  • Most people are drawn to this movie because subliminally it resonates with some internal struggle they have in life. I find mostly men are attracted to this movie, because men have more of a struggle to find their way in the world. If you want to find out what this movie is truly about, rent the DVD, go to special features, and turn the director's commentary feature on. It's Guy Ritchie and a couple other people describing what the scenes are actually about. They don't reveal all of the symbolism in the movie, but they give you the understanding that there is a deeper message communicated through symbolism. It's a very dense movie in that there is a lot to it. You will need to watch it several times and every time you watch it you will see something new and gained a new level of understanding. In a nutshell, this movie is ultimately about escaping the cage that are ego builds around us. It's about defeating your ego to put yourself on the path to becoming self-actualized in being your own person.

  • You are your own god, your world is unique, your own perception of your surroundings are unique. In essence only you will live your life, and you can change it, you can perceive things differently, you can make different choices, you can choose to be different. No one else, has ever, or will ever live your life. You are your own God.

  • Thank you. Agreed. It is an eternal journey of learning; going from one point of awareness to the next. The elevator scene is only an early stage of realization and understanding, that one's thoughts are not one's own. If we are not continuing to learn new truths daily we are dead men walking. Heaven is no destination, but a Way of Being... and continuing to question everything is the only way forward. "The thoughts we cannot bare to think control us more than the thoughts we speak aloud."

  • It is also normal, the ego feeds off of negativity it thrives off of it. It doesn't want to let it go, you just need to make it let go. Try to realize when you feel negativity, and understand what is triggering it, and really analyze it and you will realize it is usually something mundane.

  • Enlightenment is identity in the soul, and not superficial, I had to do almost four minutes of research to reach such a simplistic understanding without all of the religious humbug, and now I have come to a way bigger realization of my connection with God, all that there is, is within all of us. • By simple observation and being, our power to express the light of truth, comes from our quiet awareness, A nothingness to the world, and yet a complete interconnection with the universe, love and everyone there ever has existed. Time, space, perception, ego it all ends in the true perception of self, the perception of no perception, sitting in the void of all potentiality and creation, energies waiting to be used in efforts of positive creation, all is within, its been said for 1000's of years

    • enlighten09 Quit wondering when it appeared obvious that whatever answer arises, will be an answer by the voice, by thought, by ego. Even when it starts talking about itself, it pretends it is not *it* that is talking. ''The best trick was convincing their opponent that they are them.''. Clever. ''Conscious being'', as you call it, has nothing to say, nor is there a sense of identification when there is purely that. All distinction is ego, or intersects at that 'me' subject. That distinction of 'me' and 'other', that's not ego? you sure of that? :) Where there is no distinction of a subject/'me', there is no distinction of any objects whatsoever. No subject, no object perception. Like deep sleep. No question of who or what.. yet some subtle non-distinctive awareness seems to remain.. yes. What is saying ''i am that'', beyond this voice of distinction? So, instead of asking ''Who'' or ''What'' Am I?, maybe ask if what is beyond all these mirages, even fits into that little 'who' or 'what' thinking box 'you'/'me' treasures so much. :) Anyway.. gonna just drop it.. talk is just doggie chasing tail.

  • @TheDarkHadoken Astrophysicists have determined the universe must have had a beginning, and that the probability of a life permitting universe is 1/10 to the 500th power; chance is unlikely; the laws of nature do not require a life permitting universe, they're independent. What then created the universe? A being beyond time and matter of incredible power. On the existence of the devil and God: we have another science called psychology; Id, ego, and super-ego are just new names for old concepts.

  • So are you controlling your ego now? Informing people of how wrong they are and shoving your 'intelligence' and 'wisdom' in their face while making yourself out to look superior and above mortal enlightenment? You are your own worst enemy. Control that ego of yours, you do not even realise that it's speaking through you. The more control you think you have, the less you actually have.

Your Ego keeps peace with the S/E.

