Overload! Seems like you didn't miss a single thing, just as focused as that Osprey that caught 2-fish in one go. Keep the great videos coming please.
Thank you. It was an amazing experience!
Great work, really enjoyed this. I spent 27 years working as camera service technician both military and civilian. I love to see what a highly skilled photographer can produce with today's technology.
Right place at the right time, with the right person to capture the moment. Amazing.........;)
Thanks
1000 hours of KZhead and this is one of the single most memorable videos. The different levels of predation are so well explained. THANKS
Thanks for the compliments! Glad you enjoyed it.
Wow man! KZhead must be so proud of this channel! I just spent one of the best 13:40 minutes of my life! Thank you Mark!
Wow, thanks so much!
Those shots are amazing you rarely get a day of shooting like this, the pics and footage you obtained were top notch. I bet you felt on top of the World for days after shooting this! Thanks so much for sharing seriously good stuff.
Thanks
I liked the two-part motifs used in the music. They drove the plot very well.
Thanks
The majesty of Nature. Thank you Mr. Smith, fine work.
Great video. I have a suggestion for the future. I actually thought the speed was the normal playback speed, until you mentioned 4x slow motion. It would be interesting to see the action at full speed sometimes, just to give us an idea of how fast and hectic things really are.
Great suggestion!
You can also speed it up on your laptop speed.
He would have to talk a lot faster. Maybe if the normal speed was in separate video with no narration? Or show some of the coolest clips at normal speed, at the end of the video
My favorite part was from beginning to end
Exactly!!
There's nobody better, Mark. You're the best!
Thanks
Most incredible footage I have ever seen. Totally amazing.
Thanks
Love it. So many good moments, the fish bleeding out the water,, the bird flighting with the to fishes. The sun raise was great. Nice colours.
Thank you!
Mark, that was just spectacular! Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
My favorite part of the video was the entire video. I have witnessed mullet runs and feeding frenzies on the inter coastal water ways of North Carolina. Everything literally everything was eating these fish. And, the schools of fish were massive one right after another. Fish eating the mullet would frequently beach themselves and eventually bounce themselves back into the water. There were even gigantic rays getting in on the feast. Amazing stuff dude. Great video.
One of the best videos of osprey I've ever witnessed.. Fantastic...excellent commentary too...
Thank you!

This was so action packed I forgot where I was. Just wasn't long enough..Thank you Mark! Marvelous footage and great shots.🙏🔥❤
Thanks
The double catch near the end is off the charts... doubt if many have captured that before
Agreed and thanks
Absolutely brilliant. Every photo was the shot of a lifetime for most of us.
Thanks
Just marvelous, so thrilling! I love how well you explain the action we’re seeing.
Thanks
How amazing this was!!! Never saw something similar! Bravo!
thank you!
One of the best videos I have seen in many years. Outstanding videography and photography, backed up by music that flows gently along and informative narration. Thanks much.
The power these birds have to use to get out of the water is truly mind blowing great video thanks from the UK
Thanks
Sheesh That Thumbnail Is Great Mark!
Absolutely beautiful work, even the music was perfect. The thumbnail photo is cover worthy.
Thabks
The Fall mullet run is something to behold. It is an event here in Florida that all fisherman need to witness. I like to hit Sebastian Inlet when mullet run is in full swing
Great spot!
@@MarkSmithphotography All the big predators show up for the feast. I had mullet jumping in my boat. It was total mayhem. Loved it. lol
@@markhansen3111 awesome. I hear it is starting again now.
Love it as usual. The end where the osprey grabbed 2 for supper was great. Needed this ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
So Awesome can't tell you how cool was this day. I love living here. see ya on the beach.
It was!
Hey Mark, intense music for intense video and photos! All that was missing was a mullet haircut during a massive mullet run! 🦈
lol
After this, if National Geo doesn’t call to sign you up, I don’t know what it will take. This is magnificent.
Thanks
Incredible! This 13 minutes was more exciting than any thriller I've seen on Netflix.
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it.
Absolutely brilliant. Loved this, and your 'story line' was the icing on the cake :-)
Thanks
My favorite was the 2 fer the osprey caught. The whole thing was action packed and awesome to watch. Thanks!
My favorite Raptor is the Osprey and you did a magnificent job of capturing them in the video! Loved every bit of the video! Thank you!
Thanks
Absolutely brilliant! The closing sequence of two fish grabbed simultaneously was epic!
Thanks
I am japanese. I am looking forward to it every time.
Great action photos as usual Mark! Wish that I could have been there to witness that. We have a similar frenzy happen on Long Island Sound in the fall when "Bunker" (aka, Manhadden) are chased by Blue Fish & Striped Bass. Nature is really amazing! 👍👍😉😉 Hope that you are doing well in FL.
I have heard about the bunkers!
The seals are eating the Menhaden in Maine right now (or “Poggies” as we call them). Millions of fish in the bay at high tide.
The Osprey with the 2 fish. Incredible.
