  • The greatest Con the ego ever did was making you believe it exists. The second grestest con it then pulled is making you think it had something to offer so you'd choose it. The third con, once you choose it, was making you believe it was you. The 4th con was making you believe you destroyed who you were before you choose it, so now you'd never think it question it, or believe you have the power to choose against it - to waken from it's fool's gold dream world

    @TheDreamingson@TheDreamingson5 жыл бұрын
    • can you explain 4th con little more ?

      @lupinder2058@lupinder20583 жыл бұрын
    • Let's start from where most people are..instead of the other way around for teaching purposes.. . The con the ego pulled was first to make you believe that there was "you" and "another", "I" and "you", that different/separate bodies MEANT different/separate minds. The first con was the belief in different identities where the common was concealed behind all the differences (physical, psychological/conceptual, behavioural). Then when you questioned this separation and realized the con it was, the ego pulled another trick where it told you that it was "within" yourself, that you and everybody else had an "ego" within. You did not use the word ego before in a meaningful sense because the ego had no real perception-altering power, but now you knew that there was a little mischevious creature in you and in others. But then this was the Matrix reloaded since the ego had once again played a trick on you, telling you that it was a PART of you, or something else apart from you, when YOU were in fact the ego. It was the other that wasn't the ego ^^ The perceiver, the thinker, the feeler HAD BEEN captured, limited. YOU were the limited consciousness that had to open up, not the prisoner imprisoned, but the prison imprisoning you. When you have realized this second trick, the ego can't really hide anymore for it has exhausted all its tricks. Now becomes the phase of undoing where you can disidentify with the ego where you must "betray yourself", betray your ways, your principles, your resistances, your inclinations in thought and feeling in order to break the loop in which you lived. It feels like a self-betrayal because of the identification. It feels like abandoning yourself because of the identification. It is truly the reunion with yourself but it feels the great separation from yourself.

    • @@AlikaAlitheiA Nope. I watched Revolver more than 100 times, with all due respect, I can tell that you missed the essential part of it. Guy Ritchie clearly said it in one of his interviews. The film starts off with a jailbreak and ends with a jailbreak because all the skulduggery going on inside his head didn’t allow him to know he was still incarcerated. That’s what the film is about, the ultimate jailbreak and the radical actions one needs to undertake to liberate oneself from this jail. It tells the story of the skulduggery and trickery and head-trickery that accompanies Jake on his journey and the seemingly unlikely actions our hero has to undertake to break out of his mental jail. There's also a scene in which a character named Avi who made exactly the same statement; you're still in prison, Jake infact you never left.

      @ItzSJbro@ItzSJbro Жыл бұрын
    • @@ItzSJbro you’re saying that he is in a mental prison, we all agree! to miss that you’d really need to not be paying attention to the movie… the question is: if Jake is in the real world with real people going through real change, or he is in an actual physical prison and this is all a dream Jake Green is having inside of his cell, and hallucinating 8 split personalities. That’s what the “Wizard” meant.

  • Its sounds so deep , yet at the same time kind of pointless. Yes we all have egos, and its keeping us alive

    • F*ck off Ron. You going to be an A hole for the rest of your life? The movie wasn't made for you. A certain % of people will never understand this film. Then there's a minute % of people that this film is the ultimate guide to defeating The Adversary To Us All. The only enemy that ever existed.

    • @@Kognitosan Leave him alone, he's the worst critic I've ever seen. It's 2021 and yet he still comes back with alot of his bullcrap comments on the "revolver" videos as if the movie has abducted his mind. He's not worth our time.