    • HootyInWonderLand Hi. My name is Leni and a few years ago I had an intense spiritual experience at a spiritual retreat that allowed me to not only hear but also feel the Ego. I have learned so much from my own Ego. I LOVE the Ego now and we work together to help others heal their own relationship with their Ego. You cannot get rid of the Ego. Its job is actually really important. Its job on earth is to buffer emotional situations. It is the personification of our emotions. Without it we would go crazy on earth as it is so emotional here. To heal the Ego is the only way to truly fix what is going on. Since it has consciousness, all I did was to invite my Ego to hang out with me during my day. I also acknowledged it and told it that I loved it all the time. It may sound silly to invite the Ego to hang out with you, as it is already a part of us but you must understand that the Ego does not feel welcome. Imagine what it would feel like if the person that we loved most in the world turned against us, tried to get rid of us and talked crap about us all the time. The Ego becomes embittered because of this. You cannot heal your Ego through forgiving others. You cannot heal your Ego through healing childhood trauma. Although the Ego is the Guide to our emotions it is a relationship as well. It is not an issue so healing our childhood is fantastic but will not heal our relationship with our Ego. Think about it...how can we heal something while bashing it at the same time? I know that the teachings say that by forgiving and loving others we may heal our Ego. I followed these types of teachings for 14 years until this experience happened. That is what I believed but I have learned that it is simply not true. Trying to heal the Ego by being nice to or forgiving others would be like trying to heal our own relationship by healing someone else's relationship. Not possible. We can heal our own Ego by loving it as I stated above. Acknowledge it as often as you remember and invite it to do things with you. You can say "hi Ego (give your Ego a name or let it choose one. This is very special for the Ego. To let it choose its own name just listen for a name. To choose a kind and special name for it will work as well and make your Ego happy and feeling respected for the first time in its life). Anyway, you can say "hi Ego. Would you like to join me for a drink tonight?" Anything that you do is something that the Ego wants to join you in doing. My life has changed so much since connecting with my Ego. It has improved dramatically. I used to be a server at a restaurant and now I am a "spiritual" teacher and healer. This will not be the case with everyone. Integration of the Ego seems to amplify our own dormant gifts. So everyone will have their own experience. I am not one to try to promote myself on other's pages so I wont leave my site here. If anyone wants to know it just let me know on this comment section or message me on Facebook if you ever want to contact me. I do charge to do the Integration but if you do not want to pay anything simply work with your Ego by doing the things that I list in this comment. There are several free exercises that have now come through as a result of working with my Ego Martin. They are listed on my site and there are a bunch more on my Facebook page which is listed under my name. I have been able to connect more with my own Spirit Guides as a result have channeled a bunch of information from them to help folks. I quit my job and now do this full time. That would never have been possible for me before as I was deep in scarcity and hated my life on earth. Like I said above, you can work with your Ego for free if you want to connect with yours. Simply invite it to hang out with you, acknowledge it, give it a name and tell it that you love it. You can also do this exercise that I assign for 60 days to each client. This helps to heal subconscious fear of the Ego of which we have tons and is really powerful: 1. Pretend that you are holding a sword and shield and then set them down. (This is to signify that you are not defending against or attacking the Ego but are instead welcoming it.) 2. Welcome the Ego into your imagined sacred meeting space, as if it is a cherished guest. 3. Take a second to deeply love the Ego and then thank it for all of the experiences that it has given you good or bad. (Why do this? Because gratitude is very powerful and has a deep healing affect.) That is it! So easy. My Guides came up with this exercise. It is called the Healing Blueprint and is on my site for free. You can substitute anything that you want to heal for the Ego as well. I have used this method to heal TONS of issues. Health issues such as a lifelong mold allergy, headaches, migraines, back issues, flus, colds, general pain and a bunch of other things. I had zero ability to self-heal before. It works by shifting the frequency of what you are trying to heal to a higher vibration. The whole exercise should only take 15-30 seconds. Good luck. The Ego deserves love just as we all do. It craves our love. Besides, there is no other way that I have found to heal the Ego.

The Id is the psychic representation of your biological instincts, the Super ego, is the internalized opinions and beleifs of external persons and the Ego is the part of the psyche that attempts to keep balance between the other two parts. part1

  • @vamplestat117 That's only because you picture "Satan" as a red little devil or some kind of other persona....thats bogus. It's the mainstream image that has warped the perspective of newer generations. The devil or "satan" of the bible, qur'an, etc is in fact the ego in all of us. God the creator is the architect of the world and communicates through us via consciousness. In fact, your conscious being looking at the world from behind your eyes is God. In a way u r God. So am I. We are all one.

  • @vamplestat117 Satan was always represented as the ego in numerous different religions. Do some research before you open your mouth.

    • You cannot destroy The Ego. The only solution is MASTERING it. (Not easy). The ego engages in secondary process thinking, which is rational, realistic, and orientated towards problem-solving. If a plan of action does not work, then it is thought through again until a solution is found. This is known as reality testing and enables the person to control their impulses and demonstrate self-control, via mastery of the ego. An important feature of clinical and social work is to enhance ego functioning and help the client test reality through assisting the client to think through their options.

  • satan is the lord/god of the carnal ego that wants to exclude THE LORDSHIP of Jesus Christ and GOD THE FATHER. GOD defines morality and right-relationships. NOT you. NOT me. The Lie, - the "Great Lie" of satan is: "you don't need GOD, ... and you DON'T need a Saviour OR transformation." ... it felled eve, it felled adam, ... it has felled the whole human race, ... with the exception of the elect of GOD whom GOD has (and will) call.