Agreed
You are one of the best photographers I have ever seen. Amazing shots. I watched this video and was amazed. Those shots of the Osprey were magical. I was surprised there were so many sharks. All the photos were beautiful. Excellent job. Thank you for sharing.
Damn Mark that was your best footage ever
Thanks but wait until you see what I’ve got in the works. Makes this seem like a freshman attempt for sure. 😁
Phenomenal work !!!!
Thanks!
Absolutely the best bird photography video that I have ever seen. It is a non-stop feeding frenzy and you nailed it. Thank you so much for continued sharing and inspiring. For some reason I am tired and hungry and I feel your pain.
Thank you!
@@MarkSmithphotography Mark, You have everything in this video except the Blue Angels and a tornado.
Best of Mark Smith, so far. Bravo! I like de mini-documentary style and I'll share it on Facebook for more people to enjoy it. THANK YOU! for sharing.
Thanks
@@MarkSmithphotography , cheers!
I could be wrong but I think those where Jack crevalle and not Amber jack. Usually the Jack crevalle are the inshore species and the Amber jack is a deeper water offshore species You do stunning work !!
You might be right! Thanks!
Agreed.....crevalle are related to pompano and permit.....all shallow water fish for the most part.
Not Jacks or Amberjacks...They are SNOOK...Never the less a fantastic video and pictures...
Snook at the beginning, Jack Crevalle later
did you upgrade to the A1 ? i am about to go get my copy in an hour.
Of course
@@MarkSmithphotography i just my copy today. cant wait to set it up and go out. A1 and 200-600
Just fantastic!!!!!!!!!! I used to think such photography was only achieved by BBC film crews, but your work is just as good, and done by only yourself, not a large staff with budget to match. Great photo/cinematography.
Thank you!
More than a photographer, u r a magician . Beautiful n amazing work. Stay blessed Mark
Thank you so much 😀
FAAAAANtastic!!! So many favorite shots, especially at 2 seconds when for the first time I saw the multitude of mullets jumping out of the waves; and at 11;22 sec with Osprey with fish and background of fish. Other highlights are 6 sec. Torpin; 7;10 shark; 9.3 sec. Arrows pointing to sharks (important), 11.30 Osprey with skis" lol. Great mix of stills and action and exciting narration. I would have liked to have seen some time-stamps of when photos were taken. Luv your new hair style!!! Thank you so much for sharing your brilliant work.
Thanks for all the great compliments!
Love ya bro 😘😘👍
The stills of the ospreys - stunning, gorgeous!
Thanks
Love seeing the tarpon frozen mid-leap. Such a powerful fish.
Mark you said you don’t use auto iso, how do you set up your exposure for birds? Do you have a video on that? I’ve been shooting manual at 1/2000 at widest f-stop on auto iso?
Not yet, but I will soon. I am making a setup guide for the a1 and a tips and tricks video for sony shooters.
@@MarkSmithphotography Looking forward to your setup guide for the a1. :)
@@MarkSmithphotography Thank you Mark!! I just recently got my own A1 after renting a few times, a setup guide from you would be fantastic!
oo XX
That osprey with 2 fishes each one in each leg is just insane, such a fishing master!
Awesome video and stills action! I've seen mullets explode the water in Texas, but NEVER have I seen something like this! Just wow, Mark, you caught the best action I have ever seen of this!
Thanks
I can't identify which was the best part of the video, I loved at all. Keep up the good work love your videos.
Thanks
Great combination of action footage & gripping stills. That osprey with TWO fish is one for the ages. I love the still of the osprey with its talons forward!!
Another epic combination of video, stills and commentary! Thanks
Awesome - just awesome. Visuals and text are perfect. You are really gifted. Thank you so much.
Thanks
So many amazing parts. The whole scene seems overwhelming. Still my favorite part was the Osprey that caught two fish and sort of looked like he was skiing. Great narration of that part!
This is some of the best mullet migration footage ive ever seen! Wow! Well done man, damn!
Thanks
Bird with 2 fish .... beautiful movements Thanks
It was like Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom, great narrating on your part, Marlin Perkins would be proud!❤
As always your videos are "fantastic" Professional videos with excellent captures, both photos and video. I never stop seeing them. Congratulations!
Thanks
Excellent. Always love Ospreys…. Neat seeing those Tarpon as well!
Yes was awesome
I love your narration of the whole experience. I use to live near the Rodman Dam in Fort McCoy Florida. Everyday Osprey would dive off the fence into the water catching fish. They were amazing. But seeing your pictures, how they stick their talons out in front of them for the catch is so wonderful to witness. The Cormorants were awesome divers too.
What an amazing day at the beach. And the final "ski-bird" ! so worth the extra effort (on both photographer & bird) I wondered if the osprey spotted the sharks when they backed out of the dive. It's amazing to see these big birds snatch a wiggly fish, their massive wings pumping to pull them back to the sky. Great photos and great effort to capture this.
Thanks
Carol, that’s exactly what I was thinking. Last-minute clear focus of danger in these waters. Smart birds!
@@gomphrena-beautifulflower-8043 Nature is so fascinating!
